Riverside Diner

Absolutely delicious. My favorite is the corned beef hash, absolutely delicious. Chicken fried steak also is delicious.

What a gem in Ottawa! Hands down the best Diner Ive been to. Stopped in for a late lunch, on a very cold Thursday afternoon. Met w fresh coffee and a warm smile. Our Server had an established rapport w regular customers. She treated us like she's known us all her life, also. The most important factor is she did all this, while making us forget she was working. Seamless.
The quality of the food was a pleasant surprise. Real mashed potatoes! Portions were perfect. Produce: fresh and crisp. I was taken aback w flavor.
Know what I noticed after the quality of the meat? That I could taste it. Meaning the grill is clean.

I took 3 of my grandkids here for lunch. It was our first time. Very clean. Our waitress was great and helpful. Very reasonable in price. Huge portions. We all had enough left over for lunch the next day. Drinks never went empty. Will go back again. Their sides are a meal in themselves.

Stopped here for breakfast while passing through the area and what a good choice. Our waitress Jamie was one of the best we've ever encountered - friendly and enthusiastic without being annoyingly so. Her recommendations were spot on and, in spite of being alone out front, our coffee was always hot.
My biscuits and sausage gravy were as good as I've had in a restaurant and Rich's everything omelette was chock full of yummy ingredients all cooked to perfection. Our thanks to Jamie and the cook for getting our day off to a great start

They have lots of choices and the food is tasty. Good for kids or adults only. Nice family place and easy on price. Only complaint is the hours. They close at 8 pm and we often don't head out to eat until 7:30 pm. That means that at least half the times we would go here we end up eating elsewhere.

Terribly confused on some reviews people say "portions are too small" and on others "portions are perfect" and other "it is way more than expected". I think some people just eat too much and expect too much. 1 person mentioned it was less than they would eat at home. Maybe you eat too much. My sister said the food was good and portions were big and she does not eat out often and eats very healthy. Some people are too picky. A business has to make money and either you pay more or you get less. You cannot get a 5 pound cheeseburger with a pound of fries for $5. Just ate there. Had to split a meal & still couldn't finish it. Food is amazing homemade, service was great, place is clean & prices are reasonable

There's a new kitchen manager in back and a friendlier, more attentive wait staff up front. I judge a restaurant by their chicken fried steaks, how clean their facilities are (restrooms, tables and chairs/booths) and whether or not someone pays me the right amount of attention(refills, getting the check/to go boxes) and everything was impeccable! Can't even tell it used to be a Dairy Queen. It seems as though, they've oiled their machines, and straightened out their creases and kinks. Can't wait to go back!

The food is divine. The portions are filling no matter what you order. I wish I could eat there every day. The staff are so sweet. They will chat you up or leave you be whichever is your preference. They make everything fresh, so nothing tastes stale or old. This has become an instant favorite.

Just ate there, thought the food was great. Had to split the chicken-fried steak and a half with my wife still too much to eat. Great staff, at the owners kinda purty. Will be back again and again.

The food was wonderful! The wait staff was very friendly! Our new favorite diner now! We would definitely recommend stopping in to eat!

It was a foodgasmic experience. Everything is homemade, cooked to perfection, so fresh & flavorful. Staff was friendly service was fast. We will definitely be returning as it's our new favorite diner.

Best pork tenderloin that i have ever eaten. It is dinner plate size so be prepaired to get a doggy bag or share. Very good sides to choose from.

Just what you'd find in a diner. Food and service was great. Menu items were priced reasonably. Definitely get what you pay for and more. I couldn't eat all of my sandwich, had to heyyyyy a to go box.

We are from out of town and stopped to have breakfast on the way home. This food was fantastic! The pancake was HUGE and delicious, and the pecan sticky bun was AMAZING!

Very good food with reasonable prices. Cheeseburger and fries were fresh, hot and well seasoned. Toppings were on the side so you could add what you want.

Really good breakfast and love there fried potatos. There crispy cooked all the way. Everything is great. service is really good they are on top of it.
