Went early (6:45am) the Saturday after 4th July to get a spot right by the water. Had a fun day with the family. It got busy around 10am. On leash Dog friendly. Recommended taking your own shade.

I highly recommend going on a weekday... still crowded but far less so! Great fun. I would also recommend water shoes. The sand can be either hard, crunchy, or grossly squishy. Unless you're looking for free exfoliation; then, by all means no-shoes it up!
All in all, well worth the visit. If you have a spare weekday, go!

Great biking trails; swim beach; boating, scenery, birds, fishing and walking trails. Camping is getting better...they're adding a new loop (A) of 85 sites, will be done Aug. '24 Most will have full hook-ups in the new area! Five older loops currently available with electric only. Dump station on site. Hopefully this upgrade will grow into the older loops in the coming years. Great addition! 🏕🔥 Incredible sunsets...

We love coming to Boyd Lake! We’ve gotten plenty of use from our state park pass and like the accessibility that Boyd has with the swim area. Usually pretty busy on weekends and holidays but just right during the week!

I really enjoyed my stay here. We were lucky enough to have a shade tree in both the sites we stayed in, or it would have been a bit for the AC to keep up with during the day. The beach area, food shack and playgrounds were wonderful and my toddler had a blast. The sites were spacious and it was quiet at night.

Boyd Lake State Park: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful views and thrilling fishing experiences! Despite a couple of snapped lines, the scenery and ambiance make it a must-visit destination for nature lovers and fishing enthusiasts alike. Highly recommended!

We went to the swimming area unfortunately it was closed bc of the season -there's a lot of algae - but in general it is a nice area - there's a playground nearby the beach.

Best place ever to camp at. This place was something new to me because usually when I go camping there's tons of trees and more forestry type but it was really nice their. It did rain a lot though. The water was clear and clean and pet safe. The trails where very cool. They have bathrooms and showers the showers cost 75¢ to start then 25¢ for every minute. The water wasn't that cold once you covered your whole body in it. I am definitely coming here again.

Nice spot for camping. The bathroom was spacious and clean, the walks around the lake were peaceful, and most people around were friendly and pleasant. Stayed for two nights and found the time to be quite relaxing. Would recommend for single folks, couples, or families. And if you have a boat you'll be more than set!

Great time at the lake. Not overwhelmingly crowded. Paddle boards for sale and rent, jetski rental, life jacket rental, and more. Large playground for kids. Parking day pass was $10.

Had never been there in the 21 years I have called Colorado home. Took my sister to be on a cross country RV trip and my daughter and I joined them for dinner. Nice park, close to I-25 and Fort Collins.

I almost don't want to leave this review because I don't want additional traffic, but here we are lol Boyd is amazing. This year, with all the rain we've had, Boyd is fuller than ever. The water creeps right up to the picnic tables!! (Last year, there was still about 50ft of beach before you hit the water). We launched our kayaks right from our picnic spot, cruised through the trees that are now living the aquatic life. We recently kayaked the whole lake and that was a lot lol anyways, the important things, like the bathrooms here are always clean, people are respectful of each other's space and we all seem to clean up after ourselves (as it should be). There are also spigots around to rinse your hands, feet, gear, kids? Pets? Whatever, I'm not here to judge. There's tons of picnic tables (some with awnings), plenty of grass space for land sports or tanning. Plenty of parking around as well. Overall the grounds are very well maintained. There's also a concession stand that sells food (haven't tried it yet). You can rent jet skis (and other toys) too (totally fun). There's also a large playground for those who may not be as excited to swim. The campgrounds look nice as well, each spot was numbered with a fire pit and it looked like they had a large bathroom right in the middle (I don't know if they have showers in there or not). There are also people who take advantage of bike riding and walking the trails nearby. There's really something for everyone here. $11 day pass is where it's at, although I recommend getting your dual registration ID to avoid having to pay every time (and it pays for itself in 3 visits).

Relaxed environment, very friendly park staff, clean and hot showers. Dog friendly. Potable water available on all loops, dump station on site, and electric available at all pull through sites. Right next to the lake with trails for walking. Love the place.

Great Park! ConvenientLy close to town but still quiet. Good view of mountains. Clean and well kept. Lake path is very busy with walkers/bikers, but nicely paved! Highly recommend staying here.

The lake is big with lots of room for all the boats. Great place to paddle board also. Could use more boat ramps though.
