Scotties On The River

Another fantastic meal at Scotties! Easily my favorite Chattanooga restaurant. You can’t beat the food and ambiance! I lived on the beach in Florida for 10 years and somehow Scottie’s has fresher tasting fish and far superior oysters than I ever experienced in Florida. The cod on the fish and chips dish falls apart in your mouth from tenderness. There is a nice selection of oysters from East coast, gulf and West coast, all super fresh and served with the proper accompaniments. The views of the river make dining all the more delightful. Skip the long lines and wait at Boathouse and opt for Scotties. You won’t be disappointed.

This was the perfect way to end our trip to Chattanooga! Scottie’s prices are reasonable but it still felt like fine dining. The staff were helpful with deciding on what to pick and accommodating with getting us as close to the window as possible (as it was a rainy day). We shared the fire cracker shrimp for appetizers. I had the stuffed shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes with skin 10/100 recommend. My partner had the steak and loaded mash with Caesar salad. He raved about it. My 3 year old ordered an ATE a cheeseburger with fries. We ordered the Bacon drink, can’t remember the name, I wasn’t a huge fan.

As I eyeballed others food being brought out everything looked amazing! I don’t think you can go wrong here. Can’t wait to return to test out my theory.

The food is good Superior Service. We were first greeted by Malachi the front door and was a extremely kind and professional associate. Mar I believe Mary Beth is her real name took care of us and served us and we were very pleased with her Pleasant personality and quality of service. Will definitely visit this place again in the future. Y'all are awesome!

Awesome atmosphere. Awesome service. I ordered a bacon washed old fashioned bourbon while I waited for my table. Very nice. Cornbread and hush puppies were very good. My ribeye was the best I’ve had in a long time. Melted in my mouth like butter. Wife almost didn’t need a knife to cut her filet. Both steaks were cooked to perfection. I left full and happy.

Such a beautiful restaurant! Great atmosphere and beautiful view. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and all of the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! 10/10

I had the pleasure of having lunch here today while in town for a concert this evening. I am staying at the Springhill Suites on the river, and this restaurant is attached to the hotel.

I went down at lunch and got a table on the deck overlooking the water. It is 81 degrees here today, with a cool breeze blowing right through the patio area. I asked about the fish n chips (my Grandma moved here from England and brought me up on fish n chips) and the server assured me they were completely prepared in house starting with fresh cod.

To sum up:

* Food was DELICIOUS! Well done!
* Service was polite and sociable, and made the experience more enjoyable.
* Environment was awesome. Cool breeze on a patio overlooking the river, while enjoying my delicious lunch.

If I lived local, I could see me dining here quite often.

Scottie’s on the River was recommended to us by a local hotel. Sometimes there can be a bit of hesitancy when hotel staff recommend certain restaurants, but boy were we glad we asked! This restaurant had MAGNIFICENT service, food, and atmosphere. We have a child which always is taken into consideration when making dinner choices but once again, the staff was great with kids! Alex was our server, and despite being in Chattanooga, we actually grew up in the same exact remote area in the opposite end of the state. He was FANTASTIC. He and his trainee made great recommendations that did not disappoint at all. Rarely on a vacation do you want to do the same dining experience twice, but I think I could eat there 3-4 times a week and rarely order the same dish as it has a wide variety of cuisine on the menu! I would HIGHLY recommend the chop with apple cinnamon chutney but the cheese balls as an appetizer was also a great choice! Normally run of the mill restaurants you get great food with sub-par service and vice-versa, but service and quality were great. They also didn’t rush you or make you feel pressured to turn over table to generate more revenue. GREAT time and worth giving them an opportunity to make your stay in Chattanooga a notch better in dining aspect.

We had a great lunch outside overlooking the TN river. Food was fresh and service was friendly. Great location and cool spot.

Really delicious and small bay oysters! Exactly the way I prefer. The ribeye was tender, and salad was delicious. The noise level is a little high, but the views make up for it.

Great place to dine and wonderful views of the river while enjoying your food. I recommend the stuffed shrimp. Also the she crab 🦀 soup is right up there with the best I've ever had.

A beautiful restaurant in the hotel on the river. Gorgeous view, delicious fish and fries.
They even let us bring our dog inside with us because we were going for a walk.
Parking:plan to pay $10 unless you park across the street from the hotel it's just meter parking there and walk down to the restaurant.

Best restaurant experience that I have had in awhile. Beautiful restaurant in a scenic setting, diverse menu, great service. The food was delicious and plentiful. What left the biggest impression was the value we got. Haven't felt that way in a long time! A big wedge salad for $7?! Our bill for 2 entrees and a salad was $44. And Sarah our server was wonderful.

Absolutely love this place! We come here not only for the beautiful view of the river but the seafood is so fresh and always cooked to perfection! We are originally from Florida so finding great and fresh seafood so far inland is hard. This place has exceeded those expectations. Definitely our go to place for oysters!!!!! The oysters beinville are our favorites!

We so enjoyed our first visit! All the service and food was great. The food standouts were the scallops, grilled asparagus, and grits. We plan to be back! I recommend Scotties!

First time trying this restaurant and we were impressed. I had the lobster tail (huge!) and my husband had the country boil. Everything was fantastic! Pricey? Yes. It was our anniversary so we didn’t look at prices. We will definitely be back.

Update . Love this place and would love to return but will not due to the pay parking. Tried to charge me again. Took all day disputing. Please get a better parking situation. Great place. Not a long wait maybe 10 min. On a Sunday . Food was great

Food was delicious, service was exceptional and the atmosphere was fantastic! Loved being able to have a great view of the Tennessee River while we ate!

Fun place with great food, service and views! Visited Chattanooga and was pleasantly surprised by both the hospitality and preparation of this dining establishment. You can tell that the chef thinks long and hard when preparing the food and the general manager selects personnel wisely. Comprehensive menu with great pricing. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in town, or, if you live in Chattanooga, you’re lucky to have a place like this to enjoy the city!

I would make Scottie’s my 1st stop and 1st choice hands down. Our food was EXCELLENT. We were in town for 4 days and should have eaten there everyday.

Excellent food & service. We were seated in an enclosed patio near the window with riverfront view. Ordered a Bloody Mary where you add all the toppings you want from their Bloody Mary bar, like sweet pickles, celery, quail eggs, feta, bacon, and more. We truly enjoyed the spinach and crawfish dip! The dip tasted amazing and the naan was warm and soft. We finished with a chocolate cake, 3 layers of delicious chocolate!! Service was great! Great price! Will plan to return next time we’re in town.
