This hotel is AMAZING!!!
The decor is old world charm with modern amenities.
The rooms are clean, large, and well maintained.
The dining room continues the theme of 1920’s. While the restaurant is small, the the placement of the tables provide adequate space to have a private conversation. The food is delicious!!
The staff are very welcoming and accommodating both in the restaurant and hotel.
The valets/bell hops, Steven and Baylor, and Jennifer, at the front desk, were super engaging, knowledgeable and efficient.
I am a repeat customer and would highly recommend this hotel!!

We truly loved every minute of our stay here! I believe we stayed on the 9th floor and received exceptional service. The bathroom and shower were beautiful and newly upgraded. While some have mentioned being placed in the old tower, that wasn’t our experience. However, if that does happen, I highly recommend immediately speaking with the concierge to request a room change to the new tower. If you're unable to secure it, I would suggest asking for a refund, as there’s no reason anyone should pay the premium price for the new tower and end up in the old one.

The concierge was fantastic, sending up a knife, cork, and multiple waters free of No charge. We later went to the steakhouse downstairs and, even though we arrived just ten minutes before closing, the wonderful staff gave us full service! The lobster, crab, and shrimp tower was phenomenal—don’t hesitate to visit!

Had to be in Chattanooga for a business lunch on a Friday and decided to bring my husband and stay the night. Husband was allowed an early check-in while I was at lunch, which was very helpful. We hit the bar for a couple very nice cocktails and the service was friendly, a great experience. Came back to the bar after walking half a mile or so to Naked River Brewing & BBQ (which was also really good). Toured room 311. Front desk and valet super friendly too. Interesting back-story at this historic hotel, beautiful woodwork inside. Overall a very good stay, good location, comfortable bed, highly recommend.

My friend and I took a girls trip to Chattanooga and had such an amazing experience at The Read House. The hotel is beautiful, the staff were amazing, and the overall experience was top notch. Special shoutout to all of the valet staff for being quick, efficient, and friendly, and to Will for being an awesome bartender. The only downside I would say was the bathtub. For being an incredible and luxury hotel, the bathtub looks like it has seen better days and is in dire need of replacement. This wasn't a big deal for us but it was just surprising to see. It did not impact our stay at all though - I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Chattanooga. The location can't be beat!

Beautiful hotel with great ambience! The pool area is very fun and nice. I never go to the indoor pool at hotels, but this felt like a mini-resort. The 1920's vibe is very fun. All the staff had a wonderful, hospitable attitude. It's a little further from the river than I'm used to but definitely walkable, and if you can't walk, there is a free shuttle stop just across the street. We took the shuttle twice because the summer is just so hot in the south, and it was very easy, and the drivers were nice. Great experience! I will probably stay here again!

I have stayed at the Read House a few times for business and always had a great experience. I highly recommend staying in the historic tower rooms -- they have nice furnishings and great style. There is a good selection of restaurants around the area that you can walk to. The hotel bar is swanky and a great place to get a drink with colleagues on business or for a personal night cap. As far as service, all of the staff I have interacted with have been super friendly and helpful. I recently had a small issue as I was going to sleep with a fire alarm or something that started making a buzzing sound; it was late at night, but the night manager Allen got me set up in another room, helped me with my luggage, and overall handled the situation perfectly. If I have to come up with something to improve on, I would just recommend that guests call to the front desk to get their valet parked car ready before they head down; especially if it's busy, it can take a little while to retrieve. I plan to keep returning to the Read House whenever I'm in Chattanooga.

This has been one of the best experiences I've ever had and we've only been here a short while. Amazing atmosphere, clean and beautiful, elegant. Truly amazing staff. Rooms are to die for. Plus some of the best service I've ever experienced from Allen and our tour guide John K! He was so energetic and gave us the most wholesome and entertaining tour. I can truly say this hotel is blessed with amazing staff. Keep up the phenomenal job Read House!!

We could not have asked for a better place to stay at! Everything was immaculate. We were awe stricken as soon as we saw the main lobby. The decor and history of everything was beautiful. Our room was so nice and all the amenities were perfect. The staff including the valet were spectacular and so friendly! We did get a drink at the bar and eat at the Chophouse. Both were amazing. Service was top notch. The quality of food and drinks were the best. I also really loved the convenience of having the Starbucks. The location of the hotel is great. Lots of restaurants/ things to do nearby. Thank you for hosting us. We will be back!

