Maple Pancake House

Business travel often lands me in the area and I have tried several local places for breakfast and I've determined that Maple Pancake House is my favorite. I like their biscuits and gravy (maybe served a little hotter), along with hash browns and fresh fruit. The hash browns are always hot and crispy. Oh, and their coffee is always excellent! Much better than hotel coffee and breakfast. Actually, their coffee is better than most chain coffee.
Another thing I like is that they open at 6 a.m., which must be the perfect time for the local retired community because there are always 15-20 retired guys in there eating breakfast and having a good time.
Great food, great service and a fun and engaging atmosphere!

Local favorite here.. one of the top 3 biscuits and gravy in town. Always good service.

Amazing food. Fast service. Went with my kids and they had us in and out in under 45 minutes!

Place was packed but for all the right reasons, breakfast was nicely priced for the food/price ratio and had good flavor, didn’t taste like a cheap breakfast place, the service was awesome as well they didn’t let the coffee cup get low before it was refilled, if you are looking for a somewhat quick and inexpensive place for breakfast I’d highly recommend this establishment

Best steak and eggs in town. Be prepared to wait on the weekends. This place is hopping all the time!! 100% worth the wait. Management does a great job staffing for how busy they are. Every server I've had has done a fantastic job but Jill deserves a special shout out.

Editing to add: I went to another local breakfast place this morning 2/3/24 and almost the whole time wished I had come to Maple Pancake House.

We were very impressed with the quality of the food, the prices and the outstanding service. The parking is plentiful and convenient on both sides of the building providing easy access. We arrived at noon and were still seated right away by a very pleasant hostess. Our server could not have been more efficient and kind if she tried. Our drinks were served right away, followed by our soup, I highly recommend the chicken noodle as it is very good, then our meals were served piping hot and fresh. I will say this place is only open for breakfast and lunch.

This is our favorite breakfast place. Jenna is our favorite server. She is amazing. All the staff are friendly and work very hard. Don't worry if they are busy, the wait time is not long. They are very efficient.

I judge service a lot on whether a waitress will fill your coffee, whether it's her table or not. All winners here!!!

New in town from Cali, 2 weeks ago. My Girlfriend wanted to take me to Bfast and we went to Eggs in Paradise. After sitting and being ignored for 15 minutes, we got up & walked out. My GF found your place and we had an amazing meal, fun, packed atmosphere with the rest of the town! Food was fabulous as well as all the football Tees! Made for an amazing Birthday Breakfast! Will def be back!!

Crowded and quick, food was great, with large servings. Are you looking for rich dark coffee? Well, this is not that place for that, but the food and service make up for it.

Spot on food and service. Our waitress Jackie was on the ball. Great skillets and the B&G is top notch.

This place has a very extensive menu, the food is exceptional and reasonably priced. The staff are pleasant. I love to eat here when I'm in the Sterling area.

A prime place to experience the average Sterling life. Local hero Thaddeus probably would eat here. A great place to go to get immersed with the local culture, highly recommend for fellow tourists.

I've been in town a couple days and Absolutely wow!!! I've eat there two mornings in a row now and tomorrow will be the third. Great atmosphere! The food was great. Generous portions. Never had to ask twice for anything. My coffee cup (good coffee I might add) never went to the bottom. The place was packed but I didn't have to wait long.
Do yourself a solid and visit!

The breakfast here is delicious. The service is kind and attentive. However, be warned that you will have to wait a while before you get a table. But it's worth the wait!

I love this little establishment. I only wish it was open a little later in the day but when I'm able to get there, it's game on. Love the friendly staff and their breakfast is hands down the best in town. The only place in Illinois that knows what a scrambled soft egg is. Great place for meeting up with friends and having a great meal at a reasonable price.
