Aldeen Park

Play kids love going here. There are plenty of fun things for them to do and climbing all over the damn as enjoyable but there are also trails that go through the woods with lots of fun things to see as well as a creek to play in when the water is running.

Aldean Park is a clean family friendly and large park for being in the middle of the city. I love hiking the trails through the forest on the east side of the park. There's a large hill that everyone goes sledding on I. The winter. I see a lot of family's use the shelter to throw party's. People bring their dogs to hike the trails or just walk them along the road ways through the park. Always being kept up with a grounds keeper (like a park ranger).

PLEASE take mosquito spay... if not, there will be battle scars... other than that the walking trails are beautiful 😍😍😍 just don't wander off the trail them plants have thorns.🙈✌

Seems like small but you can make 3-4 miles walk there early.
Beautiful creek with small bluffs outcroppings.

The dam is in process of demolishing, and in future it will be no graffiti allowing there.

A true gem of Rockford. This park is great for any season but is one of my personal favorites during the winter. It's hills provide the BEST sledding in town!

Love this beautiful & mysterious place. The kids love it too. The art changes every few years apparently. One time we cane and there was no art. But it's coming back. I guess that's how this place works. Pretty fricking cool!

Nice trails for dog walking or for going on a short hike.

Used to go to this park with my daughters and mom& Dad. To sled 🛷🛷 down the hill in the park. That is now a swamp. LITERALLY 😂 I LIVE RIGHT BY IT! THE DAM! 😬

The area is beautiful. My son goes there for camp & he loves it. They go on hikes & do other things.

This park has a very nice trail system . it is dog friendly but you must keep your dog on a leash. There is some poison ivy growing in the woods so it is in your best interest to keep on the path. They have a porta potty. There is a large open field a steam and benches if you get tired.

I go to different parts for my service dog. That's the only exercise she gets chasing the the ball. Other than that she's always on duty!!!!

The is a huge park. If you love to hike there are paths in the woods to hike in. You can spend a very long peaceful hike in the woods. There are picnic tables and plenty of green lawn but no play ground so bring things for the kids to do and you'll love it.

Beautiful public park with big open spaces. Aldeen also features hiking trails and rental space for events. Pokémon Go players will appreciate 3 Pokéstops and 2 Gyms in the relatively small park. It does flood but usually the majority of the park is unaffected.

We go sledding here in the winter and hike/play in the creek and picnic in the summer. Great place - I've been going here since I was a kid. Even took a turn and spray painted the dam (tradition)
