I recently had the pleasure of dining at Corner Cafe, and it exceeded all my expectations. This charming establishment offers a delightful array of Southern-style comfort food that truly warms the soul. The chicken fried steak was cooked to perfection, boasting a crispy exterior and tender, flavorful meat inside. And don't even get me started on the strawberry pie - it was absolute heaven on a plate! The flaky crust paired perfectly with the sweet, juicy strawberries, making for a dessert I won't soon forget. Oh, and let's not overlook their cinnamon rolls - they're simply divine! The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff only added to the wonderful experience. If you're craving hearty, homemade dishes and delectable pies, look no further than Corner Cafe. Highly recommend!

My mom and I stopped here on a whim just looking for something to eat for dinner that was close to our hotel. I’m so glad we stopped in!

I ordered the chicken noodle soup (small) and my mom had a Ruben sandwich. Both looked absolutely amazing. My chicken noodle soup looked homemade. Our waitress was super nice and went the extra mile to look for a tshirt for me. This is a definite yes from me if you’re looking for some good food and some really cool pictures and displays.

Great experience! Our server was fun and very helpful, especially when it came time to order, and i didn't know what to get! She made some recommendations, and i very much enjoyed the pot roast. Had a few bites of my husbands chicken fried steak too, yummy!

The best way I can describe this restaurant is if Cracker Barrel & Lambert's had a baby on steroids (minus the flying dinner rolls) it would be the Corner Cafe. My husband and I stopped here for the first time on a busy Saturday at lunchtime. The place was packed and their was a short wait if you wanted a table. We opted for a seat at the counter and ended up getting to watch quite a show. The amount and variety of food that constantly flew out of the kitchen was very impressive. The waitresses were absolute rockstars juggling the chaos like well choreographed dancers. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure our drinks were never empty. My husband had the biscuts & gravy, and I had the chicken noodles. Both were excellent. We got a cinnamon roll and pecan sticky bun to take back to our hotel room which were amazing as well. We enjoyed our lunch so much we went back later that same night for dinner. Chicken strips, homemade onion rings, and the "Half a Heffer" burger did not disappoint. We left with full bellies and plenty of leftovers. We will definitely be going back the next time we are in Independence.

Oh my goodness the food here was so delicious and so much! I’am so glad we decided to try this restaurant . We been there twice so far and I really want to try their Breakfast menu! Definitely going back! So Yummy!

We have been there several times, and each time has been a wonderful experience. Staff have always been helpful and pleasant. The food has always been fantastic. We order something different each time we go. I would highly recommend trying, if you haven't already!

I love this place! I moved from Missouri a few years ago, but was in town for an event so jumped at the chance to eat here. Everything here is great....I especially like the chicken fried chicken and their pies! It's food like Grandma used to make. Service is always good too... everyone is so nice! If you have the chance to eat here, take it....you won't be disappointed!

The food is always good. Their service is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is upbeat. It isn't small like you might think with the name Corner Cafe. They can accommodate a large group, but be kind and call ahead! Not sure they'd welcome a busload though, but they are less than a 1/4 mile from I-70. Breakfast is served all day and their menu selection is good for whatever you're hungry for, think true-home-cooking and large dinner rolls that are freshly baked are SO good, with daily specials, and pies! My, oh my you'll love their pies. Whole pies or sliced. And salads, too. We've never been disappointed with the food or service and waiting to be seated is rare, but better than most for the areas to sit if you do wait. Plus there's a bar counter if you'd prefer. I always order water, my husband says the tea is good and I think they serve beer and possibly other adult beverages, but look online. Also, the servings are healthy in size. The staff are happy and a fun-loving group of kind people.

Our waitress was friendly, patient, and helpful. Loved the French toast, but my hash browns were awful (greasy), she was kind when I told her and she offered me a refund, different side or remade hash browns. We met some friends there and they didn't care that we hung out after eating to chat, cups stayed full which is ALWAYS a hint on how you know you have a great waitress!! Very busy but we only waited 20 minutes at lunchtime on a Saturday!!

We ordered by door dash so I'm not sure about the service or atmosphere but the food is another story.
Everything was amazing! Excellent down home flavors, just enough left over to nibble on later and are looking forward to it!! 😋
We ordered the tenderloin dinner, Corner (patty) melt, okra, cabbage, French fries, sweet potato fries and a couple slices of pies.
I can't say enough about the cabbage...tasted just like Grandma's! 🤤
Honestly the only thing that could be improved upon was the sweet potato fries were not cooked thoroughly but I just popped em the air fryer and they were good to go.
Thank you for the great meal it really hit all the spots.

If you’ve never been here, you’re missing out! This place is a gem! Friendly and helpful service, variety of menu items for both breakfast and dinner, the food was cooked to period and very good, plus it’s very affordable. This might be our new favorite weekend breakfast/lunch spot.

This was my first time eating here. We were greeted and seated immediately. It was around 1:30 p.m. Our server took our drink orders and gave us the menus. When she came back she asked if we were ready to order. My sister told her it was my first time here and she was so polite and funny and said to take my time because there was a lot of little print on those 2 front and back menus. I ordered the BLT with a side of sweet potato fries. It didn't take long for our food to arrive and it smelled delicious. The portions were very generous and it was every bit as delicious as it smelled and looked! I like that they serve the mayonnaise on the side so you can use the amount you want. After eating I was too full to eat dessert there. My sister told me how big and yummy their cinnamon rolls were so we got some to take home. She was right! They were huge and tasted homemade. Everyone was so friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed, like sitting at your kitchen table with family. I highly recommend Corner Café in Independence, MO! I will be back and I'm bringing my husband so he can try it. I know he won't be disappointed!

Very local, very good food! You have to try this place! I've done breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and it's all good. All day breakfast. And try the cinnamon roll...yum! Homemade pies. Soooo yummy!

The Corner Cafe was amazing as always. The food had lots of flavor, and came out quick. The server was kind and helpful. The decorations were entertaining and fun.

The club croissant was delicious. I had a slice of coconut cream pie, which is almost as good as my grandma's. The slice of chocolate cream pie was also good.

Lisa was amazing. We had a little problem but she fixed it fast and with a smile. First time eating here and it was amazing. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you Lisa! MAJOR KUDOS!

One of those old-fashioned places you never want to miss. Food was fantastic service was even great.Waitress danced around throw out every music that came on it was funny. So if you ever have a chance to stop, it's a good stop and you'll leave happy. Pies are fantastic. Try the banana split pie.

First time eating here and this place is lights out on everything! Service is wonderful, staff is friendly, orders are accurate, food is hot, and the menu choices are great! I had breakfast and dinner here in the same day and it was delicious!! Thanks again! A++++
