Pho Bann Lao

Passing through Emporia and was craving Thai food so I stopped to try this place out and couldn’t have been happier! The staff was very attentive and nice, the food was great, and the prices weren’t bad at all!

The crab rangoons were on point and a lot bigger than I was expecting which was nice. I ended up getting the pad Thai with shrimp which was great as well.

The Thai tea was some of the best I had and they don’t give you a small glass of it either!

I will for sure stop back here on my next road trip!

A gem in beautiful downtown Emporia. A simple menu with something for everyone. My son had egg blossom soup which was very tasty, I had fried rice with tofu. Hot oolong tea rounded out our lunch. Not applicable to food, but some of the most interesting hard wood floors I have ever seen. Delightful.

What a pleasant surprise! Driving to Kansas City, found it on the map, and decided to try it out, based on average Google reviews. We are from SE Asia and are pretty picky about good food. Well, Pho Bannlao does not adjust their flavors for the midwestern palate. We had Thai items from the menu, and they're excellent. The mango sticky rice dessert is fabulous! The owners come from Laos, and a lot of the decorations (wood panels, etc.) are from Laos, and absolutely gorgeous. Good value too! Don't miss it!

Not crowded, good food, friendly waiter but felt a little rushed. Had the beef pho, it was pretty good. Enough for some leftovers. My friend had the curry and liked it.

Great waiter, he always seems to be genuinely glad you are there to eat and happy to answer any questions about the menu which is great if you don't know anything about Asian food. Portion sizes are larger than I can eat in one meal.

Yum! Beautifully cooked. Veggies were crunchy and everything tasted wonderful. Very friendly as well!

Loved it. The food was great and the staff was excellent. They didn't have a kids menu but they made special accommodations for our 2 year old. I only regret is that I haven't eaten here sooner. The Asian tiger wings are phenomenal and the drunken noodles were great as well. Good prices and large portions.

My sons and I ate there this past summer. Absolutely amazing! I believe I had the very best steamed dumplings in my life. I had the seafood Pho, or perhaps it was called the seafood Hot Pot - but it was fabulous! It's too bad I live over 3 hours away; I'd be there at least weekly!

My boyfriend and I went here for the first time the other day. We were wanting to try a hot pot. We decided on the seafood hotpot and IT WAS AMAZING. The waiter was helpful and could tell we wee a little out of our element, but he showed us how everything was done! We will definitely be back to try more at this amazing place.

Colorful, clean, very friendly staff. The food was amazing. We were checked on regularly, we never had an empty glass, or had to ask for anything. I had the beef pho which was amazing. Full of flavor and depth. Will be back.

I eat here on a weekly basis. Sam , the owner and his son, Justin are wonderful people. Their food is amazingly good. Service is excellent. They deserve all God’s blessings and your business.

This is one of the best restaurants in town: clean space, interesting menu, friendly staff, and DELICIOUS food. Also, the prices are very reasonable. Worth the stop if you're hungry and looking for something beyond a burger or BBQ in Emporia.

Delicious pho! Seriously amazing food. The staff there were the really nice. They treated us like we were friends visiting. I can't recommend this place enough. We'll be back there soon.

Fantastic food and very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Food is kinda pricey, but you really get what you pay for. Huge portions and seriously good food here. 10/10 would recommend.

Absolutely Authentic Laotian cuisine. Best chicken Pho ever. There are 3 spicy sauces - use them liberally and be sure to add the plate of sprouts, mint and cilantro. Amazing!

Delicious every time I visit! If you haven’t tried the spring rolls yet, you’re missing out on something wonderful. That peanut sauce on them... man I wish I could have it on everything 😋

Heard of pho for the first time from "Kevin can wait", thought it would be fun to try it. Happened across this local place that serves authentic pho, so we had to go. Restaurant is clean and quaint, owner was very nice and helpful. Tried several different kinds of pho. Most of us really liked it, except without all of the sprouts and herbs. A little bit of the herbs and sprouts goes a long way...at least your first time. I would definitely go back.

The papaya salad was sweet and spicy and salty. Great app to share. We had tom yum soup and pad khieng. Very good! Service was great.

The whole menu is delicious, the server recommends something new to try and it's always fantastic. Try their iced Thai tea, it goes very well with their pho.

Colorful and clean restaurant. We had crab Rangoon, green curry and yellow curry. It was so good! Spicy but very much a comfort food.
