YANAGAWA TACHIBANA-TEI OHANA

Situated right near where the boat ride ends, Yanagawa Tachibana-Tei Ohana is really a great place to visit even for a meal. We didn't stay in the hotel, but we did book a private room at their restaurant (which you will need a reservation for). The private rooms have access and a beautiful view of the serene garden while you enjoy a kaiseki meal. They also serve a great unagi no seiromushi (a marinated and steamed unagi and served in laquerware).

Excellent hotel in the heart of Yanagawa. The service was top notch. A significant portion of their staff speaks English. When one of my party had trouble sleeping, they went above and beyond to solve the problem.

Are here and it was great. They accommodated our very late arrival which was lovely.

The Ohana Hotel provides excellent service, comfortable rooms and one of the tastiest Japanese breakfasts I have had. From the moment we walked in the door until we checked out the next morning, the staff did everything they could to make our stay memorable. They provided suggestions for sightseeing, where to eat lunch and ways to experience the entire Ohana Tachibana property. Thank you to all of the staff for such a wonderful visit!

We stayed just two nights but wished that we could stay longer. Very welcoming and attentive service. We had our young daughter and the staff were all understanding and accommodating, in addition to regular help with everything. The location is quiet, and Yanagawa is quite scenic with small town charm. We stayed in the Japanese style room. The higher floor is much better if you are able to book it. We enjoyed the package with both dinner and breakfast. Both are served in the restaurant. The kaiseki dinner they serve is very tasty and substantial, and really appropriate for this price range.

Nice place. Famous with unagi eel dish. I Really enjoy the time stay at this historical hotel.
They also work wiz one of Yanagawa boat company. Provide shuttle bus to the start point. The boat ride end at this hotel.

Excellent on the hotel hospitality and environmental....but the Onsen compliment by hotel is at third party hotel which it was a bit old and lack of maintenance.

Traditionally beautiful place to know about Japanese history.

Spend the entire day in Yanagawa.

素晴らしいホテルでした。華族制度廃止、財産税等戦後の混乱期にお屋敷をホテル、宴会場として残した立花家の方々の英知に感服しました。
お庭を見ながら食べる朝ごはんも美味しく、スタッフの方々も非常に親切で、居心地良く過ごせました。夜のラウンジで提供されるドリンクも美味しい。

結婚式、披露宴が開催されているため、1部利用できないお部屋がありました

2月に来訪、ひな祭りのさげもんの飾り付けがあり華やかでとても美しかったです

大広間は入れず残念でしたがバルコニーから、美しい日本庭園を眺めることができました
草木が良くて入っていれしされており、庭があります。敷地外には川もあり良いところです

歴史や当時の暮らしに思いを馳せることもできます

江戸時代を大半を治めた立花家。大名家の居宅として使われていましたが、武士の時代が終わり何かをして食べて行かないと生きていけなくなりました。そこでここを料亭として経営し、今に続いています。大広間は圧巻ですが、結婚式などで見れない時もあります。お庭は名勝に指定されています。居宅から座って眺めて綺麗に見えるように設計されています。
ホテルやレストランもあります。

昔の大広間で食べたのとは違い、今は料亭で提供される鰻蒸籠蒸し。高級でスマートになったけど、風情は薄れてしまった様な気がします

団体の観光で史料館等の見学と昼食で鰻のせいろ蒸しをいただきました。（宿泊はしていません。）
見学の方は置いといて鰻のせいろ蒸しですが、焼いた鰻を最後に蒸してしまうので、せっかくの蒲焼きの香ばしさが減ってしまうのははっきり言ってマイナスポイントですが、ご飯がその分美味しくなったと思えば良いかなと。関東の蒸して焼く、関西の蒸さずに焼く、とも違った鰻の食べ方は勉強になりました。

日本庭園は、素晴らしかったです。池にいる鴨をみていると心が和みました。隣の川には川下りの舟が見えて風流でした。
鰻も頂きましたが、とても美味しかったです。ご馳走様でした。

宿泊でなくても、中を拝見することができます。
ちょうど雛祭りの飾りを展示されていて、見応えがありました。
お隣の立花家の資料館も良かったです。

最高の3日間を過ごせました。
場所やサービスが良く、
お店探しにも親身に対応して頂きました。
また、敷地内にショップや資料館があるのも
土地勘のない私には良かったです。
今回は朝食のみでの宿泊となりましたが、
来年は夕食も付きで宿泊したいと思います。
