Twisted Tail Steakhouse & Saloon

My husband and I are so happy we found this little jewel! Secluded from the busy town bustle, this small bar and grill really impressed us. From the minute we drove up, we were charmed by the cowboy decor. We came around 4, so it wasn’t too busy. The waiter was wonderful. He was attentive, concise, and polite. We had fried mushrooms for the appetizer. Best we have ever had! And the boom sauce was amazing. I had the shrimp plate, hubby had surf and turf. The shrimp are so big, it took four bites each! And so delicious. Hubs steak was incredible, juicy and tender! We will absolutely be going back many times!

Great little saloon in Beebeetown, IA. Official address is in Logan. Closest bigger town is Missouri Valley a bit west, and is North if Council Bluffs maybe 1/2hr or so.

It may be in the middle of no where, but it is quite nice inside, has a great menu, and from what we had, and what we’ve heard from others, the food is good. Our experience was great staff as well. Not much more you could ask for. It’s a popular stop for motorcycles, because you have have a nice trip through the scenic Loess (pronounced “Luss”) Hills, and stop for your lunch or dinner. But, make no mistake, this little place in the middle or nowhere will have good service, great food, and the atmosphere and ambiance are also good. It feels more like a trendy chain bar and grill, but with a small home town feel. Just didn’t have anything to complain about at all. We’ll be back sometime when we are in the area, and you should give it a try. Even if you don’t live close (we don’t either), it’s a nice scenic drive to get there on a casual Saturday or Sunday drive. We recommend you try it.

Home to Iowa's best burger 2020 so of course I had to get the burger. I agree. It was the best burger I have had in recent memory. A great stop if your in the area.

Broke down 40 miles down the road, so we pulled bike off trailer and looked for a plane to ride and eat. Great little spot to ride backroads and stop for a beer and a bite. Nice local people, good food!

Excellent meal for ALL 4 of us. 1 order of Onion Rings (crunchy batter + 2 dipping sauces). Ordered... 2 Burgers, 1 Chicken Sandwich, 1 Ribeye Sandwich. Food arrived at a reasonable time. Fries are ABOVE par due to a crispy coating they add (more flavor). Sweet potato fries are also good.
Will DEFINITELY go again. Waitress was super efficient and attentive. A lot of "locals" eat there... ranging from farmer/ranchers to construction contractors.

This phenomenally popular restaurant is situated a few miles north of I-880 at exit 21. Parking is very much catch as catch can, and on Friday night I was glad I got there early. This is rib night, starting at 5 PM. The place was already more than half full at 5:10, and there was a line waiting for seating at 6.
Service was prompt, and $25.15 plus tip (excellent service) purchased a half rack of very meaty ribs (7 bones) with a side of seasoned fries, a second side of onion rings, and a refillable soda (Coke products). The ribs were well prepared, and served wet. The sauce was neutral, leaning neither to the sweet nor the spicy, but instead sealing the moisture into high quality meat. Both sides were solid, but the onion rings were a real treat.
This was my 15th 'cue stop in Iowa, and the 336th in a BBQ odyssey now spanning 35 states. This one is definitely worth a return visit.

This place is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is so good! The staff is friendly! I love the sweet potato fries with the marshmallow dip.

Omg so amazing! This was our first time there and we were pleasantly surprised. Portions were great and the service was excellent. We ordered full rack of ribs, ribeye and fish. Can't wait to go back!

Defiantly will be back. Always heard great things. Finally had time to eat there. Burger was good and I tried the wife’s Philly cheese steak and it was amazing! Worth every penny!

We just had our family Thanksgiving/Christmas party! The staff did a wonderful job accommodating our big group! The food was great!

Ruth and Hannah went above and beyond! We arrived without a reservation. Even though we had to wait, the food was well worth it, which is why it was a packed house!

This establishment makes me feel like I am a kid again. My mom and dad used to bring me to Beebeetown, and we would go to the small convenience shop that used to be where Twisted Tail now resides. The food here is amazing...especially the Ultimate Burger (yes, you must be quite hungry to finish it). They offer great appetizers and sides (you must try the sweet potatoes fries with the marshmallow dip!), and the overall environment just feels Iowa all around. It brings back really great memories, and when you are done eating, you can take a short walk over to the ball field where you know many young baseball memories have been made over the years. My family definitely has their share of memories. Thank you for this restaurant and the people who run it faithfully even in these short-staffed times we find ourselves in right now. They have certainly made me and my family feel welcome each time we have come in. The food does take a while to make (that means it is fresh), but grab yourself an appetizer and have some good conversation. The wait is well worth it for sure!
