The egg with eel is the best I've had Crazy good Egg is runny in the middle, sweetish coupled with the smoky eel. Divine. Had the bamboo steam rice with eel. Equally good. Remember to take a number first even if the shop is still closed.

Frankly speaking, eating so many eel dishes at once is a bit overwhelming. But I like the appetizer of eel and cucumber. This part of the eel is elastic; the eel tamagoyaki is unexpectedly large and delicious (five times the size of ordinary tamagoyaki) ; the eel rice itself is smoked in a wooden box, so The rice is very tasty. Walking along the corridor of the restaurant is very nostalgic.

Outstanding grilled eel with rice that truly lives up to its glorious heritage of over 150 years. Perhaps it's the way it is being prepared, broiled first, basted in sauce before being grilled. The price point is definitely very reasonable for this level of quality.

Best unagi rice I have ever had. I got the set and everything tasted so good. The rice was savoury and fragrant after sucking in all the juice/ sauce from the eel. The eel omelette was delicious as well. The soup was the cherry on top for me. They put a tiny slice of lemon in it and it was so refreshing. I have never had soup like that. It was truly satisfying.

What else to say.... Unagi don... Tasty no matter which type you pick, just make sure you pick the right size I guess. Pick up a number at the reception first, then proceed to the entry on the left side of the reception. A few parkings are available next to the main entry but could get a bit tight. An overflow parking is somewhere behind the shop.... Should look it up on the map first just in case you need to park.

Not a long wait on a Monday around 2pm. Best Unagi I ever had. The slight charcoal taste on the unagi makes it stands out from others

Worth the wait and hype, best Eel Rice we had in Japan. The restaurant dated back the 18th Century and have been using the same recipe of Grilled Eel, what i liked the most is actually the set up of the entire place, a lots of characters and you feel like you are back in the good old days of Japan.

Perfect unagi don here! You can choose either a steam style or a grilled style. Both are very delicious! The eel itself is very fresh and meaty. And this place is suitable for small and big crowds. If you take the river boat ride from the train station, it is only a 5-min walk from the drop off point.

Whether you are a tourist or a local, people come here for the Eel-Rice-in-Steamer. the question is which size box to order. its unique and different from the typical Eee-Rice that's served around the globe now a days.
Normal steamed rice is first mixed evenly with the house special sauce then placed inside a wooden box lined with a lotus leave at the bottom and steamed, then grilled eel is placed on top for a second steaming, the second time steamed rice is then put inside a red lacquered box to serve to the customers. the moment of lifting the lid off was filled with anticipation and excitement.

The quality of Unagi is superb. Best unagi have ever tasted. Also it was our first time trying the Unagi fish bone (Eel hone senbei - unagi the bones are roasted and then fried in oil). The kids loved it too!

Ordered the Jo-Seiromushi which is steamed eel on kabeyaki rice in a bamboo basket. The taste is exquisite and well worth the price even though it’s a little bit more expensive comparatively. Highly recommended!

You can choose either a steam style unagi don or a grilled style unagi don, both are very delicious! For the steam style, the rice is well mixed with the sauce and the juicy, thus I think it is more delicious. Hence, It seems that the steam style is more popular by both the Japanese people and the tourists.
