Konokono Beach Resort

My mother and I enjoyed a delightful three-day stay at this hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly and cooperative, always ready to assist. When a water pipe broke, they promptly provided an alternative, offering a can of water for showering. The diverse and delicious menu changed daily for dinner, and the breakfast was equally tasty, served by friendly staff. The quiet ambiance and breathtaking view make it a highly recommended retreat. Our garden villa, complete with a personal plunge pool, was spacious, immaculate, and included a daily supply of fresh water bottles. The rooms were consistently clean, and the staff throughout the hotel were welcoming and accommodating. We stayed for 2 nights in the Beach Pavilion at Konokono during Valentine’s Day and it was an unforgettable experience.

We had dinner at the over the water restaurant at Isaraya (the conjoined hotel) on our first night and then an amazing buffet on the beach for Valentine’s Day with yellowfin tuna, a fire and and live music - the setting was divine. Both meals were included in our half board booking and they were easily two of the best meals of our whole stay in Zanzibar.

The staff were attentive and cheerful and the beach itself is genuinely stunning. We highly recommend the beach pavilion as the view of sunset from the room is unparalleled.

Thank you to the team at Konokono for a magical stay. We will definitely be coming back for longer in the future.

Having a lovely stay here! Super attentive staff, great facilities, ultimate relaxation. Food is great, atmosphere is nice. They go above and beyond! The staff deserve a raise for how much effort they put in making sure everyone has everything they need and at such speed too! 10/10.

What an absolutely magical stay at this resort. The place is beautiful with amazing white sands, crystal sea and beautiful lounge area with this amazing view. Greeted on arrival with an amazing welcome and escorted to our spacious villa. The meals on the terrace were amazing and it was so special that they arranged a birthday dinner on the beach for my grandson's 13th birthday.
We were welcomed every day with the warmthest and most joyful smiles and nothing was too much for the staff.
Would recommend this resort most highly as a great experience to ne enjoyed by families and couples seeking R & R in luxury.

We ended our safari in Zanzibar and upon arriving at Konokono we were greeted by Rebecca who presented us with a cold towel and Peter who gave us a detailed briefing and Introduced us to the team who will be looking after us. The welcome at the resort set the tone for the next 3 days as we were spoilt. The villas are tastefully decorated each with its own private plunge pool which is cleaned twice daily. We were a family of 3 traveling and were given a lovely cot for our baby.

The food was exceptional and we experienced a lovely beach dinner as well.

Staff at the resort are extremely friendly and well mannered. Mohammed and his team were a delight at every meal period.

We have taken memories of this special resort and hope to return one day!

I recently had the privilege of staying at the Konokono Beach Resort in Zanzibar, and I can confidently say that it was an experience that surpassed all my expectations. From the moment I arrived until the day I reluctantly checked out; every aspect of my stay was nothing short of extraordinary.

I opted for one of the luxurious private villas at Konokono, and it was like a dream come true. The villa was spacious, elegantly designed, and offered breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. The interior was tastefully decorated with a perfect blend of modern amenities and traditional Zanzibari charm. The highlight was the private infinity pool overlooking the sea – it was pure bliss to relax there with a glass of wine at sunset.

Service:
The staff at Konokono Beach Resort truly understand the meaning of hospitality. They greeted me with warm smiles and a refreshing welcome drink upon arrival. Throughout my stay, they were always attentive, polite, and ready to assist with any request. Whether it was arranging a special candlelit dinner on the beach or providing recommendations for excursions, their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident.

The resort's dining options were a gastronomic delight. The main restaurant offered a diverse menu of international and local dishes, all prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. I also had the chance to experience their beachside BBQ, where the seafood was so fresh it practically melted in my mouth. The breakfast buffet was a treat, with a wide selection to suit all tastes.

Me and my husband visited this hotel on a weekend in April, 2021. We booked the hotel on Saturday of the weekend we were going to stay there. We got an amazing deal for a villa (with a plunge pool). It was an amazing experience. The resort cleanliness, the staff, the food, the beach, the free activities (kayaking, snooker pool, pedal boat, etc.), the room and the plunge pool was all worth every penny we spent on!! The food is highly recommended - extremely fresh and delicious. We are vegetarian so the chef and the hotel manager was kind enough to tweak the dishes (from the fixed menu) to our taste. As this was a last minute plan, we did not even have a charger to charge our phones...we were helped with that as well several times. Thank you so much Konokono. Just one complain we had was for the room service which was a bit slow. Rest, it was an unforgettable experience!

We stayed at an over water bungalow and it was breathtaking. These private rooms come with a soling tub and body scrubbing creams. There is also a rain shower, a water closet with a bidet, an extra large king bed and outside we have steps that walk down int the ocean. The design and decor is incredible and is thoughtful. We also have our own private pool and all other amenities like a safe, house keeping twice daily and a selection of drinks. The bungalows have their own exclusive restaurant that only five villas can attend if you don't feel like going up to the standard part of the buffet. There is a large pool for the whole resort but renting an over water bungalow is the way to go. The only bad thing about this resort is that the power grid will go out on occasion for 2-10 minutes before it kicks back on and also the water pressure sometimes just completely cuts out which is frustrating. But overall I give this resort a B+ to and A-

The food is well done as the chef is from Belgium and creates a fusion of French/local cuisine for every meal.

Amazing. Location and suroundings of the property are beautiful, quiet and very safe. Personnel is the best, very kind and always ready to help. Cleanness, food and all other services are excellent. Beach was quiet and relaxing with no music at all. You can actually listen some birds.

Beautiful location and amazing villas. Staff is extremely hospitable and accommodating. Breakfast spread is limited however it is all excellent and flavorful. Dining menu is leaning towards locals cuisines but still have options for everyone. Resort is fairly isolated which is the way we wanted it as we were looking for a relaxed holiday with minimal excursions. Bonus star for their duo of magical masseuses, they truly could rejuvenate your tired body and soul.

We had the honour of staying in both the 2 room sea view villa at the Konokono Beach Resort and the water villa at Isaraya Water Villas.
We had such an amazing time, everything was perfect from the minute we entered the resort till the end. I was specially impressed with the top managements control over the resort and the friendly way he treated the staff and visitors. He was always willing to assist.
The rest of the staff (reception, waiters, massage therapists, shefs ect) was equally effective and very polite.

The villas were clean, spacious and safe.

Lovely hotel with great looking beach. The room (villa) was large with good spacing. Excellent food options for both breakfast and dinner(both were including fresh fruit bar). The beach is very good with with sand and not crowded. The water is clear especially at high tight. No coral reefs near, only sandy/grass bottom (not good for snorkeling) and the water gets muddy on bottom at low tide (beach shoes are needed)

I can honestly say, this is one of the most coolest places I've ever stayed in. staff is friendly and place is clean.
be carefull from the monkeys though. but I guess that's normal considering u're staying in the middle of a forest.
TIP: if you're renting a car, make sure u arrive there at morning as the road from the main highway to the location is very bumpy and not easy (most of zanzibar is like this by the way)

I enjoyed my stay here. It’s a very clean resort (private pool cleaned daily and room cleaned every morning and in the evening when you’re at dinner). Their restaurants with its 5 course dinners is very decent, and you can ask for your table to be set up at the beach. Also canoes and SUPs available.

Simply AMAZING! Incredible long white pristine beach (sand is really powder like...), clear water, far from noise and crowded places. Spacious villas, well furbished and with private small pool. The food was excellent with a different set-up for every night (Swahili dinner is a must...). Smiling staff. If you are looking for a relaxing, authentic and luxury place, Konokono must be your choice!
