Zermatt Budget Rooms

It has been extremely luxury experience to stay in the hotel. Clean, cosy, comfortable bedding and towels, great space for our family. The location is just 5 min walk from the train station. Awesome breakfast and phenomenal staff. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. Just book it if you are reading my review. Best place we have stayed in Switzerland.

Everything was just perfect. Beautiful wellness area, amazing staff, delicious breakfast and the room was simply amazing.
Room was excellent for family. I was not expecting the kitchen but there was a kitchen with all required things. Overall very good facility and we really enjoyed the stay.
Breakfast was good and there was multiple options. Spa was available but I haven’t used it.

We had an amazing stay here. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The staff were so nice, the spa/wellness was EXCELLENT. Breakfast was amazing. There are not spectacular views of the Matterhorn, but they hit it in every other regard and are reasonably priced as well. I recommend highly!!

We stayed at Zermatt Budget Rooms for one night. The room is clean and there is everything you need in the room, eg, kitchen with utensils, TV, fridge, big bed, big bathroom, etc. Additionally, we also enjoyed the spa, swimming pool and the gym in the hotel. The breakfast was good as well. They also offered small dessert and tea in the lobby for you to enjoy some other leisure time. The price is reasonable for what they offered. Highly recommended if you want to spend your holidays at Zermatt.

This is an excellent hotel. From the balcony of our room, we could see the entire Matterhorn! The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the train station, but they also offer a free shuttle service. Their pool is very beautiful, clean, and the water temperature is just right. The spa facilities are very complete, and their onsen pool is a very unique experience. The breakfast at the hotel is not amazing, but it is good enough. Each guest can also get a free drink at the bar. Overall, the experience was fantastic, highly recommended, and great value for money.

Excellent rooms and service. Very large rooms and even a larger bathroom 😀. Everything is clean. Loved their afternoon tea and breakfast. English speaking, professional front desk staff. Try to get a room with a Matterhorn view. Mine didn’t had one, but the hotel has rooms with a view.

Despite the name "Budget Rooms" the facilities here were excellent. I think they call it "Budget Rooms" because the rooms are in the basement and do not have a view. You have access to breakfast in the morning, the jacuzzi and the pool. They also provide you a ride to the train station free of charge.

This is one of the best places I have stayed in couple of years. There’s nothing that could be better. Room was excellent, breakfast was amazing and the entire property was amazing. Staff was very polite and helpful.

I found the correct location after contacting the number provided here. You can't arrive there by car, so leave your car in Täsch and then take the train. I had an amazing experience here with the best service I have ever received. The room was cozy and the view was charming.

I cannot tell you how awesome it is to stay at this hotel. The rooms are located in the Alpen Resort Hotel These budget rooms are in the basement but they are huge, with large living area and large bathrooms. They are also completely renovated. The hot tubs and pool are some of the very best you will find in Zermatt. The hotel itself is beautiful and close to all the amenities.

As for the service all I can say is that it is incredible. Probably the very best I have received in all my years of travel. We received Prosecco upon arrival and lots advice on skiing and exploring Zermatt. Miss Karolina and Miss Anna where especially a delight to interact with and made our stay most enjoyable. The daily breakfast was terrific and we never went hungry. They had typical European and North American fare.

If you are thinking of staying at this hotel I recommend you stop your search and just book. You will not find a better hotel for this price in Zermatt. 5+ rating!

I thought it was a typical budget hotel but it exceeded my expectation. It is cozy, fantastic and very clean! I love the buffet breakfast too! And also they made us feel comfortable by keeping our luggages since my husband and i came early and still couldnt check in. We will remember every moment we spent here

Zermatt budget rooms was an excellent choice. Location is great 7-8 minute walk from the Zermatt train station and they also have a complimentary shuttle service.

The budget Rooms are on the “basement” level, so no view, but we did have a small outdoor patio. The room itself was great, very large, great lighting, very nice bathroom.

- Breakfast is included, and has a nice spread
- great pool/ sauna/ relaxing area
- hotel staff is very friendly and multi-lingual

<15 to walk to the other end of town and only 7-8 minute walk to Gronergrat station.

I would recommend this option for anyone looking to find a more affordable option, and you can book directly from the hotel’s site for the same rate as the various online travel discount sites.

I very much enjoyed my stay!

Loved this place! We had a great room that fit five of us. We had the meal plan which I highly recommend, each dinner had three options and each of us always found something we loved - everything was perfectly prepared and service was top notch! You'll love the wellness center with two hot tubs, heated pool, sauna and other relaxing areas which really helped after a long day skiing. The front desk was very helpful as well for any needed information and even helped arrange transportation for us for a 4:15 am departure and provided us a nice breakfast bag! Overall, defiantly recommend!

I stayed in for a night and their service its amazing. Very friendly staff. They have a swimming pool, sauna, steamed sauna, relaxing room, jacuzzi. Their breakfast its amazingly good. Amazing Amazing Amazing in every aspect.

The pros : A well-deserved 4-star hotel!
We loved the complimentary access to the wellness center until 10pm with its onsen, stylish indoor pool, sauna with a button to add essential oil, jacuzzi, hot/cold showers with fragrant mist, quiet rooms, and complimentary refreshments and snacks. We loved the spacious bedroom and bathroom that included bathrobes and slippers, even though it was the hotel's 'budget room'. We really appreciated the luggage room as we checked-in early before our room was ready, as well as its changing room and access to a bathroom and shower. We didn't have time, but we would have loved to play in the spacious play room with its pool table, foosball, and ping-pong table. The hotel is really close to the tran station (5-min walk) but the free on-demand shuttle service is appreciated in case of big luggages. The breakfast was good, the choices were pretty on point (yogurt, granola, pancakes, breads, jams, eggs, bacon, sausages, deli meats, freshly cut cured ham, cheeses, rice, beans, coffee, tea, juices). For those who like it, there's even champagne to make mimosa cocktails.

The cons : We'd prefer and appreciate freshly squeezed orange juice. The space for breakfast is a little tight compared to other rooms, but nicely furnished. We don't have any other suggestions to improve the hotel's already wonderful amenities and services.

I booked a triple room at Zermatt Budget Rooms, which is the basement level of Alpine Resorts & Spa. The recently renovated room was spacious and very comfortable. There is a whole lower-level that’s dedicated to the bathroom with a tub and a shower. The only con with that is you have to go all the way downstairs to wash your hands upon coming into the room (maybe a small sink by the entrance would be good?).

Even though our room was on the basement level, there was some sunlight that came through the large windows, as many buildings in Switzerland are on sloped land.

You still get access to all of the spa facilities and breakfast included. All of these were fantastic—my favorite was the onsen.

The one con for us was that the fans in the bathroom are quite loud, and I couldn’t figure out a way to turn them off. Eventually we got used to the noise, but if you are sensitive to noise when trying to sleep, maybe consider ear plugs.
