La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Univ Area Chapel Hill

Everyone on staff were great, rooms were very comfortable and clean. Good selection of breakfast, clean pool. Would be back if I'm in the area again!

Excellent room, property, and staff. Stylish, clean, modern, super nice! Love the peaceful courtyard! Look forward to being able to use the indoor pool on another visit. Easy to have dog there on first floor. Comfy bed and everything seemed high quality. Would highly recommend staying there! And fantastic price! Really surprised price was that low on such a nice property!

The rooms here were very nice and clean, up to date and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were very clean and the tub/shower was nice for a quick wash or a good soak. Compared to other hotels in the local area, this is an exceptional value. The breakfast was good, with hot eggs and sausage; the waffle iron was a big hit, and there were muffins, yogurt, cereals and milk available. The indoor pool was a lot more dated than the rooms but clean though it was a little cold. The staff were nearly all friendly and helpful, though the desk clerk seemed oddly fixated on trying to switch our reserved double bed room to a king room, probably there was some reservation snafu with other guests to accommodate that night. I have stayed in all of the hotels within a half mile of this location and this is by far the very best, and much, much better than the other La Quinta hotels in Durham.

The front lady was absolutely amazing!!! She helped me and my family get our reservations fixed and went out of the way to make sure we got checked in after a long trip to Durham for my daughter to have back surgery the next day! She was amazing and truly went above and beyond to help at any point she could! Keep her on your staff and people will continue to come back!!! The TV remote wasn't working and she moved us right away and apologized for the inconvenience!

We travel with our dog everywhere we go and have always stayed at the La Quinta Inn & Suites. They used to not charge for dogs, but now they charge $25 a night with a $50 max charge for however many nights longer you stay. Also, the checkout used to be 12:00 pm, now it's 11:00 am. We booked the deluxe king room and it was very nice. There's tons of space, a desk and chair if you're staying for business, microwave, and refrigerator. The bed was very comfortable, very clean sheets, and nice pillows. The bathroom was large with many extras, including a large tub/shower combo, Dove products for face and hair, bath mat, towels, and a hairdryer. The hairdryer is in a black drawstring bag that's hanging on the hook behind the door. They serve breakfast from 6 am. until 9 am. They had a few hot breakfast items such as waffle iron, eggs, and sausage. They also had cereal, milk, orange juice, yogurt, banana, and oatmeal. I didn't see any muffins, which was slightly disappointing, I'm not sure if they didn't serve them or if they were out before we came down. They do have an outdoor pool and a gym, which we didn't use during our stay, but they both look nice. We were staying there because I had an appointment with my surgeon at Duke University Hospital, which was about 10 minutes away. So if you're coming for an appointment at Duke, the location is really close, and there's 2 different routes to get there. All the employees were very nice, respectful , understanding, and helpful. We definitely highly recommend this La Quinta and will be staying here in the future.

We arrived around 7pm and the front desk manager was extremely nice and helpful getting us checked in and directing us to our room. The room itself was one of, if not the, nicest la quinta I’ve ever been to! Rooms were clean and had plenty of towels and pillows, a nice tv, and a mini fridge/microwave/coffee maker set up. Beds were very comfy. There is also a great spot to walk you dogs away from the parking lot and traffic, which was appreciated. In the morning they had a buffet that included waffles, muffins, juices, etc. At check out, the gentleman with the army veteran hat working at the desk was extremely helpful! There was an erroneous charge on the folio, but he called over coworker Terri for help and they were able to resolve it! There are also a ton of restaurants less than 5 minutes away, so we were able to grab some take out after a long drive. Overall, super friendly staff and a great place. I would definitely stay again, and I’m glad we chose this hotel.

Clean and spacious room.
Brightly lit bathroom. Raising toilet height would benefit adults. Pool room was nice. Good variety of items for breakfast.

Large room with French doors to close off bedroom. Couch and comfy recliner in living area, separate desk area. Room clean, bed comfortable, 5 pillows for the king bed. Small fridge, microwave, sink area. One bathroom sink outside bathroom itself, very convenient. 2 closets. Simple but adequate continental breakfast. Only downside was that pool was closed and we picked this hotel for that reason. Would have been nice if their site had said so. Dogs allowed and they were all on the first floor. We were on the second floor and never heard a thing. Pleasant and patient staff. No housekeeping the 3 nights we were there. May be SOP these days; good thing we had a big Red Lobster bag for trash! Would stay here again.

