I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Joshua McDuffie.

He was patient, kind and went above and beyond to help my 87-year-old Mom. She is hard to fit - very narrow size - and she is very specific about what she likes and doesn't.

Joshua was not only knowledgeable, he was really, really nice.

My Mom ordered a pair of walking shoes and another pair is coming in for her to try. Even when it looked like there wasn't going to be a sale, he gave the same level of white glove service.

Retail needs more salespeople like Joshua. Thank you!

We had a great experience with Jordan. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Listened carefully to what my 81 year old mom needed, measured her feet, made a recommendation & ensured her fit was correct. She is so happy with her new sneakers and much more stable on her feet. Great shop in a great location. This is always my go to place when in the area to refresh my shoes. Most recent visit I was helped by Stefan and Jordan and they were fantastic.

I just popped in today to see about some shoes. I’m visiting from Tucson and we do not have a NB store. I have been buying the NB Fresh foam 1080s for the last 3 years and I discussed with Stef about my plantar fasciitis. He was very patient and explained that I should try a men’s shoe for the width and had me try on walking versus running shoes. Well once I described the fit, he pulled out the 880’s and my heel pain was instantly gone! He was concerned about the width so he put in an order for me for low inventory and the owner was fine with it. My visit was truly exceptional. Rarely have I received this high level of service. Stef and Josh are just great guys! Can’t wait to go back to pick up my shoes!

The employee who helped me (I think his name was Steph) was great. I came in a couple weeks ago to return a pair of online-bought 990v6s, and was able to do it no problem. He helped me figure out the sizing change I need to solve my issues (turns out I need a wide shoe) and even helped fit me with some orthotics. Fast forward to today, and I was having an issue with the shoe, he helped me return them. He was super kind, knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. Definitely recommend the store.

I visited around the end of August, before going on a long hiking trip in the national parks in Utah. The salesman was very helpful and informative. He helped me find the best shoes for my need: men's trail walking 1400. He described them as "high-top trail sneakers," but the website says "boots." He said these would support my ankles, which often get turned. He also informed me that I needed arch support, so I ordered some orthotic insoles for them. The combination worked superbly. Almost every time I go hiking with my wife, I mention how much I like these shoes. I never knew trail shoes could be so comfortable. And I haven't turned my ankle since getting them. They were a bit expensive, but well worth it.

Here's our story: My mom went in to get fitted for running shoes several weeks ago. She told the associate she normally wears a 10 in her regular shoes. This was her first pair of actual running shoes. The associate brought her a 10. She did several training runs, and her toes actually hit the end of the shoe. Come to find out, the associate didn't actually check out the fit for her. I ended up coming over to check her shoes and they were WAY too small. Any associate working in a running store that is even a tiny bit knowledgeable knows that you need to go up a half to a full size for running shoes. My mom didn't know that and the associate didn't bother asking any questions or checking. My mom is a slightly special case because she has to have her left shoes lifted, due to a leg length difference. Originally, we were told that because the shoe was lifted, they couldn't be exchanged. Luckily Mark, the owner, saw my review and went above and beyond to make it right. He made sure he was at the store when my mom came back. He fitted her into the proper shoe and she is ECSTATIC.
Thank you, Mark, so much, for taking great care of us. We will DEFINITELY be back for more shoes!!

I love, love, love my new New Balance 980's! I'll never leave it up to chance to buy a pair of running shoes on my own in a big box store. The knowledgeable staff at New Balance Durham took the time to properly measure and fit me with a shoe they knew I would be happy in for a long time. Thanks!

Yes, I have been enjoying my 1260s and fresh foam trainers. But I must say that Mark, the store manager, has a customer (and advocate) for life. There are two amazing examples of top-notch service I can share:
1) Last summer I was experiencing problems with my feet. My podiatrist recommended I visit New Balance to get the right shoe. I tried out 3 shoes before settling on the right one. And they were sooo accommodating.
2) I've had inserts in my trainers, which I wear HARD. The inserts wore out pretty quickly (more a reflection on me than the product). I popped in today to see if it was normal. And it definity wasn't normal. Mark, immediately made sure I got the a propper replacement.

He (and the rest of the staff) have always been amazing. They know customer service. They know how to make customers happy. I only wish there were more stores to give them.

Arnett was professional and knowledgeable. He fitted me for work shoes,hiking boots and inserts. My podiatrist recommended going to the New Balance store to get fitted. It is well worth the time and money.

Excellent service at the Durham store with Patricia Keith .she is always willing to help and always has a smile you won’t have to worry about getting the write shoe. She is there to help . You won’t ever be disappointed with her service or her recommendations. I love this store

Fantastic customer service. They really do take all the time and attention needed to find the right shoe and more specifically fit. Had an issue with a purchase and they went the extra mile to make it right.

Excellent store. This is the best kids shoe selection I have seen in Durham or Chapel Hill. They have kids shoes in regular and wide and do custom fitting. The store has a great selection in stock and access to a huge warehouse for additional sizes.

Tequan took the time to go thru every shoe I desired. Super helpful, quick and helped me find the perfect shoe. I’m picky and this was a great experience!
