A small, beautiful, historic library. I visited for the first time recently and enjoyed chatting with the children's librarian. There's an excellent display in the front area of old photographs. Probably the oldest of the city's libraries, founded in the 1920's, I believe. Looking forward to my next visit.

This Library is one of the smallest in Durham that I have been to. The internet is slow and it might not be the environment that you are used to. Do not let that stop you from visiting. The staff is friendly, encouraging and very helpful. I use the children's section alot with my kids and they love coming.

The best part about this library that I must brag on is cultural history and the books for sale located at the front of the library. I am super impressed by the pictures of founders and children at the library during times of segregation. Keeps things very relevant. I don't know who chooses the books to sell at this Library but if you are looking for books by black authors with African American characters you will NEVER be let down at this Library. They have the best selection throughout the year in the city. And the prices are a steal for books you would pay more for even on Amazon. I love this Library.

Overall good spot to get work done however very small and very slow internet makes you think its dial up internet sometimes lol
