Coker Creek Falls Trailhead

A very beautiful place to see. If you walk the whole waterfall area. It’s seven major fall areas. And a bunch more smaller ones. No real place to camp here. Upkeep hasn’t been done in some time. You can camp at the lower trailhead however. A couple decent size camp sites. I would recommend an all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive vehicle. If you want to go down there.

This is a pretty series of waterfalls accessed by a short, easy. Don't just stop at the first falls, walk a little farther for another drop. The road to the trailhead is rough & best done with a higher clearance vehicle.

Pretty easy drive in and out. Short hike to the falls, pretty well maintained trail.

Watch out for wasp and yellow jacket nests... terrain is worth the experience!!!! Beautiful!

I'm going with three stars for this one. I've never met a waterfall that I didn't like. This is a very pretty area. But the "waterfall" is more a series of cascades and small drops than it is an actual waterfall.

However, it is not the falls itself that prompted me to give it only an average rating. It is the access. The road to the falls (FS 22) is, in my opinion, simply awful. I guess it's management of Cherokee NF. The TN portion of Joe Brown Hwy was the same way - horrible. I've found NF roads in NC & GA (SC, also) to be much better. I have a 2WD F-150 and I was concerned that I'd have trouble making the climb out from the trailhead. The rocks and ruts make it impossible to get any speed. I would definitely NOT attempt this in a passenger car. Especially not after a rain. I visited Conasauga Falls a month or so ago and it was in similar (if not worse) condition.

I wanted to continue down FS 22 to check out the lower trailhead. But I turned around at the first place I could. The farther you go, the worse the road is.

So, in summary...beautiful area with a pretty, if not spectacular, waterfall. Dreadful drive getting to the trailhead.
