The most incredible, thoughtful space that gets back to the roots of yoga and supports anyone and everyone in accessing their beautiful space and work. I'm overcome with their mission. Please, if you have the ability, go to one class and see what it's about. They need our support now more than ever!

My absolute favorite studio in this region. The owners have poured their hearts and souls into making a beautiful space for practice. There are options for online and in person. I usually go to classes with Bart who welcomes all levels of practice. He encourages people to do what feels good for their bodies and never pushes anyone beyond their limits.

This is my favorite yoga studio I've ever attended. The intention behind the teaching, studio space, and community building is more than I ever expected. The owners, staff and members create a practice that is aligned with their values in a way that feels really special. I feel (gratefully) exhausted after every Saturday dharma yoga class, in particular! 10/10 would recommend

I so appreciate the love and care that has gone into this studio. Global Breath studio has brought me many positive, renewing experiences and always feels like a safe haven. They have helped create a strong community around yoga in Durham, and are a continual source of positivity for that community. The instruction is wonderful! I even had a virtual 1-on-1 with Bart recently, where he was very generous in working with me and sharing pieces of his Dharma practice that were relevant to me... I feel very blessed and grateful! Thank you!

Global Breath is hands down my favorite yoga studio & meditation space in the Triangle. Bart and Nina, the studio's owners, are incredibly welcoming and are both highly experienced, skilled teachers. The studio's focus is on exploring your inner self and increasing your mindfulness and compassion, rather than just getting a good workout.

While this is wonderful, what I truly love about the studio is the sense of community. I've made so many friends at Global Breath, and continue to meet new people every time I go there. A very diverse group is brought together by a shared interest in living a happier, more mindful life. Although GB offers fewer classes than some other local studios, there is a cohesiveness to the teaching and the space that I have not found anywhere else. It's not just random teachers and students coming in and leaving -- it's a family. But not in a creepy way. Also the space itself is super beautiful and worth seeing even if you're not that into yoga.

If you're new to the studio, I'd recommend Dharma Flow on Saturday mornings @ 9am or Mindfulness and Meditation on Wednesdays @ 7pm for a good introductory experience.

Global Breath is the only yoga studio that I have ever gone to that’s actually made me want to do yoga. I’ve tried yoga from time to time over the years and always felt like I should like it more. Then I tried a class at Global Breath and it all felt very natural. The space is beautiful. Bart and Nina are welcoming and experienced. As a newcomer to yoga, I feel very comfortable. I’m really happy that I found Global Breath, because it’s the first place that’s inspired me to do yoga on a regular basis. I would encourage anyone to stop by and see what the studio has to offer. Durham is lucky to have it.

Over the past 20 years, I have had the opportunity to practice yoga in a many studios. Global Breath is by far my favorite. The space is gorgeous, light-filled and peaceful. Tea and water are generously available and I am always warmly welcomed. I love the diversity of students and the way that bodies of all ages, shapes and ability are respected. Bart and Nina are wise and inspiring teachers and I leave classes feeling nourished, grounded and strong.

I went to my first class (kundalini yoga + meditation) at Global Breath Studios yesterday and I was absolutely blown away. I cannot say enough good things about Aubrey. She is such a kind and caring person. You can tell she puts her heart into crafting her classes, and you can feel the passion that she has for helping others. I went into Global Breath Studios feeling anxious and off, and I left feeling centered and relaxed. The studio itself is so welcoming and visually stunning. It was such a beautiful space to practice in. I am so grateful for the experience I had yesterday and I will definitely be going back as often as I can. If you thinking about taking a class here, stop thinking and do it!

I can't sing enough praises for Global Breath. Bart and Nina are kind, compassionate, patient teachers who truly care about their students' wellness. I'd been bouncing around from studio to studio, all with a lot of focus on "body," before landing at Global Breath. This is the first studio where I feel I've finally gotten in tune with the mind and breath. Classes are always a bit different, so you're able to challenge yourself in different ways with each visit. The studio is gorgeous and uniquely Durham-- huge windows, wood floors, exposed brick walls. Highly recommended!

Global Breath Studio is a nurturing and peaceful environment. The instructors are excellent, and they have a wide range of classes, special workshops, and social activities. I highly recommend this yoga studio to yogis of all levels, even complete beginners. Whenever I go to Global Breath, I come out feeling exponentially better than when I went in.

The Global Breath studio is a beautiful space to practice, whatever level you feel you are at. It is inviting, warm and nurturing. Nina and Bart have extensive knowledge and insight of Yoga as physical and spiritual food for the soul. They share that knowledge freely and encourage all of us to be OK with where we are and progress at our own pace. We are given tools to understand all the branches of Yogic practice and of how we can grow and expand as compassionate human beings in community. Different styles of Yoga are offered and explored and personal attention is incorporated in the classes, so that everybody feels comfortable yet challenged to develop your physical practice. If you are inclined to teaching or just want to delve deeper into yogic philosophy, there are yoga alliance accredited trainings and multiple workshops offered. If you want retreats, they have those too. If you want to feel that you are helping those in need, Nina and Bart are dedicated supporters of and donate a large portion of their revenue and time to the Ingrid School in Matopeni, Kenya.
Global Breath is not just a Yoga studio, it is a fun place to hang out, meet friends and materialise whatever you feel you want to attain by having a yoga practice.

