Bear Creek Tavern

I've been meaning to write this review for years.

My wife and I stopped here during high COVID. The lockdowns had passed, but masking was still encouraged. We were coming back from the Range and hit Hinckley looking for something local, but most every place was still closed. So we wandered a little further off the freeways and found Bear Creek Tavern.

Nobody goes into a tavern expecting haute cuisine nor Michelin stars. Honestly, we'd have settled for a decent burger. Instead, we lucked into Mexican Night. My wife ordered enchiladas, and I ordered taco salad. Portions were well sized, prices were decent, quality was good, and service was friendly. I mean, really, what more do you want from road food on Friday night on a trip?

If we're ever back in that neck of the woods, we'll look them up. If you're in that neck of the woods, you should look them up, too. You won't be wasting your time.

Stopped for lunch while camping at the state park. It happened to be Cinco de Mayo and the fish tacos & street corn special was delicious! Our bartender was really nice too.

Came from out of town. Stayed at the casino down the road. Very expensive restaurants. Look this place up. Absolutely perfect! Hometown place. Great food. Great prices. Staff were superb. The roasted chicken special. It just melted in your mouth. It was so good, fresh and not greasy. Would absolutely definitely come back again!!

Went here with my wife and daughter and we were not disappointed. My wife and I had burgers and our kid had the wings. Everything was very good and reasonably priced. The waitress and atmosphere were great. It is definitely worth trying this place out.

Friendly, great food. Love eating here and when they do special breakfasts.

Had the Big Bear Burger. Absolutely amazing. The poppers, fries, and onion rings were also delicious. All of the food ordered was hot and fast, and tasted great. Will definitely return.

Everything was very fresh and delicious. The staff was helpful in giving terrific recommendations. Try the spicy pickle fries if you get a chance. I had three black bear burger. It was exactly what you would expect. The french fries were very good as well.

The best eatery in the area! I love the burgers, my wife loves their sandwiches, and they've got a good kids menu. Great atmosphere, and a convenient location right off MN 48. They regularly have different events, many are family focused.

This is a must stop place!! The broasted chicken was delicious but the spinach artichoke dip was to die for!!

It was probably the best mushroom and Swiss burger I've ever had, and that's saying something because I've eaten quite a lot of mushroom and Swiss burgers in my day. Excellent place for a middle of nowhere bar!

This is the best little place I've been in years!!! Terrific food and great staff. We had a special that the cook just thought up and it was an incredible Asian wrap. We had sweet potato fries that almost melted in your mouth. Crunchy outside and so sweet and delicious inside. The onion rings were battered perfectly and fried just right. I would definitely recommend and will back! Enjoy

Wonderful foods. Had the bear creek hoagie with a1 sauce. Totally awesome. First time there. We will definitely go back. Onion rings were so awesome. Not greasy...not overpowering breading. Light crispy. Fries great.
Vikings were on and crowd was a little loud (they lost...as usual) but generally was a great atmosphere. We were very happy with meal and atmosphere we will definitely come back here. Prices were fair compared to everyone out there. Brought home half our meal.

Service is amazing friendly happy...tried their favorite sandwich and it was spot on, chicken artichoke panini...
