Dr. Shockley and his staff have been taking care of my family's dental care for over ten years and I worked for him for six years. Honest and clear in his communication and conservative in his approach. Of course, I love his staff- they have been with him for years which says a lot about the practice and atmosphere. Great family dentistry in my home town- so good I make the hour plus drive to continue in their excellent care.

All the staff is very nice and Dr Shockley is awesome. Highly recommend

I was disappointed. All I needed was a simple extraction, which I was told on the phone they did. But what I got was a prescription, a referral and a $75 bill.

My 10 YO had cavities to fill. The first two visits went well he had some pain second visit and he just gave him another shot waited and it went fine.The third visit my son calmly raised his hand and said hey this hurts. The Dr. Shockley looked visibly aggravated by this but gave him another shot. He didn’t give it time before drilling again. I tried to calm my son down and say it’s okay it’s almost done and he goes “ no I’m not haven’t even started yet”. He had an agitated tone. Then my son was like my gums and cheek are numb my tooth isn’t it hurts when you begin to drill. He then tells my son I haven’t even drilled through the enamel like he was lying about pain. My son has a pretty high pain tolerance. My son goes to ask him a question and he says “ no questions I’m putting stuff on your teeth” and then pushed mouth prop into his mouth. I mean he’s a kid he had no empathy or calmness working with a kid that was having some pain. He then seals the tooth and says he needs to go to pediatric dentist. Mind you my son was calm he wasn’t crying yelling or anything just simply saying hey you didn’t numb it properly. I wouldn’t recommend this dentist with children period unless they stay still and don’t complain when they feel pain whatsoever.

I brought my son here for a consultation on a cosmetic repair for two teeth. Everything went fine. I agreed with Dr. Shockley on the plan that I needed to take back to the orthodontist. Fast forward to a week later, and my son had his upper brackets removed. I called Dr. Shockley's office the next day, to see about bringing my son in to discuss how to proceed with the crowns (an issue arose with ortho), and I was told that he no longer wants my son as a patient. I was floored. His reason behind this is because I chose to go back to my previous dentist for MY care. I was blown away by how petty that was. For years, my children and I have seen different dentists, because they use to go to a pediatric one. It is his practice, and his right to choose who he wants to see, but, they could have at least called me to inform me of their decision. I would have never had my son's uppers removed if they would have had the decency to do that. I'm truly baffled and hurt by the way we were treated.
