III Binario Bar

Thank goodness for the late hours here! Entranced by the beauty of Lake Como, we lost track of time and quickly took the ferry back by sunset, famished and ready to eat but forgot that Italians eat a lot earlier than in the U.S. Not surprisingly, most restaurants had already closed or were refusing service, including the one with the romantic lake view nearby. This eatery closes at 10 so we had plenty of time. Prices were listed on the menu and charged appropriately (unlike other reviews). The polite and engaging young man by the cash register graciously explained the items on the menu in his best broken English and even came out to give us a dessert sampler. We also ordered a green apple gelato before leaving. In a pinch, this place keeps your belly (and your spouse) from grumbling until the next train arrives.

Binario is a perfect place for hang outs with cappucino or having brunch in a very relaxed setting. Beautiful mountains, pretty pastel houses and tons if vegetarian food! It was so good that we went thrice in a row! If you are staying in Perledo, (which btw is the best of all the places in Como) do go to Binario, it has great options for vegetarians:)

Although this magnificent city is full of amazing places, this café and specialities is my favorite! This train station is a great place, especially for train-travel-lovers ❤! Very friendly service and crowded with local people!

Great little pit stop for a tea and some petite fours while we waited for our train back to Milan. It was a nice find after a long day walking around the lakes.

Staff was lovely, honestly the best food spot we tried in Italy so far! food itself is not pricey, definitely recommend the Spaghetti alla Carbonara - and the little cakes they have on display too ☺ we only paid around €38 for five cakes and two main dishes, as well as two drinks and we were both very full so I would say the food is worth the money!

Good place to store your luggage. 5 euros a day for a small suitcase

Amazing food, which is individually quite well priced. Extras cost a little more, like coffee, but totally worth it. Although the staff don't speak much English, the menus are in English and Italian, so make it easy to choose what you want. The pasta is delicious and the pizzas are huge. The best place for miles around.

The strawberry crepes are amazing, I highly recommend them. Didn't expect food to be this good in a train station bar.

We were worried when we saw mixed reviews of this cafe, but I had delightful coffee and the sweets were very good. Clean bathroom and much nicer than waiting for the train inside the station.

Not questioning previous but this dumb tourist got good food quickly at a fair price. There are times perfection is not available...

Luggage storage 5 euros a day per bag until 9 pm

You're at the station in Varenna and you need an espresso and a treat. The best pastry I had while visiting Varenna was at Ill Binario Bar. It's a tiny location, and I suspect they get their pastries off-site, but they were delicious.

The staff is friendly and helpful as well, so I recommend that you arrive at the station early so you can have a treat before getting on your train!

The owner if the café is really helpful! She provided some transfer for a whole group of people with nowhere to go, after a national trenord strike! Thanks, again!

Sweets are wonderful. We love the Piadine for lunch or dinner. Breakfast every morning of hour stay in Varenna. No lake view but also not touristy.
