Big Pines Mountain House of Tahoe

I loved this room. We booked it super late at night, everywhere else was crazy expensive, and honestly we weren’t sure what to expect. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see everything was clean, larger room than expected, and at least in our specific room, there was a bunk bed! Which would have been the most awesome thing if we were traveling with our toddler at the time. Don’t think they all have it, but again, very pleasantly surprised. Would definitely visit again for the value and quality.

It’s on the cheaper side but holds up really well. The lady at the front desk was very sweet and helpful! Rooms were clean and nice no issues there, it’s a bit older but if that doesn’t bother you then it’s good, also super close to everything. Would absolutely stay here again! (I’ve had some cheap places screw me out of deposits for the smallest thing, they didn’t which gives them even more points in my book for not doing that) 9/10 would stay again!

I recently stayed at big pine mountain motel and had an excellent experience. The location is superb—it's close to the center, within walking distance to restaurants, and just a 5-minute drive to the beach. The room was good, and the front desk staff were incredibly helpful upon our arrival. They made sure we had a room that accommodated our family's needs. I appreciate their service and highly recommend this motel for anyone looking for a budget-friendly option to enjoy Tahoe with their family.

The location of this place the best. It makes it possible to walk around no matter what time it is. Rooms were decent size and available to 5-6 people stay there. There were all needed amenities in the rooms. The one thing I can tell for sure is that it is the number 1 place to come and stay without doubt. Absolutely, I will visit this place one more time.

Beautiful place. VERY accommodating owners. Locked my key in the room and they showed up right away to help. They have pods that give u your key when you arrive. Don't even need to check in. They just open key pod remotely and you're good to go. Amazing. They give you much coffee in your room too. And a fridge.

The hotel is located in a very centric area. Easy to find & to check in. After midnight on the weekends it’s hard to find parking inside the hotel premises but there is plenty outside the property. The neighborhood is safe & plenty of lights on the streets. The rooms need some renovation. They’re old looking & old appliances. But despite of the age of the hotel rooms, everything works. The room was clean. I had a pleasant stay. Thank you!

We stayed at this hotel and it was nice. Shower was definitely the best thing in the room. My only complaint is that the floor had lumps and cracks that caused my elderly mother in law to trip but other than that it was nice.

My recent stay at Big pines mountain house of Tahoe the kitchenette room was well-designed and efficiently laid out. Upon entering, I was greeted by a cozy living space with a comfortable bed and a dining area. The kitchenette was neatly tucked away but easily accessible, equipped with everything I needed for a convenient stay. This included a mini-fridge, microwave, stovetop, sink, and basic cookware and utensils. The addition of a coffee maker was a thoughtful touch, perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee before starting the day.

I don't understand the other reviews because this spot was amazing! Very clean, the kindest hotel receptionist ever and the location was PERFECT!! We lucked out on a last minute booking and Big Pines was ideal for a quick, last minute stay

Excellent service. Amazing friendly staff, clean, in downtown area. Close to almost everything. No parking fee. Good lobby. Wifi works very good. Prices are very affordable. I was there about 2 weeks ago, and will go there again. I definitely recommend this motel. 5 stars !!!!!

An older building for the price it is a prime location. I arraived very late and the gentlemen at the front desk made sure the room was ready for us personnally before giving us the keys. Location is right in the middle of the mall next to the ski lift, the night life is crazy. Loved the stay, will gladly come by again this summer.

Hey, you get what you pay for. We stayed for 6 nights over Memorial Day weekend and it’s not a luxury place but it’s decent, the girls at the desk are nice and we can’t complain.

This is great place to stay if you're a simple traveler and looking for a good deal. The place is clean, in a good area close to a lot of shops and main attractions, and they allow pets! We got there a little early and they were nice enough to allow for us to check in early. One of the people in the group lost the key card and the front desk assisted us with no problem. We were very comfortable here and would come back.

Rooms are clean, staff is friendly, location is amazing. It's a basic but comfy hotel in paradise...what is there to complain about? Thanks, Big Pines, and see you next time!

Front desk was very friendly and helpful. For a hotel in this great location, it was a very good deal, especially for weekend prices. The room was clean when checked in, the only only minor issue was the hot water on the shower seemed to be unreliable at times, and outlet space was somewhat limited.

I really loved staying here! The Gal at the front was really nice and helped us out a lot!!! I was very happy with my stay here with my husband and my dog. It's not up to date but it's all you need! The room was really big, a lot bigger than expected and we loved the kitchenette too!! The shower was hot and had an amazing showerhead! Location couldn't have been any better! Big thanks to the employees that constantly worked keeping the parking lot functional during a big storm. We will definitely be back!

Great last minute decision to book a hotel in busy South Lake Tahoe. Especially on a holiday weekend. Room 129 was clean. Pool was not heated as advertised not a dealbreaker but was looking forward for it. The only negative was the rooms lacked lighting and no full length mirror. Basic accommodations. I would recommend using this place for easy access to the casinos.

I enjoyed the price point, it was nothing fancy but it wasn’t a dump either. My room was clean, and I had just spent three weeks in the desert so the shower was really nice. My only complaint was the bed was old and slightly uncomfortable. They gave me vouchers when I checked in that were $5 to a private beach just a walking distance away. When we got to the beach it was after 4 so they allowed me to go in for free and save my voucher for the next day. The receptionist was nice.
