UPDATE: pizza was great!!
These people don’t want you to find this place, they don’t need you. They don’t answer their phones at all and there’s no sign but OPEN on the door. However after saying that, the place is packed with LOCALs I’m guessing. I’ve not eaten the pizza yet, but judging by the crowd I’m giving it a 5 star rating. I can hardly wait to try it. (It’s in the same strip with Auto Zone)

The service was great but when really busy they need more help. Food has always been great. Closet to a new York pizza around here.

This is the kind of place we like to look for when out exploring new places. The menu was not overly complicated, the staff efficient and food very good. A lot of character and locals. Would definitely recommend!

Our first time here. We went for the pizza but ended up getting the Stromboli. Love the fact that they cut it up, making it so much easier to consume.
The Mozzarella sticks and fried mushrooms were also great!
Can't wait to go back and actually try the pizza this time!

Love the personal service and the pizza dough is phenomenal! Large chef salad with ranch is great as an opener and thi have the coldest mugs in town.

TJs is a staple everytime my family and I are in the area. Great family friendly environment and the food will have you dreaming over the place. Thank you Junior and Staff! We love and appreciate y'all.

I went into TJ’s with low expectations, as I had only heard about it from friends and the AutoZone next door. That being said, when I went into TJ’s with my group we were seated quickly and had been given time to order drinks. Once we had gotten our drinks a member of our groups spilled his drink and made a mess, however the waitress serving our table was very nice and helped us clean it up. We then ordered our food and waited until we got it. Once I had gotten my lasagna and began to eat it I realized just how slept on this place was! I loved it, it tasted very good and was worth way more than what it cost me. After we ate our dinner the cook came out and talked to us about the photos on the wall, how our food was, and what we were doing. Overall it was a very tasty and friendly experience, and I would recommend it to anyone stopping by, or just looking for some good Italian food.

This is the first time I've eaten from here, and my only regret is that I hadn't done so sooner. I got the Lasagna Stromboli (Thursday special) and it is indescribably amazing. The owner is very nice, and I while heartedly recommend this restaurant!

By far the zestiest place I've been, the cheese sticks made me feel like a little boy holding carnival cheese sticks trying to find my mother. The pizza is so juicy and crispy, just like my great Italian grandfather's. I will definitely come back to T J's Zesty Italian.

no marketing, unless you know its there you will miss it. Good pizza &food. owner is 100% gold, you WILL meet him. :-) not expensive, not frilly, down home local place to eat. we need more of these.
definitely not a place for folks who can see past their own noses.

I've been going to TJ's since I was a kid and I can't say enough good things about it. The stromboli has always been my favorite but the pizza is good too. It's an extremely cozy place where Junior and his staff always make you feel like family. The prices are also VERY reasonable. Just make sure to have cash because they don't take cards. I've been eating there for 30 years and will continue to do so.

Really good pizza and stromboli Tammy is always so nice to everybody. Just a fun place to eat. It's still one of the best family pizza restaurants in Mt Airy we tried the chicken wings tonight and they are awesome a little pricey but worth it.

Best Stromboli and Wings you'll ever have. Owner is an awesome dude, ask him about bears your in for a treat.

You can't beat this place. Great pizza and cold beer at an amazing price.

Amazing pizza and stromboli! 😘 cozy atmosphere & very cold beer. The owner & staff was extremely pleasant and welcoming. Found my new favorite pizza place in town. (I spent too may years spoiled by Pizza Time in St. Augustine-)

Junior has the best pizza in Surry County, hands down. I've been eating there for 30+ years and have been treated like family and that means as much to me as the food!
