Tellicafe

Excellent stop in Tellico Plains. We have stopped here over the years and have always enjoyed our meals here.

The restaurant expanded since our last stop and now has a enclosed area with a small bar.

The staff is super nice. It takes a little bit of time to get your food, but the wait is worth it. Get the appetizers if you are unsure. From the fried green tomatoes and trout cakes to the fired banana peppers, it was delicious.

My "go to" when riding near Tellico Plains, TN! I've always enjoyed dining at Tellicafe and now they're open for breakfast. Great folks there will welcome you and take good care of you throughout the meal. And the food is always great. Now open for breakfast they serve all your fav breakfast items and I particularly enjoyed their version of Eggs Benedict. Check 'em out when in Tellico Plains, you'll be glad you did! Photos of the "benny" but after I doctored it up with a bit of pepper and hot sauce....and I "fixed" it cuz I had taken a bite before taking the pic. LOL Trust me....it's gooooood!

We enjoyed a late lunch at the cafe where we enjoyed the Reuben sandwich, fries and a bowl of their green tomato and ham soup. We had the bread pudding for dessert. Food was delicious and our waitress was attentive. Never had a meal at this cafe that we didn’t like, and always make sure to dine there when in Tellico. A must try place if you are in Tellico Plains.

Honestly one of the best meals we’ve ever had. We started with fried green tomatoes that were very tasty. I had the prime rib sandwich special. The meat was tender and delicious. The accompanying onion rings and fries were great! My wife had the fresh trout that was superb! We had the house made carrot cake that was without a doubt the best we’ve ever had. They have a great menu with a wide variety of offerings. I think everyone can find something good to eat here. Our very friendly and courteous waitress said many of the deserts they serve are house made. We will be back many times to try out all of the deserts and food offerings. They have several all you can eat options for those with large appetites. The prices were very reasonable.

Susan and Chrissy were very friendly and sociable. The food, service and prices were exceptional. On our second visit the bar area was built out with beautiful views of the mountains!

For a hungry foursome on a road trip, this was a GREAT find. We were told by a local it’s the best restaurant in the county. When we viewed the menu, we were amazed at the excellent choices and wide variety! Everyone selected different entrees. Artichoke lemon chicken, Italian chicken pasta, and two different types of fish (trout and halibut?). Sides:huge creamy baked sweet potato, fried okra, fresh side salad, crispy sweet potato fries…every bite cooked perfectly. We had conversations while the food was cooked FRESH. It wasn’t a long wait. All came out piping hot. Great tea! No room for dessert and their prices are very reasonable. Very nice meal, casual atmosphere. Staff are very friendly, informed, and happily answered questions with care and respect. Been there once before and had the Reuben-amazing. I’ll be stopping in Tellicafe when we are nearby! 100% satisfied!

A gem! Food we ordered were superb! The fried trout and stuffed baked trout that my husband and I ordered were so good. Bread pudding is a must try. I like it that they serve in hot plates. The potato fries are flaky good. The black currant iced tea is a must-try. Clam chowder has the perfect creaminess. Rueben is yummy. Stuffed mushroom was worth the 20min wait. Key lime pie has the creamy sour goodness. We were kinda skeptical with the wide variety of food in the menu but all that we tried were very good. The restaurant owner/manager made it sure that everyone feels welcome.

Wow! When I first sat down, I was apprehensive due to how much they offer on the menu. Normally, when a restaurant has an extensive menu, they're not that good. There are too many items to get wrong. But this place has it figured out. I had roasted trout stuffed with crab and shrimp. It was seafood heaven! The sides are great, too. The absolute highlight was the bread pudding. Oh my! It was so good! The service is pure southern hospitality. Super friendly and attentive. My drink was never below half. This place is an absolute gem!

Stopped in for breakfast on our way home from a trip to Cherokee forest.
Absolutely fantastic. My wife shared a hungry man breakfast with our daughter (which they had no problem with and even brought an extra plate) and there was still plenty left. Biscuits and sausage gravy perfectly seasoned. Coffee is good and strong.
Excellent prices too.
We’ll definitely be stopping by again on our next trip.

Not too many places respond positively to a group of 18 just walking in on a weekend.
There weren't enough seats in the main restaurant, so they opened up the patio bar/room and sent in a couple servers just for us.
Everyones food was great, the service perfect, & prices amazing.
You can't go wrong with this family owned & operated gem. We all just wish we lived nearby instead of just riding through!

Nice cafe, food was good, service was ok. Price was decent. Would visit again. All you could eat shrimp were good. The honey spice fried chicken was also pretty good. Not too sweet or spicy but good fried chicken. Mashed potatoes were good and the fries were awesome.

Great little cafe with an amazing variety of food, and super friendly service! Visited while staying a couple of nights in Tellico Plains. We had about 8 in our party & we were served promptly & all thought the food was very good. We sat in their open air patio. Tho it was enclosed with a pony wall, the fresh breeze & view was fantastic. Highly recommend this little cafe.

It’s Deborah and Kevin Parker. We were in on Mother’s Day and as usual had yet another great meal at Tellicafe.

As I told you when we were talking that Tellicafe is my all time favorite restaurant. Kevin and I love coming here to eat and we will certainly be back again and again.

Your wait staff is amazing. Very attentive and always ready to please.

We eat here fairly often as a couple but my husband wanted to take the family this time. The food was good as always. The service top notch. The desserts were delicious. We really appreciate being made to feel welcome.

I and family ate here today after Easter service at church. Appetizers fried pickles and fried green tomatoes. They were so delicious could have made a meal of them. My friends had bourbon pork chops asparagus and mixed vegetables. Their daughter had chicken tenders and fries. I had ham green beans fried okra and we all shared what the others had and every thing was so delicious each distinct flavors overwhelmingly great. THEN father and daughter had apple pie ala mode my cousin and I split carrot cake. It is the best carrot cake I have ever had by far anywhere. When your in Tellico plains and want a great place to relax and have a great meal I recommend Tellicafe. They have so much to offer on their daily specials board or from their menu, you won't be disappointed. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the owner himself comes around to each table to make sure everyone is happy and satisfied with their visit. Please give this place a try and oh my the carrot 🥕 cake 🎂 is Heavenly.

Very nice hometown restaurant. Food is hot, plentiful, and delicious. No complaints only complements. Stay at the Lodge at Tellico, and dine here. We are from Michigan, and will dine here again when we return to Tellico Plains.

10 of my fellow Motorcycle buddies stopped in for Lunch and we were treated with dignity and respect right off the bat! The staff were professional, courteous, and had our food out on our table very fast. Our food was fresh, hot and absolutely delicious!! The next time we are riding up through Tellico Plains, we will definitely be stopping at this fine restaurant again!! Try it you’ll like it!!

Amber was our server and like always was amazing. Me and my daughter love to come enjoy a great dinner together and service was fast. The owner came around to ask if everything was good. Great place to come eat.

Great place to stop for comfort food.

Out for a backroads ride through East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. Stopped here for lunch. I had chicken fried chicken, mac & cheese, and sweet potato fries. Wife had grilled chicken salad with fries. Attentive, courteous greeting and service. Great music.

Oh my goodness! If you are anywhere near this place, stop!! Delicious homemade southern food! Only downfall, I don’t live closer to this restaurant! Roast beef, chicken dumplings, fried green tomatoes! YUM!!! Cornbread was better than mine! That’s hard to find :). This place is worth stopping at! Highly recommend.
