Hotel Bahnhof Zermatt

Zermatt is a very expensive place, but Hotel Bahnhof makes it accessible to those who aren't super rich! It is a HOSTEL (rather than a hotel) but I found it very comfortable and one of the best hostels I have stayed in. I could see the Matterhorn from my bed! The dormitory beds are fairly private, with good shelving to arrange your things, and I had my own light. Most dormitories have a balcony. The kitchen is well equipped including kettle, microwave, hobs (although no oven) and my fellow hostel guests were able to cook up some awesome looking meals. Showers were nice and hot. The location is PERFECT- right by the train station (which is handy because all the hiking signs point to Zermatt train station so you can always find your way home! It is very quiet at night because it is away from the bars that open late. Two supermarkets and the tourist information centre are right nearby. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They have laundry facilities and hairdryers + umbrellas you can borrow. Very responsive to the questions I had prearrival which helped me to pack what I needed. Top Tip: If you have any mobility issues or difficulties with stairs, request a ground-floor room or you could be on the fourth floor, which involves some steep steps! (But the view makes it worthwhile!)

Fantastic hotel. Right next to the main station and some of the key cable cars, 2 minutes from the shops and main street. The dorm room beds are comfy and private, great views.
The service sets it apart. Aggie was amazing throughout my whole stay, providing great tips for my hiking and did everything she could to make my stay in Zermatt as smooth as possible. Could not recommend enough

Perfect location in Zermatt. In front of the main station. It’s perfect for a solo traveller. The room is clean and the bed setup in the dorm room feels private. Very recommended. The price is very affordable compared to other hotels for a solo traveller. The kitchen is big and has almost everything. Few supermarkets are nearby.

Hotel reception service is great. The room is small. There's no breakfast, but it provides a general kitchen to help yourself cooking , a refrigerator for storage and basket with labels for your food shopping. The hotel is located right in front of the train station and main street.

Best hostel you’d stay in zermatt ! The rooms are clear, toilets and showers are always clean and well maintained. The kitchen is large and all guests are very respectful. The location is a win win - next to the station and the train to Gornergrat and right by the bus stop for free buses. Would absolutely recommend and come back to. Stayed in a female dorm (8 people) - the girls were all respectful and quiet.

Right next to the train station, so easy to walk to. You don't hear any street noise . Easy access to drop skis /boots in ski room prior to heading to your room.

This hostel is in a fantastic location, the staff are friendly and the facilities are excellent. Arriving and departing very easy, and for winter activities it's ideal due to its close proximity to the mountain railway. Kitchen and laundry facilities are excellent, with an open plan communal dining room.

Room is good, clean, big shared toilet, nice people, and big shared kitchen which is wonderful for guests to cook their own foods.
The location is great, just in front of the train station, and 20 meters away from the train station to the Matterhorn.

I stayed at Hotel Bahnhof around third week of September 2022. Amazing location next to the train station and shopping mall. In less than 2 minutes, you can walk to stores or visitor center or train station. Two restaurants are located outside of its doors. It's so centrally located to everything. I couldn't have found a better location this this. It's outside of the train station, yet you don't hear trains noise. I enjoyed staying in a private room with view of Matterhorn. I liked cleanliness of this hostel. Every floor has toilets and showers. They are pretty clean and well maintained. Kitchen was clean and equipped with everything that one would need. Staff was accommodating and friendly. I arrived late. They left my room key on the desk and sent me email how to get in after 8 PM. It was thoughtful that they sent me email to notify me how to get in after hours. I would highly recommend this place for budget travelers.

Travelling by train? Hotel Bahnhof is perfectly located as you step out of the station. Its a ski lodge- with the expected shared showers and wc's, but expert and responsive receptionist and clean comfortable rooms. Recommended.

Nothing to say but an excellent way to stay in Zermatt!

Really friendly and welcoming reception staff, easy check in and great location (just opposite train station). Female dorm room was clean and had small individual lockers for your valuables. Nice shelf by each bed along with reading light and plug socket. This room is on the same level as reception so no stairs but be aware that there is no lift if you are staying upstairs. Kitchen, bathrooms and communal lounge were all spotlessly clean. Overall great value for the expensive resort of Zermatt!

What a great place to stay. Yes shared accommodation but neat and tidy. I cannot speak highly enough of the reception staff, very friendly and helped us at every turn.
The location is literally across the road from the train and an easy walk to most things.
We went skiing and there is the bus stop right out the front that takes you to the lift (take the “green” bus)

I really enjoyed staying at the hostel. The people there were so friendly and helpful. They even gave me clear instructions when I needed to check in late or check out later than usual. It made my stay even better! Plus its right next to train station and to go Gornergrat

Good hostel. Not having a elevator is tricky but well kept and amazing location!

I have stayed this hotel several times. It is cosy and clean. Down stairs is big kitchen and lounge. There is also possibility to wash your laundry and store items while you are at mountains. Hotel has very good price and value ratio. Service has been good every time I have stayed there. A front of the hotel there is nice tables to sit on.

For a hostel, it is really great. Staff was so very friendly and check on and out was easy. The view was great too.
The area_town is really expensive so make sure you plan for a $32 hamburger ($6 to add fries to that).

Very nice room with amazing view of Matterhorn, very cozy in the hotel in general, but extremely cold in the night. I had merely fallen asleep because of the low temperature. Also the shower was a bit odd to me: you should have press a button every few seconds in order to get water while showering. I would come back, but maybe in a warmer season.

The location is the best part about this hotel. Another best part is the host, she was so kind and friendly.
