I'd rather not rate this place, but keep it all for myself... But that would be so unfair too the wonderful folks there. Dena is an amazing person as well as host. The sites are close together but plenty adequate for parking whatever rig you bring. The bathhouse is a simple one holer with a shower, but it's very nice and brand new (Summer 2020). The drive in up through Ducktown and Turtletown over the mountains was not too bad with a 23' camper pulled behind a V6 Toyota. The camp host stayed up late to help back us in to our space, which was greatly appreciated. Having full hookups and being able to book for a holiday weekend just a few days out was absolutely fantastic. From the wide open field out front to the cool little pond to the creek itself, the landscape was super pleasant, as were all the other campers there. The weather couldn't have been better, the night sky was amazing in the lack of light pollution, how many stars we could see! The hosts checked in with us about once each day to make sure our needs were completely met. They gave us suggestions on things to do in the area, and great advice on things we asked about. Our whole family is looking forward to going back to Hammer's Hideaway.

We really enjoyed our stay here - the campground was well maintained, the bathhouse was clean and there seemed to be a lot of improvements in the works. Owners were very responsive and easy to work with.
The surrounding areas are bursting with history and scenery that will take your breath away - lots of neat little shops with many goods from local artists.
We would definitely return to the campground and the area - so much to see and do that we didn't know about before we got there!

My wife and I spent 4 days at Hammer's Hideaway and enjoyed how remote of an area it's in. On a clear night you can see thousands of stars as there is NO light pollution in this area. Plan accordingly as the closest stores in Tellico Plains are about 25 minutes away. In a world where everything seems to be just seconds away it's refreshing to be somewhere where it takes a little planning and navigating the "old fashioned" way with a map; as your phone will only work with the WiFi in the cabin (or with downloaded maps). The creek behind the cabin was crystal clear and we had a great time sitting outside in the morning drinking coffee and listening to the water/watching the wildlife hide away their food for the winter. Dana was extremely responsive thru Airbnb and answered any questions we had before and during our stay. Thanks for the great time away from our busy lives, we'll definitely be back!

Spent 5 nights at the cabin. Had a great time, especially sitting on the back porch next to the creek. The cabin had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable as was the other furniture. We were in the area motorcycling and had been to this campground before but never stayed. Do yourself a favor and save some time looking and just stay here!

We stayed in the bell tent. We got in later than we expected and it was great to only have to set up our bedding. Website says it is unfurnished so we were suprised to find 2 cots (which the kids loved) and 2 small tables with lanterns. The host and her employees were all extremely friendly and helpful. I wish the wifi had picked up at the tent but it was a short walk (or drive) around the corner if I needed to check email or make calls. Nice! Quiet! Right on the creek! Will definitely stay again!

I stayed here in July for six days with my family. We came to meet up with my brother and his family as he owns property in Tellico Plains. We originally were looking into staying at another local campground but my brother highly recommended that we stay at Hammers Hideaway. I am so glad that I listened! From my first conversation with Dana, I knew that we were going to love it there. Dana couldn’t be nicer if she tried. The other campers were also extremely nice. We had a lot of really great conversations with everyone at the campground and the men that were working on the new building. My daughter and her family rented the Cyclone and they loved it. I stayed in the cabin with my younger child. Book Hammers, you won’t regret it! The beautiful view is something I will never forget! Thanks Dana!

It was absolutely wonderful! The cabin was clean, and fully furnished. The host stopped by a few times to make sure everything was ok, and I thought that was great. I did have to call her, because I got lost on the way there; and she was very gracious about giving me some help to get there. Check in and out was easy. It was so quiet and peaceful! The back porch right by the creek was my favorite spot. The host communicated with me before the trip which was also reassuring. I HIGHLY recommend this place!!!! I also don’t believe you could ask for a better host!😊

This campground is super awesome! The owner is really nice and so are the grounds here. There's tons of space to dry camp with either your camper or tent. They have a few full hook-up (sewer and everything) spots for campers and a camper and cabin you can air b&b. The campground has a beautiful bathhouse with a nice shower and outlets. This is also a very good location for a campground. It's not hard to pull your camper here and it's an hour (maybe an hour and a half) from everything you could possibly want to do! There's a chain grocery store and restaurant about 20 minutes from here. The campground has Wi-Fi because most folks don't get great service out there. I would 100% recommend this to a friend or family member to stay here!

Hello Everyone !
Y'all stop in and check this place out and introduce yourself to "Hammer", you can't miss him... he's a big ole boy with a big heart to match. I'm an amateur gold prospector and his property is right on Coker Creek. He was kind enough let me do some prospecting there. Great place to camp and bring the family. He offers good rates to stay and the sites have power. I hope i get to go back there someday !
