Howard Johnson by Wyndham Chattanooga Lookout Mountain

Rooms are fine.. bathroom is the outdated but clean. Bed was comfortable (sheets slide off easily tho) we had a king size. Stayed a week and it wasn't noisy at all. Will definitely return .......

I stayed here after driving 9 hours from Illinois. The gentleman who checked me in was very nice answered all my questions and accommodating I asked for a downstairs room and he told me he could absolutely do that for me.
The room was pretty clean could have been a little bit better. The tub was huge and much appreciated after my long drive. The bed was extremely comfortable. The vent in the bathroom was a little bit yucky but no big deal floors were clean. Tv had good channels and amazing reception. No coffee maker unfortunately, that would have been amazing. But had a fridge and microwave, both were clean. Easy access off the highway.

Overall I definitely would stay here again without a doubt.

My couple days in this hotel were great. Comfy king size bed, AC works great, free internet and breakfast were also perks to being here. It has a retro 60's look that makes this place unique, with the popcorn texture walls and ceilings. My room was very clean, I'm very particular about bathroom cleanliness, it wasn't to my standards, but overall it was clean. Staff was very polite and accessible. I paid $70 a night so for a decent budget you get a lot out of the rooms here. I'd definitely book again.

Stayed one night for an impromptu trip to Chatt for Labor Day weekend and this was the best priced place. Originally found on Airbnb, but found it even cheaper on their website. Check-in/out was super painless and the staff person was incredibly nice. The room and bathroom were clean, but looked like they were still getting some reno work done. Beds were pretty comfy and the shower had plenty of hot water.

The only down side was the room door. It closed and locked easily (I felt secured), but there was a pretty big gap still between the door and the door frame. It let in a good amount of sound and light. This isn’t necessarily a deal breaker for me since I could sleep through a hurricane, but might be an issue for others.

I don't know why they're saying it's a two star. This is a really safe really clean really nice place to stay The front desk was really helpful, really nice. This is more like a four star hotel. Howard Johnson's motels have been in business for at least 60 years. And I have stated hundreds of motels every year.

I’m this day in age we can’t say that a picture is worth 1000 words. Just about every photo has gone through a filter of some sort or has been hella doctored up on some type of photo shop app before it makes its debut on social media or even in this case, a hotel website. The pictures of this HoJo on their website Looks like they were stock photos used from a concept remodel and one of the corporate testing facilities. I decided to take a risk and book the room. I was shocked to say the least the second I opened the door to my room. This place looked exactly as it did in the photos online and it even smelled clean, but not fresh paint, bleach or disinfecting household cleaner smell. It smelled like clean unscented air. The beds were firm-ish and there was plenty of soft pillows. I originally booked the room for one night as an impromptu stop on my way home from Atlanta, but when I overslept because the bed was so comfortable and woke up to the housekeeper trying to open the door I decided that it was best to stay another night. The staff was super friendly and they even let me get a late check out. I also love the vibrant pops of color with the Turqouois and orange that they have in the rooms as well as throughout the property. I will definitely stay here again hands down. The price for this nice and clean of a hotel room can’t be beat. If you’re on the fence about staying here just take my word for it, because the saying, “You get what you pay for!” Needs not apply here. I got way more great quality than I ever expected.

The beautiful scenery and location. The motel was amazing, clean and friendly staff. Manager was very helpful in all the matters we asked and very accommodating and professional. Been recommending to my family and friends. Make sure to book reservation, they feel up their rooms fast.

Checked room before check in. No carpet, Wood floors a plus for keeping clean. Rooms were decently decorated. Furniture scratched needs some attention, but that is cosmetic. Beds were clean and comfortable, that is what I needed. Stopped due to being very tired and was going to Runy falls next morning. No tickets available so had to go somewhere else. Satisfied with my stay, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast did not care for. Continental only. Not much of choice. Bypassed the breakfast. I would stay there again.

Great overnight stay. Professional and knowledgeable staff. The room was cozy and very comfortable. Located where several businesses were walkable. Will stay again on my next visit to the city.

