Unexpected treasures of Iowa and USA history. Clean. Well organized. Free. Well worth donating $10 or more per person but you can give what you can afford. Beautiful walking trail through prairie grasses. Nice overlook with 360 views. Nice gift shop and knowledgeable people to help you with getting to know western Iowa. Lots of free travel related pamphlets.

When you see the sign for this Iowa Welcome Center, do your self a favor and follow them. What a lovely hidden gem! This was all the right kinds of random. Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable in staff. Local gifts and goodies. Discovered Iowa is home to The Ice Cream Capital of the World, which we obviously went to next. Some interesting exhibits and a pretty view. Thanks for being a wonderful first stop on my first visit to Iowa!

Iowa Welcome Center and so much more!! Just exploring and stopped in to find out more about the Loess Hills. Modern clean bathroom, snacks, drinks, IA and NE souvenirs, cookbooks, local wines, Christmas ornaments, and a museum! I believe I saw a Freedom Rock also as I was leaving. I will be back as I did not get a chance to explore the museum buildings out front or in back. And this is on the Lincoln Highway! The gentleman manning the counter is very knowledgeable about history and the area! A must stop!!

We were surprised to stumbled upon this fun museum just looking for a rest stop. Several buildings with historical artifacts and memorabilia. Picnic area and hiking. All free except the gift shop items. Something for everyone, children and adults!

This is a small wonder tucked away right outside of Missouri Valley. A nice little museum with different buildings to see and explore and a beautiful Freedom Rock. The little store is cute and always has a great selection of local items to purchase (knickknacks, wines, honeys, and other local treasures). My kids love to come here to explore and we always leave with a gallon of the Cherry Drink 😋. They also host a farmers market on Thursdays!

Great place to walk around and see some historical artifacts and buildings. Make sure you buy some cherry juice from the gift center before you leave.

We really enjoyed our stop here!!!! The folks are very nice to talk to, and very knowledgeable. We bought a metal magnet board and all the state magnets we are traveling through, to put on it. Nice historical area as well.

Very nice and informative stop. Lots of info on the Lincoln Hiway and local life from days gone by. Nice gift shop. There are also several additional buildings (log cabin, blacksmith shop, general store, old schoolhouse) with lots of memorabilia. Our 14 year old grandson really enjoyed it.

A quiet rest area with a huge punch. A well put together museum with tools and artifacts that even I have never seen.

I was not expecting so much to be packed into a welcome center. There are so many gift options, wines from local wineries, a cherry drink produced by the owner, and a nice little historical area to walk through. We walked out with items we never thought we would find at a welcome center, such as wines and Swedish dishcloths.

About five miles off the north bound highway 29. This center is actually located on the original transcontinental highway in America. (Hwy 30, Lincoln Highway). A wonderful little store with many interesting trinkets and memorabilia. You must try their homemade Cherry Juice. The guides are very sweet and knowledgeable about the local area as well as the rest of the state. Would highly recommend any traveler to swing by, drink some cherry juice, and chat for awhile.

What a gem!! When we stopped they were closing. But a very friendly lady came out and welcomed us anyway. She made us feel so welcome, invited us to tour the out buildings and exhibits. We are so happy we stopped. Great history and wonderful presentation. Magnificent views of the valley from the walking path. Don’t miss this one!

The staff were friendly and informative. This was a wonderful stop during our honeymoon and we are glad we didn't pass it up. The place has a nice history of early settlement and a good sample of state plants and wildlife. For the naturist and historian, this is a good stop.

If you have not made the 5 mile trek off of the I29 Missouri Valley exit. It is worth the trip. Whether you are looking to relax, check out history or pick up memorabilia and tourist info, this is a must see stop along the historic Lincoln Highway. It is clean and well cared for. The staff is friendly. You can also see native flowers, shrubs and trees. The paths are paved for easy accessibility. All in all this is worth a stop.
