Beautiful woodsy park with multiple hiking trails. History of the red stone quarry exhibited on informative photo plaques along the Quarry Trail. Waterfalls, diverse vegetation, evidence of quarry activity with cliffs and abandoned cement structures for the process. Beautiful xc routevin the winter.

Nice park right off I-35, was a old stone quarry. The trails show what is left of the quarry. Very senic waterfalls as well.

This park is a true natural playground. Hiking paths take you along the river to places where you can jump right in. We can't help but spend all day hiking every time we come here, but the camp ground is nice and quiet at night, too, when we're here!

Water was shut off for the season, but the grounds were well kept, the camp tables were sturdy, and the bathrooms were surprisingly clean and well vented

Quiet campground with plenty of trees in the center section to give you privacy. Beware, the roads in is narrow so if you are not adept at backing a camper, choose a site by the shower. They are all very open

Very nice park. Good trails for hiking. Bring your fishing equipment and try for trout on the river. Lots of cool features along the river.

Hidden gem. One of my favorite parks in Minnesota. Quiet, well-maintained, great trails, and spectacular views. Beautiful all year, too.

One of my favorite state park campgrounds. The sites were nice and even though they are relatively close together, they feel private due to woods between each site. The hike to the waterfall is short as well.

the place.is amazing! and the highway noise is real ,I mean like lagitamit,it slowly gets quiet at night but by five o'clock we are full on traffic noise! I wonder if I should even tell you about the train. I don't have any other complaints though EVERYTHING else about this park that you would come to a park like this for is just what you would expect, Great. but if you don't like random train horns in the night, and early morning traffic, well don't come here then .5stars for everything else.

My families favorite State Park near the Twin Cities, it's only an hour drive up 35. There are plenty of walking paths, a small campground and a nice river. Great for a day trip or some tenting.

We rented the camper cabin over Father's Day weekend this place has amazing hiking and it has to feel of the Boundary Waters area but closer to home. There is only one camper cabin so if you want to utilize that you must book ahead but it is great because you can show up packing a lighter load and still feel as though you are camping the cabin has no electricity no AC no heat it's just a beds and a solid structure that comes in handy during Stormy Weather that might wash you out if you were in a tent. There are ample hiking paths if you plan on fishing I'd recommend Dead Man's Trail that's the one that gets closest to the river, there are also paths where you can see waterfalls and while hiking we saw lots of groups doing guided rafting or kayaking. There are showers located near the camp entrance.

Stayed here in 2015 with a large group and had an awesome time. The sites are well maintained, provide decent privacy for the spacing and have access to great trails for every age group (paved and dirt options)

Sites were large, flat, and well maintained. The bathrooms were closed but the vault toilets were clean and stocked
