Liberty Baptist Church was an "arm" of the Ten Mile Creek (Today, known as Ten Mile Baptist Church in Hamilton County, is one of the largest rural Southern Baptist Churches within the state of Illinois) in April of 1841, this arm of Ten Mile Creek began to meet as a mission under the preaching of Elder T.M. Vance and Elder SILAS MERCER WILLIAMS, shortly after they started this arm or mission, a protracted meeting was held that resulted in the addition of 25 new members to this mission.

On August 4, 1841, this mission was organized into its own church and was named Liberty. This congregation is still an active Missionary Baptist Congregation that is associated with the Franklin Baptist Association on a local level, the Illinois State Baptist Association on a state level which in turn on a national level is a part of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Sanford Denham and Allen Denham were two ordained members in its early church membership. The Liberty Baptist Church was one of the 7 churches that organized the Union United Baptist Association which became known as the Franklin United Baptist Association which today is known as the Franklin Baptist Association.

The members that represented the Liberty Church at the organization of the Union United Baptist Association were: DANIEL WARD, ALLEN RICHARDSON and ANDREW MILLER. That year 1841, the church boasted of a membership of 55. (History of Franklin United Baptist Association, 1880. Illinois Baptist State Association Church Annuals) According to the Annual Church profile for the 2015-2016, this congregation had a membership of 119.

The cemetery was very muddy. I normally use a three-wheeled electric scooter to get around. First I had to lift it over the curb and then it bogged down right away. I wasn't able to stay as long as I liked because of chronic pain. Older and disabled people visit cemeteries, too. We don't just come to stay.