The studio space is beautiful and peaceful. The yoga taught at Global Breath is gentle and connected to the mind/body/breath. Nina and Bart have created a space for a community of practice for peace, kindness and compassion that is also down-to-earth. There is frequent laughter, and no shame in falling from a pose (done it!). I attend a weekday lunchtime classes and feel totally spoiled to get so much attention since that time of day can be difficult for most folks. I wanted to develop a yoga practice that would help me to develop greater mindfulness and compassion, and am so grateful to have a space and community in which to do so.

I love practicing here! It's one of the few studios I've been to where the people are serious about practicing yoga, but don't take themselves too seriously.

They offer a variety of classes for all levels--whether you're newly exploring yoga or are an experienced practitioner who needs a challenge. Beautifully restored and clean studio space in downtown Durham. They also regularly offer awesome workshops.

Global Breath Studio is a yoga studio I’ve been so fortunate to experience. As soon as you walk up the stairs, you have the sense of being home. And when you walk into the space, it’s incredibly beautiful and open. The staff make sure that each person is seen and cared for. The variety of classes, events and Friday family meals are to not be missed. New and experienced yogis, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

Global Breath is extraordinary! I am a complete novice as far as yoga goes, and every instructor at every class I've attended has been helpful, kind, and welcoming. The space feels like a zen garden, and the course listing is accessible for everyone -- from total beginners (like me!) to advanced practitioners. I had talked myself out of trying yoga for years (I'm inflexible, I'm going to be terrible at it, you know the drill!) and Global Breath has completely changed my attitude about it. I can't recommend this studio enough! :)

I have been practicing yoga on and off for about 25 years. Global Breath is the only studio in all of that time that has inspired me to practice on an almost daily basis, day in and day out, for almost two years now, my longest run ever. The people and the atmosphere are warm and welcoming, and the teaching, particularly on the part of Nina and Bart, is excellent. There's an emphasis on listening to your own body, which means that yoga-related injuries (the reason I set my practice aside repeatedly before coming to Global Breath) are a thing of the past. At the same time, I've learned to push my limits safely. I can't recommend this studio highly enough. I give it all the stars!

Global Breath changed everything I had come to believe about yoga studios. Every time I visit Global Breath for yoga or meditation classes I am refreshed by the authentic community and teachings as well as the happy, warmth of the space (which is beautiful). I am also deeply touched by the studio's global mission and efforts to get off the mat in order to change the world. I recently did teacher training in this studio and now have the honor of teaching a class there. Global Breath Studio is amazing.

Global Breath is a warm, supportive environment. Nina and Bart offer yoga classes that go beyond what one finds elsewhere, giving students an opportunity to connect and disconnect simultaneously, in my experience. Any class that I've dropped in for has been fabulous: Ashtanga, Yoga Foundations or whatever. The only negative is that I have to go back to the world when the classes end! Wish I could yoga here all day long without end! I highly recommend Global Breath, just don't tell too many people;)

This studio is like a home to me and to so many others! This gorgeous studio in the heart of downtown Durham is inviting and offers a class schedule that works for everyone. I love going to morning classes before work, occasionally jumping into a class during lunch and I ADORE the supper club once a month-- a vegan meal is served after a great yoga class usually taught by Bart. I am not vegan or vegetarian (although I am considering trying it out) and I am always enchanted by this meal and experience overall. The chefs are rad.

If you are looking for a studio with amazing, genuine and dedicated teachers and a welcoming community rooted in acceptance and mindfulness, you have found the right studio.

I love Global Breath Studio! Give it a shot-- you will thank yourself.

Global Breath is so much more than just a place to practice yoga; it is truly a home. When I moved to Durham, I knew I needed to find a new yoga studio to practice in. I tried a few and quickly fell in love with Global Breath. The space is incredibly welcoming in amenities (with a community kitchen, tea, extra hairties, tampons, clothes, yoga mats, etc.), as well as in spirit and community. No matter the teacher and what is going on in their personal lives, they act with open and loving hearts to all who walk into the space. It is such a calming atmosphere. In addition to a robust schedule of yoga classes, there are a lot of community-building events that they hold regularly (e.g., vegan community meals, dance classes, live music, kirtan, meditation). The people at Global Breath have such big hearts for the world and everyone in it. They've partnered with many local non-profits to have fundraisers at the studio and have put together bags for yogis to give to homeless folks around Durham. The community alone is unlike anywhere else I have ever practiced and I am so grateful to be a part of it.

Now, for the yoga classes! This studio provides a great mix of classes geared towards the mind and body. There are options for those who want a very physical practice, a very mental practice, or something in-between. Before finding Global Breath, I had struggled with experiencing yoga studios that only seemed to offer one or the other. I really appreciate the wide variety of classes that I can take part in at Global Breath depending on what my mind/body needs on a given day. Some classes also incorporate live music, which is such a beautiful addition to any practice.

I always leave Global Breath feeling better, more grounded in myself, and with the world around me. I know this is an insanely long review, but I want to make sure that others have the opportunity to reap the benefits of this incredible space and the people within it that make every day a wonderful day.
