Pretty good area to fish, the fish jumped out and it's quite nice and quiet.

I love this park. Not going to lie. I have got lost in here with my dog twice. The colored arrows could be better. You go on a 2-mile hike so you think. 10 miles later you find your way out feeling like you are at death's door. I can't be the only one that had this experience. But great place overall. My dogs love it. Once you learn it it is pretty easy to follow and have mapped out. I am usually there once a week. Great views.

This place is a beautifully preserved natural landscape with great hiking trails and plenty of flora and fauna to enjoy. The wildflowers in the spring are an impressive example of the complexity of creation and the genius of our Creator.

Beautiful location to sit back and relax. Away from the busy streets and and city life, this is a great spot for the whole family. I was able to get a kayak in the water and it just made it a hundred times better. I'm already looking forward to the next chance to visit.

One of the best parks and hiking areas I’ve checked out in the temple area so far. Tons of trails. I would recommend taking a photo of the trail map though as the trails are confusing in places at times. Lots of good trails for trail running.

Definitely watch out for snakes if you check out the stone bridge or ponds. I saw several cotton mouth snakes and a couple copperheads.

You will love it here. Take crawfish bait if you go 🎣 fishing. There is Big fish. You can see them and they can see you! There's turtles. If you got boys man they are going to love it! By picnic tables. There's a trail that needs some trimming some weeds stick out. But if your boys take some ✂ scissors they will keep going further clearing the path and avoid getting caught. But so worth it. There's some Huge Trees leaning by lake a kids dream come true. I'm over 40 being a big kid and I loved it! Take plenty of water and ice. Take skin so soft oil to apply avoid the ants when sitting down on tree roots or on the ground. 🚻 Restroom I would 🚫 NOT use the restroom in those outdoor shacks. However, if you go back out of the park turn left and just down the street to the left there's an Exxon I believe. And it's very CLEAN! You can grab Fountain Drinks and Snacks and fuel up while you are there. If you have a canoe or paddle boat you must take it! People bring there canoes. You can actually walk thru the water across. You can see what's in front of you. Water temperature does get colder. But feels so good! Take some clean water in a recycle jug to rinse off. And some water with Dawn dish soap and vinegar to wash up. Trust me you will need these items! If You Feed the baby fish . Recommendation: I cut up some shrimp 🍤 into very tiny pieces and they loved it! Please DO NOT put shrimp from FOREIGN COUNTRY. If you got several children cut them up for them place shrimp pieces into different little containers. It's better if an adult preps for the baby fish feeding because the shrimp has some pieces that can poke you and some people have gotten infections.
There's plenty of shade! Picnic table are made of cement and have a roof on them. When driving into park drive slow there's curves. Don't forget to go into Belton town. You will enjoy. There's a Planet Fitness I'm not sure if this gym has Showers but if you have a membership there you go. Contact them. I believe they are open from 5 am to 9 pm. I eat at Dead Fish Grill they have a lake view and live music 🎵🎶!
I hope you enjoy as much as I did!

This place is a nice little tucked away park. The picnic tables could use some work or just having more seating in general. It was a great experience either way. Definitely would go back, definitely wouldn't take my 4 year old because of the pathways arent very great.

Such a neat place! We went fishing with our 6 month old, there were plenty of places for us to take her stroller and set up some chairs. It was quiet, peaceful, and even though just about every space was taken for parking, it didn't feel crowded or cramped. For being such a popular spot it was very clean, we didn't see a lot of trash, though there was quite a bit of fishing line in the trees, ha! There were both shaded and sunny spots and we overall had a wonderful time there!

I had a great time this Saturday fishing with my son here. There weren't a lot of fish, but there was enough to keep him entertained and happy.

Since my heart surgery I haven't been able to get in water but today I just went to put my feet in and enjoy the view as well as the cool water. The butterfly joined me for the whole grounding ritual.

Great park for an adventure. Does have some rougher terrain so better for people that are stable on thier feet♥ but if you choose not to wonder far thier is flat walking serfaces. I do see people fish in the water. Its not really swimming quality due to it being stagnant at times

Great place to go on a picnic. Weather permitting. We love to go on walks and it was quiet and enjoyable. We love seeing nature and getting to walk around where trees grow and seeing all the excitement of nature.
