Marcello's Pizza

Finally tried a pizza from here tonight and it did not disappoint, I will definitely be going back, tried some new items and they were excellent also ,my new go to place for any Italian food

I've been searching for pizza worth paying for in Southern Illinois for about 5 years. I found it in Marcello's. The ingredients are fresh and it shows. Nothing like your chain pizzas. The cheese is fresh, the sauce is made in house and the oven is not your typical pizza oven. I even got a tour of the kitchen which was incredibly clean. The crust has a great crunch to it. The sauce is savory and the pepperoni and sausage were perfect. It's not a chain where they measure each topping. So each bite and slice are different. You can tell that the man cares about making pizza. I will definitely be going back again and again.

One of the best pies I have ever had. It is hard to believe that you can get great authentic pie from Ina but you can. Again the best pizza I have had in a long time. I live in carbondale and I go to Stl. and to Chicago and I would love to have your pizza other than what I find up there. Much love

It was so nice to sit and talk to Marcello and his son,, Smart little fella. In some ways reminds me of myself at his age. Talking about his grandfather, Marcello's father who started this delicacy in Herrin called Girolamo's pizzeria
Who is greatly missed. It warms my soul to know the tradition is being carried on. The food is absolute delish... You're not going to find a pizza around southern Illinois that tastes like this. Marcelo is proud and you can taste it. You can taste the love.

My favorite local pizza establishment. Authentic Italian food at an amazing price. Can’t beat it.
