Isaraya Luxury Over Water Villas

We had an incredible stay at Isaraya Luxury Over Water Villas. The staff was absolutely incredible, friendly, and accommodating. The accommodations were clean, neat, spacious, and beautiful. We had a floating breakfast provided every morning at our private pool and amazing multi-course, plated dinners every night. Incredible out of this world views. Truly a once in lifetime experience! Highly recommend.

The journey to Isaraya is an hour and 30 from the airport, a relatively simple journey. The roads are mostly dirt and it gets very bumpy to the end past the konokono sign near the villa. However, once you are here, it is absolutely beautiful. We have had such a positive experience, amazing villa and amazing customer service/hospitality. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are really nice and affordable. All fresh and made, the quality of food used is great and salad is washed with mineral water. Beatrice has been a lovely host and accommodates for any need you have. Ask for any excursions you want to do and she can sort you out. Tip: book safari in advance as seats on the plane are limited. The reception to konokono has monkeys playing around. There is a smart tv (netflix, youtube etc) and strong/stable wifi constantly throughout the area. Bugs wise you will see the occasional here and there but very tame. Villa was cleaned in the morning and kept the room fresh. The pool would also be cleaned in the mornings. The plug type is UK but with a tool (that staff have), you can plug in international 2 pin plugs too. If you plan to use the massage facilities, make sure to have cash (either USD or TZS) but the hotel room service can be paid with card and during your excursions there are several ATM spots. Beside the villa, 2 minute walk there is jetski and transparent kayak (not part of the hotel service). Location wise, the island from west to east is at most an hour and 40 minutes by car so plan ahead but it’s never a problem. Overall, it was the best experience and we really enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommend this to family and friends.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Isaraya Luxury Over water villa found in Konokono Hotel during my vacation in Zanzibar. I stayed at the villa from 15-may-2023 and had an incredible experience.

The location of Konokono Hotel is truly breathtaking. Situated on a pristine beachfront, the resort offers stunning views of the turquoise waters and white sandy beaches. The tranquility and natural beauty of the surroundings provided a perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway.

The accommodation at Konokono Hotel exceeded my expectations. I stayed in one of their luxurious villas, which was spacious, beautifully designed, and impeccably clean. The villa boasted modern amenities and a private terrace that overlooked the ocean, creating a serene and private atmosphere.

The service at Konokono Hotel was exceptional. The staff members were warm, friendly, and attentive throughout my stay. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel welcome and catered to my every need. The receptionists were helpful in arranging activities and providing recommendations for local attractions.

The hotel's facilities and amenities were top-notch. The infinity pool was a highlight, offering a refreshing escape from the heat with its breathtaking views. The spa services provided were also exceptional, allowing me to indulge in rejuvenating treatments. The fitness center was well-equipped and provided a great space for workouts.

The view was unbeatable. Nothing like being surrounded by water when you open your eyes in the morning. Watching the sunrise in the ocean from the comfort of your bed is undescribable. The food was amazing and staff were really friendly too. A perfect vacation place to unwind and relax

Wow, I honestly have too much to say about our stay and its all amazing. We actually extended our stay another 2 days because we didn’t want to leave. We stayed in the over water villas and they lived up to all the images and the advertising. The rooms are well maintained and the staff was amazing. Peter made sure that everything regarding our room was taken care of. Mohammed and James handled our meal service, reservation and entertainment, they went above and beyond. Chef Elizabeth, we honestly tried to take her home with us, all of the meals were well prepared, unique and the everything we consumed was amazing.

Prior to our trip, we read reviews about the noice and music being too loud but, it didn’t bother us at all given the fact that there are other hotels and restaurants in the same area which we visited as well. Many people also mentioned issues with the high tide versus low tide, for us it was part what made the trip a unique experience. It is seasonal and a natural occurring event. During our stay, the tide fell during the evenings into the night so there will be plenty of chances to take a dip into the ocean from your deck don't worry.

The beach is well maintained and there aren’t a lot people making attempts to sell you souvenirs as you may encounter throughout other beaches and within Stone Town.

We honestly didn't want to leave and we are definitely looking forward to a return.

We stayed in the isaraya over water bungalows and they were absolutely beautiful. Based on other over the neater bungalows around the world these are definitely much more affordable for all of the same luxuries. Staff cleaned our room daily, brought fresh towels that were still warm from the dryer, and did them down service nightly. The general manager, Gilbert and his wife, Crystal, who run a majority of the resort are some of the kindest people and went beyond out of their way to ensure that we have a great stay. Also, there are Maasi men who are security on the property 24/7. We felt extremely safe and well taken care off. The selection of breakfast food is vast and all the of the fruit is fresh and delicious. We ate at the Isaraya restaurant and the set 5 course menu is what you could expect from a fine dining high end restaurant, not just resort food. We would absolutely recommend staying here and it was absolutely one of the favorite places we have stayed out of the hundreds of 5 star hotels we have stayed in! I would say my ONE and only “complaint” is that is is a little bit of drive from the airport m, but taxis are reasonable prices and we had no problems!

The place was amazing. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Room has anything you could ask for except for a trash can. Food is great but small portions if you are a big eater. The cabins are well maintained but privacy is compromised. The shower area is glass so anyone swimming outside the cabin and clearly see inside. For Muslims there is no built in bidet in the toilets so get your own portable one with you!

We really wanted to get a water villa but they were sold out when we booked - the day before our arrival🤦🏻‍♀. To our surprise, at check in, Peter told us we got a room upgrade from garden villa to a water villa! And everything was just perfect: room decor, the shower overlooking the sea, the bathtub, the sun beds, the room service, the empty beach, the popular Kae bar across the beach with a DJ and a bon fire in the evenings, to name a few. It was the most relaxing and peaceful location to spend our holiday.
Everybody was very helpful and kind, from our driver to the waiters, the Masai guards and receptionists!

Breathtaking does not begin to describe the beauty of Zanzibar. Isaraya has done a great job capturing a luxury experience of the Island for tourists. The staff are very attentive and the rooms are impeccable. Only thing I would have hoped to experience more of was Tanzanian cuisine. Otherwise, everything was perfect!

Best place ever visited so far in zanzibar, excellent service and the villas over the water are amazing. If you want to relax and enjoy tranquility then it is the place to be.

Beautiful hotel beautiful beach one of its own kind and the isaraya its top notch I haven’t stayed but just a quick visit can’t wait to experience it
