Trenino Barocco Modica

Highly recommend! We liked it so much that we took this train again next day)) you can see the best places of the city, enjoy beautiful local songs and stories about Modica, the price was still 5 Euro as of the summer 2024. You get loots of positive emotions

For 5 euros you can see all the highlights of Modica and skip A LOT of walking uphill/ up stairs. The entire ride is about 40 minutes. Great for kids and anyone with mobility issues. I recommend buying tickets in advance. We waited too long and by 4:45 the 5pm ride (on a Wednesday) was sold out. We then waited until 6pm. Note where you buy tickets and where the train picks up! They might not be in the same place. Don't be late because the train will leave without you.
Also note this is NOT a hop on hop off hop on again experience. If you get out at the top to take pictures you will have to walk down hill back to the city center.

Had read the red train was not good etc only catch the green train around Modica. Spoke to the guy who drives the red train and told him what I had read and we were giving him the benefit of the doubt. Train ride great stopped for photos, very friendly driver IF YOU BOTHER TO TALK TO AND ACKNOWLEDGE DRIVER. 5 out of 5 from this Australian couple.

Great value for a small price. We took the tour today on our visit in modica and we liked it. It covered all the most important buildings in the city and provides background information about the town, it's history, important people who lived here and the art and culture. My recommendation: if you want to listen to the audio guide (which is provided in Italian and english) make sure you sit right underneath the speakers since the train gets quite squeaky around corners

Giro sul trenino Barocco che consiglio vivamente di fare...le hostess gentilissime e sapienti nei consigli su come e cosa è meglio vedere.

Il Trenino Barocco di Modica è un’esperienza affascinante che ti guida attraverso gli stretti vicoli e le stradine caratteristiche della città. Partendo dal Corso Umberto I, nella parte bassa di Modica, raggiunge Modica Alta, la parte antica della città. Qui, potrai ammirare il maestoso Duomo di San Giorgio e immergerti nell’atmosfera barocca che permea questa affascinante località. 🚂✨

Modica, con la sua storia millenaria, si estende sui Monti Iblei e offre scorci panoramici mozzafiato. Le ripide scalinate, i palazzi barocchi e le chiese grandiose creano un’atmosfera unica. Nel 2002, insieme ad altre città del Val di Noto, Modica è stata dichiarata Patrimonio Mondiale dell’Umanità dall’UNESCO.

Sicuramente da prendere perche potrete vedere in comodità tutta Modica alta!

Da non perdere... Si può fare il giro con il trenino al costo di 5 euro, se conservi il biglietto potrai usufruire di uno sconto sui trenini/navetta a Scicli, Ragusa , Noto. lo consiglio se qualcuno fatica a camminare e sopratutto ha difficoltà fare le scale! E di scalini c'è ne!

Ottima opportunità per visitare Modica con l'ausilio di commenti relativi agli edifici che si costeggiano e che diversamente a piedi non sarebbe possibile in breve tempo. Bello anche l'aver scoperto che alla stazione di partenza del trenino c'era la filarmonica di Modica alle prove per un vicino concerto ed è stato molto bello ed entusiasmante da parte mia, per la stessa passione condivisa, averli ascoltati anche al concerto e conosciuto personalmente il loro direttore artistico Sergio Battaglia
