The Cedar Room

Stopped while on a road trip to KC and we liked it so much that we stopped again on the way back. The lunch special was awesome. The service was great and what a cool atmosphere. Wish I had more time to have a drink but I never drink and drive just a personal choice!
It is a little pricey and a ways off the highway but it is worth the stop you will not be disappointed.

Great food , Great service even though we didn't have a reservation. My steak was $52 my wife got the chicken sandwich with fig coulis. She recommends getting it on the side.

From a "Retired" Chef's point of view. Let's talk Food, Service and Atmosphere all in that order. My wife and I started off with the Walleye Fingers for an appetizer. A wonderful crunchy coating on the outside and a flaky white inside. It also came with a homemade lemon aioli.
Now, on to my entree. Being from the Midwest myself, I've grown accustomed to quality beef and the Ribeye Steak I had the other night did not disappoint. The flavor of the steak made my taste buds dance in my mouth. I also had sauteed green beans which were cooked perfectly and very tasty.
And to finish off the evening, I had a most delicious Créme Brulée made with real vanilla beans. The dessert looked boring, but made up for it in taste.
Now, onto Service. Our Server's name was Shelby. She was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs throughout the night. She let us know what her "favorites" were on the menu and made a few recommendations. She took pictures of my wife and I and even posed for a few pictures herself as seen in this review. We will definitely ask for her to be our Server the next time we come here.
And finally, Atmosphere. The interior is quite beautiful. Besides having custom-made HUGE rolling cedar doors, the dining area has copper ceiling tiles. One of the owners (Hector) was kind enough to give me a tour of the "Back of the House" and introduce me to his team of cooks. I could tell they were all working in unison and seemed to enjoy working with each other. I highly recommend The Cedar Room for your dining experience the next time you're thinking of eating out.

Tonight was our first time there and it was fantastic. Our waitress Dani was awesome, could not be happier with the way she treated us! The food is worth it for sure. I've never had a pork chop as good as that. Get the sauce on the side because it didn't need it, but it was fun to have the other flavors with it.

I took my roommate there for his birthday as we were passing through. All around excellent place. The bartender was friendly and top notch, the food was superb, and I really liked the atmosphere and way the place was decorated. Special mention to the men's restroom that was clean and sleek looking; something that particularly stuck with me.

Was overnight in North Platte and hungry for dinner after a long drive. Picked The Cedar Room off of Google restaurants search. Had never been in North Platte and did not know what to expect.

Upon arrival was met with an outside specials board and was pleased by it's offerings. Inside was beautiful, dark wood, western motif, brass ceiling tiles, welcoming. Was seated immediately and ordered two Gin and Tonics which came in tall glasses. A+ off the bat!! Had planned on getting a steak, but couldn't resist the Creole Gumbo special. Acting all Louisiana and stuff in North Platte!!! Of all places and of all dishes - in Nebraska!?!? Kuddos for risking outside the box and comfort zone! Hit the nail directly and firmly on the head!!

First got the French Onion Soup and Brussel Sprout appetizers. OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD!!!!

For the main course my wife went wih the chicken salad sandwich, I (previously stated) the gumbo. Again, OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Really, astounded by this restaurant and the food served!! Compliment to the all female staff who truly know what they are doing. We continue affirming this fine dining establishment to anyone who will listen - even out of state. Missed not hitting it again on our return trip, but have vowed that if we are ever in North Platte again we will visit a second time.

Kayla was very prompt, kind and professional, not to mention observant. She kept my water filled which can be a challenge for most servers. The blackened steak was excellent! The early bird menu gave us a perfect amount of food for a great price. We did volunteer to move when they tried to rearrange their dining area for, I presume, a large party. They were sincere with their apologies for the inconvenience. We truly enjoyed eating here. We look forward to the next time we drive through.

This was a fantastic dining experience! The ambiance is spectacular; old brick walls, copper metal stamped ceilings, and a artistic, unique cedar door into the bar area. The steaks live up to their billing too! I had the steak medallions with a gravy, delicious! Peach cobbler tasted homemade. Desiree provided particularly outstanding service. Highly recommended!

Traveling through, stopped for dinner.
I tried the pork chop with green beans.
The chops were very juicy and tasty.
My wife tried the Cesar salad with crispy chicken. Salad was good and the chicken was very good. Son had the hamburger with side winder fries. The burger was excellent and the fries unique and very good.
We also tried the salted caramel lava cake. It was decadent.

The food was amazing! My husband & I shared the ribeye steak with sweet potato fries and mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly. We both loved the sweet potato fries with the dip that reminded me of icing. The service was wonderful. Our waitress did a good job of taking care of us. We split the meal and the waitress was kind enough to split our meal on two different plates.

Everything I've had here was great!!

The lobster is top notch. Literally felt like you were at a seaside town eating the Lobster Roll.

The salads are also really good and I am waiting to bring my kids here so we can work our way through all of the deserts on a hot day.

Service was good. Food was very fresh. I sincerely hope this place stays around, it offers you something you cannot get without driving 4 hours in either direction.

No compensation was given for this review, but I wouldn't mind a piece of Tres Leches cake thrown my way!

This is a high class restaurant with a beautiful location. The food is outstanding in quality. The service was prompt and repeatedly attentive to our table. One of the owners was especially pleasant to chat with, and recommended several fun things to see/do in North Platte as well as some history. We can’t wait to go back!

Such a lovely place with the best folks working there. The ribeyes and beef dip perfection. Our small dog was welcomed warmly with a beefy patty and a bowl of water. Ump was in 7th heaven. Thank you !

This is a wonderful restaurant with friendly and responsive staff. The chicken fried steak and loaded potato were amazing. The bartender was was friendly and talented as she made a blueberry lemon drop cocktail. the salted caramel lava cake was over the top delicious. Food was sooo good I asked the chef to come out so I could praise and tip him. Sorry, I I didn't take pics of our food, but the presentation was very inviting. Highly recommend this establishment!

The Cedar Room hits on all points. Friendly, accommodating service. Appealing atmosphere. A great mixed drink menu. Oh, and the food! Fantastic. Our group all ordered the special- Surf and Turf Wagyu steak and lobster tail, with a side of root vegetables. We were licking our plates clean. I was skeptical because I've had real Wagyu in Japan and this was USA sourced Wagyu, which can be a poor imitation at times. We asked to inspect the cuts prior to ordering and our request was accommodated. One of our group members went to FFA Nationals for beef grading. He was impressed and very pleased with the marbling, which looked authentic to the Wagyu I've had in Japan. That said, the proof was in the mouth. Perfectly tender, juicy, and delicious. These folks do it right. Can't wait to go to The Cedar Room again!

This is the best restaurant around north platte and Mccook. The staff are very professional and the food is divine. My wife had a snickers martini and she said it was amazing too!

It was good food. Great customer service. Great drinks. Decent time for food and drinks. Appropriate time for food and drinks. Will go again.

Everything was delicious! My husband loved his steak and I ordered the house salad that was huge! I couldn’t believe it was only $11 but it was so fresh and flavorful, even with no protein added. Caramel lava cake was great too. Atmosphere and staff are very welcoming.

I've never been here, but found this place through trip advisor. Everything was great, good cocktail, very good wine selection, and my steak was a perfect med. rare. No complaints at all.

Enjoyed the lunch special BLT with sweet potato fries. The dipping sauce for the sweet potato fries was something that I've not seen before and was great.
