Very nice museum. Suggested $5 donation. This is a well-maintained facility. It has a good amount of information....self paced, waLk through on your own. There is an option of a 20 min video to watch for an additional $1 per person. I would plan to spend an hour. (Could even be done in a half hour if needed). There is also a nice gift shop.

It is an amazing place to learn about the history of Marquette County and the Iron Industry in UP. Hiking trails around the museum are exceptional, too—one of my favorite places to go in the Fall season in UP.

The UP was built by those that built America. The exhibits and video go in depth about the evolution of the mining industry and how it fostered a diverse immigrant population. Workers are rightfully honored for their sacrifices, and visitors get a newfound appreciation for this vital resource.

Fantastic museum! Professional, yet fun for qll ages. The walkway up overlooking the forge site on Carp River is fabulous! Plenty of interactive activities for kids and adults. The life size mine replica is spooky and fun!

The Michigan Iron Industry Museum is a must visit. It is a very well put together location with education for all ages. We have been here several times. When we have someone visiting from another state we bring them here to learn some about this area and we always learn something new that we didn’t know. The staff is always so friendly. The walking paths are also very well maintained. The parking is plentiful. The gift shop is a great place to pick up a little something. We recommend stopping by. We will stop here again and again. Also, if you’re able, please leave a donation when you enter the main door.

Best part tips to local taconite pellets and the Jackson Miners trail. Staff at museum downright cheerful!

No ticket needed to enter.... Just a donation box recommending $5 per person and it is definitely worth it and more. Great exhibits. Small museum. Friendly staff. Cute gift shop. Definitely a great experience that we enjoyed as a whole family.

Does a great job of explaining the local and state mining experience. Had a photo of a miner eating a pasty - that is very appropriate for us out of towners. Glad we stopped. It's a beautiful spot, especially with fall foliage.

This was a fun activity for my visiting family members. The safe guided tour could be done quickly or slowly depending on what people prefer.

Great little FREE museum (donation requested). Very interesting history with lots of artifacts, helpful attendant, and cute gift shop. How can you pass it up?!

This was a very nice little history museum. It documents the Iron mining industry of Northern Michigan quite well. It was a fun little jaunt off the beaten path but was well worth the visit. Tours are self guided and the full museum can be viewed in an hour or less unless you are like me and like to read everything.

Sadly the museum was closed, but the trails were great. A nice place to explore. Will be back when museum reopens.

Worth the stop. Many very interesting artifacts and stories, and a nice hiking/info trail. Plus a beautiful 1932(?) Ford and a WWII GP! I didn't have time to watch the mini documentary.

Great, state-run museum with lots of fun things to do. We loved the board game and the "mine".

Great job of showing history of the area as well as of the mining itself. It was free, but we donated after seeing what they had done with it!