My family and I travel a lot! Since the pandemic I’ve witnessed horrible hotel/motel services and accommodations! barely any breakfast or clean rooms BUT this place has a variety of options for breakfast, a clean room, workers were sweet. This has been such a pleasant stay that I feel obligated to leave a review. Highly recommend. Not to mention the price was great!

My only complaint is how small the beds are for adults. They're full size. Otherwise, clean rooms, and perfect service from the wonderful staff.

The hotel location is a bit tricky for people coming in from out of state but once you drive in once it's a breeze. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel is perfectly located between UNC Chapel Hill and lots of shopping and restaurants in the area.

We will definitely be back in a few months!

Great experience! Check-in was quick & easy, the cleanliness of the property and room were impeccable. The staff were pleasant and friendly. We didn't make breakfast as the bed was too comfortable to get out of...Check-out was quick and easy and the price was right!!! Shopping and entertainment was close as well. We'll be back!

This hotel is very clean and nice! Sheets and bedding smelled great. Bathroom was super shiny. There is a lot of space in the king sized room. Even a little love seat to relax on! Nice desk if you need to work, or have a place to dine. Fridge and microwave in the room. Flat screen TV, all the comforts of home. We will definitely return to this one when we travel. It's a plus that Red Lobster is on the other side of the parking lot! ;) The staff was friendly, and very helpful. Thanks for making us feel at home!

I'd love to recommend this place to everybody who is looking for a place to stay in this area. I had a 3-night stay there and my experience there totally beyond my expectation. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. More than that, the staff there are warm, friendly and helpful. We happened to get a flat tire during our stay there. Travise, the General Manager, and Tracy provided great help and saved us. They checked the situation and helped us change the tire personally! What they did actually is far beyond their work scope. We could feel that the hotel is treating its guests as friends, with passion and sincerity. Thanks to the staff for making our stay experience unforgettable.

Very nice hotel, spacious room with great amenities. Booked a king suite online, upon arrival was told they were overbooked and we were given a king room with a roll away. Very clean and modern. Helpful staff. Nice indoor pool, goes 5' deep. Hot tub. Breakfast was good, waffle makers and such. When our room was serviced they even propped up little teddy in the roll away.. :)

Stayed here a year ago when a friend came down from Virginia. I don't stay at a-lot of hotels anymore but this was a nice change of pace.

The rooms were clean, with fresh sheets. Loved the breakfast bar every morning as there was a great selection. Bathrooms were clean and loved the pool / hot tub area. The rates are a little high but if you are able to afford it, definitely come check out the Chapel Hill Blvd location if you need a place to stay for a night or for a few days.

Beautiful hotel. The decor was absolutely stunning. Very courteous and professional staff. However, on line it advertised that they served breakfast in which they did not. I know since the pandemic a lot of places started doing bag breakfast at least. I told the staff that their info needs to be updated on the website. Besides the not serving breakfast I enjoyed my stay.

Stayed here during the hurricanes can't say enough how helpful and polite the service and front desk people were. They even took in our dogs which was amazing seeing how nice the hotel was. The complimentary breakfast was one of the better ones I've ever had and they have everything else there that you may need like food to snack on for later in the night. Also convenient to everything you need in Durham

Stayed overnight after a hospital visit at Duke. Hotel was easy to find, central to things but not too stressful of a drive to or from the hospital. They provided me with a wheelchair to get my anesthetic-affected dad to the room, and gave us a room close to the door. The interior is clean and modern, rooms were clean and fresh smelling, bathrooms were clean and all amenities stocked. Breakfast slightly above average continental (included cold hard boiled eggs, make your own waffles station). Staff was friendly and accommodating, would definitely stay again in the area.

I have stayed here numerous times just since January, 2021 due to having numerous surgeries at an orthopedic hospital in Durham. This hotel is always clean and well kept. Housekeeping services will only clean your room after you've checked out even if you're staying several days. This is due to Covid-19 restrictions. Housekeeping will provide extra towels and linens upon request and will change the bed linens if needed and requested. This is definitely my go to, pet-friendly hotel to stay at in the Triangle area of NC.