This was our second time staying at the Read House Hotel. It’s walking distance to the convention center and tons of great restaurants and shops! The hotel itself is gorgeous and has all the amenities you could ask for. I was super impressed with the gym and pool, both small, but never too busy to enjoy. The all-day Starbucks downstairs was great (and well utilized!) as well as the bar lounge and top notch restaurant. The staff, from the front desk to housekeeping, are very helpful and friendly. The history found displayed on the exterior of the building is very interesting. We also took a complimentary guided tour of the haunted Room 311, which was on our floor and I got the chills every time I passed going to and from the elevator!

Additionally, BEST first impression: we received a text message from the hotel the day before our arrival asking if there were any questions or anything they could help with. I texted back about my previous request at the time of booking about adjoining rooms with our other party. To my surprise, I got a phone call from Dallas at the front desk within minutes and made sure our rooms were together, even giving us an upgrade. Stellar service from that moment through the time we checked out.

We will never stay anywhere else when we visit Chattanooga!

Absolutely beautiful hotel and the most amazing staff ever! This has to be one of the most elegant and detail oriented hotels I have ever stayed in. It was perfect! Our room was beautiful and spotless and the bed was so comfortable. The bathroom is huge with a shower to die for. The restaurant inside the hotel is top notch and our food was perfect from the beginning of our meal through dessert! I can’t recommend this place enough! We will be back soon!!! Many thanks 🩷

Wow! The room was so clean. The staff was super friendly and helped us with any requests we had. Bathroom was immaculate. The entire hotel is beautifully decorated. The Hotel is also on the route of the FREE buses that go to and from the Riverfront/Aquarium area. Valet parking is $25 a day but worth it because you never have to worry about where to park or keeping up with a meter.

You can find beautiful hotels in downtown Chattanooga, but you can't find one with better service than The Read House! The staff was welcoming, warm and helpful. Anything we needed was just a matter of telling a member of the staff! We were made to feel at home!

This is such a great, historic hotel. We stayed here for a week and had such a pleasant experience with our children (and even our dog!) It’s centrally located downtown, the rooms are very clean, although we were originally put into a room that did have mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, they were able to quickly fix the issue and move us to a different room.

The pool is very nice, warm water and plenty of seating.

The lobby is extraordinary - my children truly felt like they were royalty that week, it is so classy and beautiful.

We love a stay at this hotel.
It has an amazing lore and the architecture and design details are a visual feast.
Great service and comfortable stay.
There is plenty to do and see nearby as well such as lookout mountain and Ruby falls as well as a nice walk to the river where you can stop to have a drink, a bite to eat or take in local art.

One of our favorite hotels out of all the places we’ve visited. Such deep history and the decor is off the chain! The staff has always been super helpful and friendly during all of our stays here, which has been a lot of visits!

Room 311 is supposedly haunted, it may be but we didn’t encounter and ghostly activity during our stay, we spent a Saturday night in there back on 10/8/22.

There is a Starbucks located inside for the coffee drinkers, they don’t honor the app. You can get your points but just no discounts.

I would recommend Bridgeman’s Chophouse, pricey but has excellent food and service! Located inside the hotel.

Enjoy your stay!

My colleagues and I spent 4 nights here and by far one of best experiences we have had as a group. The food at the chop house is worth every penny, we had excellent service everywhere we went and the staff were friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend the Read House for any occasion. I want to personally thank Abby for making our stay such a success.

This was one of the best places I’ve stayed! Loved the location, decor, history! The staff were very friendly, and we had so much fun taking photos and playing checkers in the Lobby. Was a great value for the price - loved having access to great amenities and fast valet parking. 10/10 would recommend.

My husband and I stayed in a room in the Historic Tower for a romantic getaway in December 2022 and had a FANTASTIC time! The room and the service were excellent. We felt like we were the only guests! I normally prefer a hotel that offers a free breakfast, but the Starbucks in the hotel was great. And the location is perfect - right near all of the must-see attractions and great restaurants a friend who lives in Chattanooga recommended to us. We are Jewish, but even I had to admit the Christmas decorations were beautiful. I felt like I was on the set of Downton Abbey - a real '20s American home!
I always bring home a souvenir from places we've visited - a matchbook, a pen, etc. And I realized recently - July 2024 - that I had lost my pen from the Read House! I was upset because it had so much sentimental value.
I called them, and a very kind man named Jody said he would send me 2 pens AND a pad of Read House stationery. Of course I offered to pay for them, and the shipping to my home, but he wouldn't hear of it!
So I promised to write a glowing review for them, and now I have.
So - Stay at the Read House! You will love it! Tell Jody I sent you!

The hotel is beautiful and charming and full of character. One of the most unique we've ever stayed in. Kind of feels like going back in time. Service was great, food and drinks were great, and the overall vibe the entire stay was really, really nice. The architecture and classic decor are not only a treat for the senses but give you a warm and cozy feeling.
