Golden Fig has the best selection of used books of any used bookstore I've been to, by far (plus great new stuff too!). Great quality, reasonable prices, and extremely friendly staff. I always leave with more than I planned to :)

A fabulous little shop with an amazing mix of used and new books! I was able to find a couple gems of used books I’ve been wanting to get. Staff inside are all very sweet! I’d suggest bringing a mask as they require you to have one (understandable) but if you don’t have one, they have disposable ones inside for you to wear! Overall, great little place and I’ll go there again once I finally read all my books!

Golden fig has a wide selection of used books I can’t find anywhere else! Most are very gently used and there are plenty of recent releases. You even can get 10% off your entire order by buying a newer book!

Lovely small book store with modern selection. Be aware that they are still masking! So it's a great place to go if you still mask up. They also take book orders.

Another excellent independent bookstore in the Triangle that's worth checking out. Really well curated selection - a nice mix of new books and affordable used copies. Good selection of NC authors and local interest, as well as some great kids and teen books. (Oh, and free parking 👏)

One of my favorite bookstores in the RTP area. Small, but clean and with a great variety.

Golden Fig Books is absolutely charming. The staff was very friendly, and obviously loves to talk about books. They also do a great job of curating their stock. Even though it's a small space, I found a lot of recent and classic books to take home with me. My only regret is that I live too far away to make regular visits practical.

I just got back from living in Japan for a year and I got really used to the Japanese used bookstore BOOKOFF, where you can get nearly any book in (usually) pristine condition for the equivalent of $1-3... naturally I stocked up on a ton & thought I would be done with American bookstores for a good stretch (culture shock was coming home to how pricey+beat-up used books tend to be in the states), but when I came home to Golden Fig I was surprised by how affordable & well-preserved David’s stock is (& immediately resumed booklust+collecting). I’ve already gotten four books and I’m going to pick up a fifth today... (randomly wanted a novel I’ve been meaning to read & when I searched the GF website it popped up as already in stock! seriously vast stock for such a cozy little place). it’s also right next to Guglhupf so lovers of fancy coffee+stockpiling books beware 💛

Very nice new & used book store. The used books are in such good condition that you have to compare prices of all the copies to tell the difference. The store in Carrboro is bigger than the one in Durham.

Golden Fig is a wonderful bookstore. It has a great selection of books, mostly new but some inexpensive used copies as well. The staff picks in particular were a standout. I bought a novel based on one of the recommendations which I really enjoyed and might not otherwise have heard of. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

The shop is small but there is a wide selection of books at a great price. I found many of the books I had on my list and then some. The space is very nice and well organized. Staff was helpful and accommodating. I will definitely return for more books in the future.

I'm so thrilled to have a local used bookshop in the neighborhood! Golden Fig is well manicured, has a great selection, but small enough to not get overwhelmed, and the prices on the used books are surprisingly low. Great ambiance, staff, everything.

Great selection of well-kept and well-priced used books. The owner clearly takes great care to ensure the books are in great condition. At first I thought it was a regular (ie, non-used, all new) bookstore! They’ve also got a North Carolina books section.

A smallish but smartly curated selection of books of all genres, mostly secondhand. This is a bookstore for book lovers, erring against mass-market fiction and nonfiction in favor of the more thoughtful and thought-provoking. They're also happy to take special orders.

This is a wonderful little bookstore! They stock new and used books, but the used books are in such pristine condition that you wouldn’t guess that they had been previously loved. The prices are very reasonable and they stock a great selection of various topics. The staff are kind and willing to help with recommendations or even just chat!

Nice little book store with a small-but-great selection of used books in a clean, bright environment. Pricing seems to hover around the $10 mark, which seems appropriate for the condition of the books. Friendly staff helped us sell our books for a very fair price. They offer options for payment in cash or store credit (if you choose the credit option, your payout is higher).
