Great authentic Chinese food with no buffet! Real old-time restaurant. Teapot on the table. Chopsticks on request. You do use chopsticks, don't you? The dining experience is much better with chopsticks!
"Beef in foil" is very different and I did not like the first taste. However, I did like it after a few bites. I would order it again.

I think we’ve been dining at the House of Ma for over 40 years, Nostalgia or Time Capsule may be the primary flavor, but it always is good! Still my favorite Chinese food, and still the standard by which all (including my own) Pork Fried Rice shall be measured

The best service and food! I love the foil wrapped beef under the appetizers.

This has been out favorite restaurant for Chinese food for 40 years! The food is consistently good. They have the best egg flower soup, egg rolls, fried rice and beef in foil. We have NEVER found subgum dishes anywhere as well prepared as they are here. The vegetables are perfectly diced cooker but still fresh crisp and the sauces are well seasoned-deliciousness. The prices are reasonable and the servings are enough to take home leftovers. We have move away from Emporia but still drive an hour to enjoy a meal here.

House of Ma is a hidden treasure in Emporia Kansas and really a must go. The food is well prepared, plentiful and tastes fantastic.

While the building is a little worse for wear the service and traditional feel makes up for it and is quite the local gem. Prices are very reasonable especially post pandemic.

The staff are always smiling and engaging with customers and prompt with take service without being overbearing like some restaurants can be.

Dining here supports the state, supports locally and supports the hard working people that prepare the food, serve the tables and make your dining experience enjoyable.

We were just passing through town decided to give this place a try. The interior had us worried for a second but the food was fantastic. We ended up getting two orders of egg rolls and crab rangoon, both were amazing. I ordered fried rice and it to was amazing. My other half ordered a poultry dish I think moo goo guy pan which he devoured. We will defiantly go back next time we pass through.

Has been my favorite Chinese food for years! Very nostalgic to me. Always consistent flavors. We love the family dinner and the plumb sauce! A “must have” when I come back home!

I grew up in Emporia and while in the military I've lived in several states. Out side of real China towns or large cities this is the best you get around. The egg rolls are by far the best I've ever had. I have yet find a place to serve anything near how great they are here. A place in Chicago came close, but no cigar. Get the egg rolls.

The staff is courteous, friendly, and extremely efficient. The food is prepared perfectly and it is delicious!!

Excellent food. We've been coming here for 28 years. We live a little over 2 hours away and we still come eat here.

This is one of Emporias's original Asian restaurants. Just moved location. Always fresh tasting, plenty of Hot food. Just needs newer seats!

I have been dining at House of ball since the late 1970s I used to go there when I was in college and lived in Emporia I always stop in if I am in town for an overnight trip and have dinner there
