J's Carry Out

What a wonderful little diner filled with a line of regular customers on Friday noon! The burgers are big. The onion rings are crispy. The iced tea is fresh and refills on on the house. Then you leave with a small dish of ice cream or a cone.

I was working in Emporia Kansas when I saw this little diner it's a tiny place with a drive through and some outside seating the staff were very friendly for the amount of people ordering and drive through they were very fast to get the food out to customers we had ordered to go but decided to stay after we sat down they brought my DBL cheese burger and tots the size of the meat was very good it tasted amazing the staff made sure are drinks were always full as they had free refills their menu had a variety of foods when we were done eating they offered us what I believe was a homemade vanilla ice cream cone if you area ever in the are I recommend you try this treasure of a place out also prices were very reasonable

EXCELLENT place to eat or drive through. Best burger in the Flint Hills. Family owned and operated. The free after ice cream is worth the stop alone.

I loved the chili cheese tots and burger. I wish I had gotten a different angle on the photo of son’s burger. It was 4 patties high, and he didn’t think he could eat it all!!
There is a nice vibe here. 1st time we got to dine inside! Friendly owners and staff.

This is a small gem, limited parking and indoor seating but well worth the stop. I got curly fries and tenderloin sandwich for $10. A real bargain as the sandwich was hot and fresh with a ton of curly fries. Not to mention, free drink refills and a free cup of soft serve for dessert.

Best spot in Emporia! Justin keeps it the same as always unless it's improving on old methods! Hands down the place I will visit every time I'm home!

I've been going to J's Carry Out for quite a few years! It's hamburgers, fries and mini corn dogs are my favorite. Oh, and the ice cream is yummy. Their ice tea is the best anywhere!

Pizza burger was awesome and amazing great service and atmosphere definitely coming back for a hole in the wall restaurant definitely worth going better than any chains

Small place, but don't let that shy you away.
I noticed they do a lot of call-in orders. Didn't witness any unhappy customers.
Good old-fashioned type hamburgers. Not greasy !
Food is made as ordered / fresh, yet order is processed timely.

AMAZING pork tenderloin sandwich! Crispy onion rings and WONDERFUL service! We walked in about 10 minutes before they closed and still got great service. They invited us to sit down and seen to our every need. Absolute professionals in the best way! We will definitely be back again soon!

The food is amazing! It's a small place, not much seating, but it's definitely worth it! Dine in or carry out! They will give you a soft serve ice cream cone free!

Traveling… we were in the mood for a good burger. So glad we chose this place. Food, service, everything was great! We sat outside… a beautiful evening.

best home grown burger in town hands down. you can watch the sizzle on the grill right before your eyes.

Went back to this place after several years, to have a very quick lunch. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger… It was among the best burgers that I could imagine. It rivaled the mushroom Swiss burger that I had in Lawrence after not being able to eat for three full days, which will make anything taste good… this was better.
