The Viking Steak & Seafood

My two boys and I had a delicious dinner. We decided to order the specials this evening. The hot turkey and hot roast beef sandwiches were excellent. The meat was perfectly tender and the mashed potatoes were creamy just like ole home cooking. The marinated chicken thighs were so juicy and full of flavor. Cozy family friendly setting topped off with great staff made a perfect evening out. Highly recommend!

Wonderful place to share good food with good friends. 1st time was last Friday. The friends we went with had not heard of the Viking and they live by Ft Calhoun! They loved it also. Prime rib and stuffed jumbo shrimp wonderful! So are the desserts, chocolate cake, pecan pie, and my husbands favorite...custard! Please go for a drive to enjoy the Viking restaurant in Blair. Our waitress Debbie is an exceptional young woman! Thank you Viking!

This place is a diamond in the rough, a true gem to have in Blair NE! The decor is dated, quirky, fun, lots of neat stuff to look at!! Food is consistent, homemade, always comes out steaming hott and incredibly delicious! Don't forget to save room for dessert!! Chocolate overload is phenomenal!!!

My husband has experienced a lot of 5 star steakhouses. This is by far the best!

As close to fine home cooking as you'll find. Good food that's made with care, and served with a smile. Support this small business the next time you go out for dinner.

The staff was very attentive and the food was great. Stopped for lunch and they had several specials to pick from. Choose the half order of hot beef with mashed potatoes, you could also do the full order for 2 dollars more. But for me this is enough.

Can't believe I waited this long to try. So impressed with the service and quality of food.

I never take the time to do Google reviews, but this place made a such an impression on me!! My boyfriend and I went in for a late night dinner looking to try something new. Post covid I have felt like it is next to impossible to get a competent server, let alone someone who is genuine and kind!
Our service was that and more, it felt like the entire staff took pride in the restaurant and weren't there just to make a quick buck!

He had the prime rib, steak fries (huge and delicious) and side salad. The cut and quality of meat was great. I went with the ribeye and it was one of the BEST steaks I've had in a very long time. The chef wasn't afraid to use seasoning on it and the favors were spot on (I asked what they used but he wont give up the secret blend of seasonings) and it was cooked perfectly.

By the end we were so stuffed it hurt, but I heard there was a red velvet cheesecake and so we ordered one to go....however when it got to the table in its togo box we both wanted to try a fresh bit which ended in eating the whole piece! It was too good to stop.

All in all if your looking for a chain restaurant, horrible service, over priced food, and long wait times this is NOT the place to go.

If you want a great meal, knowledgeable staff and friendly atmosphere this is the place to be! We will definitely be back!!

Thought we’d take a drive to Blair to try this place & it was so good I can’t wait to go back. It felt down home and very comfortable. Started with toasted raviolis & had the 2pc fried chicken with hash browns & a side of spaghetti. I opted to have the soup over a salad … homemade vegetable (FABULOUS)!! The chicken was so juicy & tender with a delicious hand dipped batter. My husband had liver & onions (nothing I’d pick) but he loved it ! Apparently it’s family owned and the staff is super friendly. This place is definitely worth the drive from Omaha !

I am a school bus driver and drive all over delivering teams for sports ect. I always try to find a nice family owned restaurant. I came in here about 4:45 and was as I often am, the only patron. The waiter for was very friendly and right on ball for service. Restaurant's are often not very busy a couple week nights especially in the summer because people are busy enjoying the weather. I ordered the sirloin which was excellent. It was cooked to perfection and very tender. I was surprised how tender because sirloin usually isn't as tender s this was. I got 2 sides and chose the spaghetti and the vegatable soup of the day. Both were excellent with good flavor. I would absolutely recommend and hope I get back to Blair again soon.

An unexpected jewel where you least expect. Place was clean and well kept. Food was full of flavor and fresh. Staff was knowledgeable and very personable. Will Def visit this place again. I highly recommend the drive, you won't be disappointed.

my family had heard not so great reviews about this place quite a few years back, it discouraged us from going. We decided to give it a try last night and were very pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was extremely polite and knowledgeable of the menu. Our daughter has severe food allergies and the chef came to our table and spoke with us to make sure we could find something she could eat there. The food was hot and looked appealing when served. We did not think the wait time between ordering and the food arrival was unreasonable. Our meals were delicious. Our 5 year old and 2 year old actually ate! My Grams , a retired chef (and a tough critic), was very pleased. Prices seemed reasonable to us also. The atmosphere was comfortable and all around we really just had a great experience here. We will be returning. Thank you Viking!

The Best Prime Rib around, very good flavor and very tender, cooked to perfection. And that was hard for me to say that because we have another Steak House in another town that we felt could not be beat but this restaurant beat. The staff is Fantastic, you couldn't find friendlier staff. If you had to rate this restaurant 1-10, 1 for bad, and 10 for Fantastic.I would rate it a BIG 10.

Jeff and his crew were awesome! Great service and even better food. Our group ordered a lot of different dishes. The lasagna is amazing as well as their steaks. Amazing Small town America atmosphere! Will definitely be back!!!

We've eaten at the Viking several times but enjoyed the prime rib for the first time tonight. It was excellent! Service personnel are always very quick, friendly and knowledgeable. I've never had a bad experience at the Viking but tonight was superb.

Best prime rib I have had in a long time!! Great people great food! Better then most big city places!

Enchiladas (Thursday special) and potato skins are delicious!

My family and I stopped by this past Friday for a meal. We have four kids under 8 years old so we have to be fairly selective in what businesses we patron. Jeff, our waiter, was very patient and kind and the food was superb! We could not have had a better experience and cannot wait to go back!
