wait was very short. staff was honest when a larger denomination bill was presented and better than usual gratuity was great fully given

Perfect diner style breakfast. Best hashbrowns I’ve had in years. Great atmosphere, staff was great, and the other people eating were friendly also. Great place to stop before or after you fuel up at Loves.

Really good burger, crisp bun, great fried mushrooms, great waitress staff, descent prices. Place has a 50s diner feel with racing pictures. Definitely comfortable and pretty clean.

The people and the food were great! Don't mess this hidden gem.

My wife, my two sons, and I recently had breakfast here with my sister, my brother in law, my four nieces, and my dad. The food was good. The service was very personable and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. We will surely be visiting this establishment again for breakfast in the future. Bates City Cafe is in an old converted gas station. The ambiance matches a gas station/race car theme. The food is traditional Americana Cafe food and is very tasty! Today I had the meat loaf special, that was fantastic! I'm not a huge fan of green beans, but theirs was very tasty! I also had a small piece of pecan pie which was just the right size to finish my meal. I will be back!

We stopped in by chance on a motorcycle ride with no preconceived notions. The inside decor is racecar garage meets 50s diner. One side is open to the kitchen. The staff were warm, friendly, and helpful. The cooks were nice as well! We each had patty melts; patty, cheese, and rye were on point. I had sweet potato fries: crispy and perfectly seasoned. My spouse had fries: crispy and delicious as well. We'll definitely be back. Thank you for the great experience!

I always order plain cheeseburgers on my first visit and places like this knocked it out of the ballpark. Great service great people great atmosphere amazing burger beef cheese bun toasted got it for take away was great on the road

Hands down the BEST southwest chicken philly I’ve ever had. If you haven’t had one yet, you’ve got to try it! I recommend you get a side of fries with it and add cheese and bacon 😋

First time eating here. It was a good experience. Reminded me of diners I went to when I was a kid. Food was good. Good selection of diner options with a daily special. We didn't have to wait long and the prices were extremely reasonable. This will definitely be on our list of places to eat! Try it, you'll go back.

Just popped in for lunch on a cross country road trip (driving two 26' Uhauls). The service was perfect for a diner with nostalgic decor. Sandwiches were great, and the homemade strawberry key lime pie had the most amazing smashed pretzel crust! I don't know if we'll ever be back this way, but if we are we'll definitely dine here again!

Fast and friendly service, and probably the best french dip I've ever had. Fries were fresh and crispy too.

Great food. Excellent service. Wonderful people. Try the tenderloin, loaded with horseradish. Yum! yum! We stop every time we get the chance when passing through.
