Osteria La Pace Volterra

Very nice place which we have visited maybe 15 times over the last three years. Homemade pasta or Florentine Steaks and a lot of other dishes are awesome. The atmosphere is very typical of Tuscany and the personnel is very friendly .
Just take a long walk in beautiful Volterra and come to eat at the end of the day

Loved the ambiance of Italian osteria which reminded me of good times in Brazil when going to Italian restaurants.

Food is delicious, tasty and well served.

A fabulous authentic local Italian restaurant. Another recommendation from our host in volterra and it was just superb! Wife's pici with tomato sauce was her favorite meal of our 20 days in Italy. My wild boar on a polenta was such a delicious comfort food. Their tiramisu just as incredible. Very nice staff too! At the end, a little vitamin C ;P (see pic)

They went above and beyond, even when there was an issue with the card reader and we were out of cash. Highly recommend!

Perfect! We loved the location, the view, the food, and the wine! They were wonderful with our toddler! This is exactly the type of restaurant we search for in cities.

Amazing experience - food and service! The owner Geppo made a suggestion and we absolutely loved it! You must try the lard crostini with fresh truffles!😱 It melts in your mouth like butter! The pici al cinghiale (pici pasta with boar ragù) is hearty and delightful!We went twice in 2 weeks, definitely worth a stop if you’re looking for a place to eat in Volterra!

The place is small and cozy, the food is delicious. We were there for the New Year’s Eve dinner and we were delighted by a series of dishes with homelike feeling but of great quality and taste! Also the owner is a true entertainer, generous and very good at making everybody comfortable. If you happen to be in Volterra you should definitely try it!

That was a yummie visit. Alas, I only had the chance to eat here once at noon, in the evening (during August) it was fully booked. Food is great, service a bit slow, but I loved the taste <3

Amazing food with an amazing staff.

Visiting Volterra and not passing by La Pace is a huge mistake. We went there to try their pasta and their meet, and they were both amazing.

Also, the prices are very affordable and the food portions are not crazy, so you can even try several types of pasta.

They also have a good wine offering in the menu at an afforable range of prices, from 18€

We had a coffee and a tiramisu, simply lovely.

Such a nice and cozy place with great hospitality and delicious food. The owner and the staff are extra friendly and honest, definitely will visit again ♥

I am writing this review maybe 8 months after my experience - thinking retrospectively that this is one of my favourite meals of my life so far. The pici all'aglione was incredible, the tiramisu that followed magnificent, the atmosphere of the table outside (just starting to get chilly at the end of September). I felt fine as a solo woman to eat here also. I aspire to one day return.

It doesn't get any better than this. No frills, no pretension. Just good food, good wine, friendly service and a very authentic experience. We all had different dishes and they were all very well served (massive dishes, actually) and reasonably priced. Beautiful place that I can't recommend enough.

It’s a very nice family restaurant with good vibes and food. Friendly and fun people took great care of me as a solo traveler.

Truly authentic and delicious local food. Abundant portions and excellent quality. I will definitely go back to Volterra just to experience lunch there again!

Edit: we came back to Italy a year later and drove an hour and a half just to have lunch there. The food and service were fantastic as last time! We highly recommend the Pici al Cinghiale!

Great menu for very fair prices in volterra. Beautiful location with regional handmade food!

Fantastic place to be! Service was perfect. We got very good advices regarding the food from the waiter, followed it in full and never regret that decision. Food was awesome. Pasta with wild boar and Florentine steak were fantastic. Deserts were delicious. At the end of the dinner we were offered some pieces of watermelon by the owner who was sitting in the restaurant and enjoying and sharing his watermelon with everybody around. Absolutely nice and friendly atmosphere. Too bad we had been in Volterra for one evening only. Otherwise,we would definitely come again.
Maybe next year... 😉

We ate lunch here in August 2018 with a group of 11 friends and family. We love this family owned “Osteria!” The Pasta Pici Pomodoro was the best pasta dish we have had in Italy. The waiter, Simone, was excellent and gave us a tour including the kitchen and Cisterna (well) which dates back to 400 AD. 5 Stars all the way. Grazie Mille!!
