The National Teachers Hall of Fame

So glad I stopped off!!!

It’s tucked away in the back of the first floor. You may have to ask for directions once you get there (I did). It didn’t have signs or people to direct you, but I’m glad I wandered until I found someone :-).

The work they do here is so so important, and they have a memorial to fallen teachers as well!!!

I work in this building and it’s one of the most attractive things in Kansas and in my building. I found it as a historic place because there is no other Teachers Hall of Fame in Kansas. This info made me proud. There are many good collections for them in here. Even the designs of the ancient class room pictures and cases are are too.

Interesting cillection of artifacts with nationally recognized teachers. The nearby Monument of Fallen Teachers us worth a stop

It is good that a teachers' HOF exists.

Closed 🔒 No notice on their website until you click on the Contact page. I stopped along my trip from Kansas City back to Houston so it wasn't like I went completely out of my way. But it would have been nice before I stopped to know they are not open except by appointment only and only certain times of the day.

Beyond that, I was hoping for more than one room in an education building. Insert snarky "middle-child-esque" commentary about how teachers are underwhelmingly appreciated.