This hotel is a must stay positive attitudes nice clean rooms and beds. Pleasant atmosphere.. Positive vibes, great hospitality , breakfast gets 5 stars… I stay here at least 4 to 5 times a month.. Great parking for 18 wheelers

This is the best hotel in the area for the price. Fully remodeled rooms and exterior. There was an issue with my booking so the manager upgraded me to a king suite no extra charge. This place has the feel of a luxury hotel once I got to my room. Comfy beds, pillows, super nice sheets and comforter. The a/c fridge and microwave all worked very well. The t.v had full cable lineup. The shower was nice and hot with full water pressure. I could tell that the owner understands customer satisfaction is vital to running a strong sustainable business. You won't be disappointed when staying here. This is my go to hotel from now one when in Chattanooga! Thank you Howard Johnson staff for an excellent and memorable stay!

Front desk are friendly and welcoming. Good location off the highway. So far when we stayed it has been a nice place. Floor no carpet.

9/18/2021 just checked out of room 128. This place is one of the cleanest hotels in this price point that I've stayed at in the past 2 years of constant work travel. The beds were SUPER comfy and there was a better than average hair dryer. As it was a Friday night, we expected the "residential-type" guests to be populating the hotel and expecting the nuisances that came with it, but there was none of that! I definitely recommend this hotel. It looks like it's been recently updated, and I will reiterate the cleanliness factor. The room smelled wonderful when we checked in.

Great location only 10 minutes from most major attractions. Rooms were clean and service was good. This is a great budget hotel.

We love the location because walking distance from McDonald's in Hardee's. Not from a Walmart and other stores and restaurants with good service and food. Also my sandal broke and had to go to Dollar tree got a good pair for $5.00. We also was close to Ruby Fall and Look Out Mt. Very rested, had fun just walking around, pet friendly, even Tennessee aquarium was not far. River Walk. We will go back again to this motel Howard Johnson by the Wyndham it was fantastic. My kids swim at the pool we had. Great time very relaxing.

I booked a room here because I had some points for a free hotel stay and we were in the area for the weekend because of car shows. I'm giving this hotel 5 stars due to the fact that they were very friendly and prompt with getting us a room, our room was clean and smelled clean, the beds were so comfy, the pool was small but clean and my daughter had a blast swimming, they also gave us some pool towels to use. Yes, I read the reviews beforehand but our stay was great. For what you pay it all was good. This was no 5 star hotel ofcourse but they did fine with what they offer.

This hotel should deserve more stars. Nice scent when you enter, clean and modern, low price I paid only $56 including taxes and fees . I see the 1 star from people complaining about smoking room. They should specify very clear that I want a NO SMOKING room!!!! Otherwise the clerk how should know if you smoke or not? In this county, the smoking it IS NOT prohibited in the rooms. Every county it's different

I understand some people have expectations when they see a big name tied to a hotel. I've never stayed in a HJ but this experience surpassed my expectations. Reading the reviews before our arrival, I was skeptical. Upon arrival, the service desk was polite and friendly. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was on the first floor and easily accessible. When we got into the room, yes there was a smell, but otherwise it was clean, updated, and comfortable. There was no sign of bugs or pests. The location was OK, it was slightly run down but I didn't feel unsafe or anything. It was nice to see a 24 hour gas station and a McDonald's within walking distance. For 64ish bucks a night after taxes, having a microwave and fridge in the room was a plus as well. Overall, I would stay here again based on my experience, simple amenities, good price, and proximity to the highway.

Update:
We stayed again. The room was clean. The water was hot. The bathroom was clean. The bed was a cloud again. The lady at the front desk was wonderful. We booked and did not do it correctly. She got us a room for the night we showed up and canceled the room we did not want.

We had a great stay. Breakfast was hot and had several choices. The room was clean. The beds and pillows where like sleeping in a cloud. The staff was exceptional. They where helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The manager said the rooms where being updated and it showed. I would absoutly stay again and reccomend.
