Penny's Diner

True diner look and feel. Waitress was very nice. Food was fantastic. Wife and I both got grilled chicken salad and neither of us finished due to size. Cooked fresh to order. Men's bathroom needs a good cleaning but hey, it's a diner/truck stop style. Haha. Will stop anytime in the area.

So we was on the way to work in Minnesota from Alabama and we was honestly tired of the same old food on the road ya know what I mean so we found this place in the GPS and said why not

This place is unbelievably awesome … It reminded me of the diner we had in Tuscaloosa back in the 90’s

Oh, and the food was delicious, especially the Chicken Fried Steak

The employees here was super awesome sauce as well … They really cared about our experience while we was there

We saw the sign on the interstate and figured we would check it out. It was a pleasant experience, and we're glad we stopped. A quick tip: Make sure your phone can capture a QR code to access the menu. We ordered the Frisco and western burgers and had a chocolate banana shake for dessert. There were many items on the menu we wanted to try, but we were extremely full. Our waitress was nice and provided good service. She even put the shake in 2 glasses since we said we would split one. It's definitely an old diner feel, and they were playing music from the 70s and 80s. It's a little tucked away behind the hotels and gas stations, but is worth the stop. I'll be back!

Yummy food and charming atmosphere! We went on Easter with our family. We got seated quickly and our server was nice. We got the omelette and classic breakfast. We enjoyed it. We'll definitely come again. Unfortunately, the girls bathroom smelled like an open sewer. So yeah!

Sleek, chrome and classic Diner nestled in Missouri Valley just behind the Travelodge. Food is tasty and filling, waitresses are kind and chat as you wait for your freshly cooked meal. This time around was the Deluxe Biscuits and Gravy with eggs and perfectly cooked bacon. Bacon just tastes better when someone else is doing the cooking. 😂

Penny's Diner is just off the I-29 on the East side, in-between the Arby's and McDonald's on the north side of the Travelodge. Well worth driving to and stopping by for food, customer service, and atmosphere.
I have been coming up here for years driving from Omaha, Ne, with my favorite treat is the one of a kind Real Coffee Malt...YUM!!! :-D
As ya travel in the area, or just have that "craving" for some good ol American old fashioned Diner food, this is your place to go to.

The food was delicious and the staff friendly. We enjoy trying the local area eateries wherever we go. We appreciate how hard people in the food industry work to give us an enjoyable experience and always make sure to thank them accordingly.

Absolutely loved this place. It doesn’t get more Americana than this. Food was delicious and stuff was great and very friendly. It was a great find along the way to the south.. Definitely if I ll be in the area, I would come back to try some other delicious stuff.

We stopped in the get lunch on our way to Des Moines, our server Marie was friendly and very courteous. The food was great and came out super fast. Would totally recommend stopping in if passing through!

My first out sense my surgery 3 weeks ago! It was wonderful to get out of the house. So to me everything was delicious and the service was good. 😉
I have just one complaint, that is they have no menu to look at.
You need a QR App on your phone to get the menu.

We had Triple Decker Sandwich, Penny's cheeseburger, Mushroom burger and a cup of chili and were happy with all of them. The lady who single-handedly cooked and served us was friendly and attentive too.

the food is amazing! everyone is nice here. there is a little bit of a wait time depending on when you get here.

Penny's has the old school diner atmosphere with good food to match.

The homemade malts with scoop ice cream, Carnation malt mix and Hershey's chocolate syrup. Just like you had as a kid.

The burgers, fries and onion rings are also top notch.

Worth the 30 minute drive from West Omaha.

This was the end of a marvelous day of sight seeing. We were tired and hungry and got the most amazing meal. Shelly is an outstanding server. She had a million dollar smile while being effective and efficient. The food is excellent and like homemade. The cook even was concerned that we had an excellent meal. I adore this place!

As an OTR truck driver finding good eateries is sometimes hard. This place is a bit tucked away but well worth the walk from the local truckstop. Atmosphere is great with that 50's vibe. Food is amazing and service was some of the best I have ever received. Will go out of my way to stop here again.

Such a friendly staff! Breakfast toast was actually toast-not bread warmed on one side. Former resident visiting from Arizona it was a great place to est.

The food was good as always, but had a brand new waitress, so the service was slow. The other waitress didn’t even try to help out, which was sad. The cook took forever to get the food out. We were in kind of a time crunch so maybe that’s why it felt that way. You would think on a Friday evening they would have more staff. Not only for the dinner but they also have to take care of the hotel!!

Slightly tucked away but the pancakes they made me at 1 AM were the best I've had in Iowa! Thanks for being open 24 hours!
