SUMO Steak & Sushi

Great food, we have been here twice and loved it both times. We all get all you can eat and share appetizers and sushi rolls. There are so many choices and the food is fresh. The staff is very attentive and really nice.

Best sushi I've had in a while and the portions are huge! I can't wait to go back again It's so good! The Hibachi chicken plate is enough for two days I couldn't even eat half at the restaurant. I definitely recommend for atmosphere too the lighting is very calm and it's pretty quiet.

Ive been travelling for work for thr last week. I've been looking for great spots. And this is just that. All you can eat but be sure to eat all of it. Waitress was so sweet and food was amazing

The food was wonderful! Had the all you can eat Sushi. It was delicious. The price point was just right. However, I don't agree that you should be charged extra money for 3 pieces of sushi left. Don't order more than your tummy can handle! Otherwise, everything was wonderful!

Always great service and food. The portions are very generous we always share a plate and order sushi and appetizer. Leave satisfied and full . Had the chicken and shrimp hibachi comes with rice AND noodles. Soup AND salad. Also had the sumo shrimp with creamy sauce awesome amazing and mouthwatering. Spicy crab roll was also very delicious

My family and I ate here today. We were seated quickly and a waitress was quick to come take our order. The food all came out super quick and , as you can tell from the pictures I've attached, it was beautiful. The food all tasted good and was perfectly cooked and prepared. We left happy and full. We would highly recommend this restraunt if you want great sushi that isn't overly priced.

Highly recommend! The staff is very friendly. We happened to come in right before the dinner rush so it was perfect timing. The food was made quick and tasted amazing. We got a Yummy Yummy sushi roll and chicken fried rice dinner and they did not disappoint. The gentleman next to us got a few sushi rolls and they put it in a wooden tray that looks like a boat. This is yet another place that looks a little deceiving on the outside but the inside is a really nice atmosphere. We were skeptical at first when we saw the place out in the parking lot even after reading the really good reviews but we tried anyway and we are really glad we went.

Food here was excellent and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The sushi rolls were very reasonably priced and just the right sized portions to enjoy multiple different kinds. You can really tell the chefs are very well trained and practiced at their art. They have a wonderfully diverse menu and the presentation was gorgeous. 10/10 will be back. Make sure you try one of their high quality sake selections too.

My second visit and still absolutely fabulous! I highly recommend the tuna tataki ! The spices and sauce added just the right amount of kick without overpowering the taste of the tuna. The chef's special tuna was excellent as well. Service was wonderful and mask/distancing was respected. This will probably be my go-to sushi place in Macon.

Very clean, great service, and an awesome environment if you’re looking for a nicer dinning experience. The food was great for the price would definitely recommend to anyone looking for fresh sushi or hibachi.

Got the hibachi filet and chicken and it was really good. As an appetizer I got the beef wrapped in scallops and couldn't eat it. I suggest avoiding it. Other than that I was pleased.

Every dish we tried was incredible good. Recommend it one hundred percent. The service is A+

Update 12/26/23: Celebrated my wife's birthday here tonight. Still just as great as it has been. I enjoyed the Sushi regular. Can't wait to do all you can eat Sushi.

Old review: I have tried shashimi at several different places around the area and of the local offerings, the majority were subpar to mediocre at best.
Well here comes Sumo to the rescue! This place is hands down the best location in Middle Georgia for sashimi and sushi.
I had a Sushi and shashimi combo and Oh My Goodness! The freshness of the shashimi was amazing! That kind of melt in your mouth texture and goodness rivals any offerings from the big city places I have eaten at. Each piece of nigiri sushi was perfectly presented and very tasty. The California roll that accompanies the combo was good as well.
My wife and kids had shrimp yaki soba, shrimp chahan, chicken yaki udon and a shrimp tempura roll. The cooked entrees were large enough for leftovers and everyone said their dishes were delicious.
My daughter wolfed down her entire shrimp tempura roll and helped work on my combo.
We had fried cheesecake, strawberry mochi ice cream, and vanilla fried tempura ice cream for dessert. All the dessert dishes were delicious.
I will try the hibachi on my next visit and update my review then.
I most definitely would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great Japanese restaurant.

Very good sushi, and dine in was available. Fast friendly service from the staff. It was a Thursday night and they had good deals on sushi for the Thursday special. First time ever trying but would definitely go back again.

We came to try the all you can eat sushi, which starts after 3:3pm Monday - Friday for $25.99 per person, and we're so glad we did!

First, service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Also, food comes out quickly and is extremely fresh and made to order.

The all you can eat menu has a ton of options, from apps to rolls and even included hibachi entrees. We tried multiple rolls and enjoyed every one of them.

Overall, the value is great and we will definitely be back.

We saw this place by chance and ended up having our meal here. Turns out, they've just opened and we were absolutely amazed!

We ordered some Gyoza and the Love Boat for 2. Also, the chef sent some samples our way which I forgot to ask the name of the dish.

God only knows all the emotions I went through with that first bite; it was glorious. I had a huge grin...you know, that one you give out when flavor hits your soul.

The customer service was superb. I am so glad we found this gem. It has become our favorite and we wil be coming back!

I went and had sushi last night at sumo with my wife. It was very delicious, service was great and a atmosphere was pleasant as well. Jenny's son always runs a good business. I will not hesitate to go back and eat there again.

All you can eat was a good deal, let's you try some things you probably wouldn't have wanted to risk the money on otherwise. Everyone was very nice, and the sushi was good!
