Citico Creek Campsite 9

Awesome campsite if you want to be away from it all. Very secluded and no phone service so bring everything you need and a full tank of gas because those backroads go on forever if deciding to pass this site and come out the other end. Stayed the night and only seen four vehicles pass.

Spacious campground with two firepits and great access to the river. Very nice spot for a quiet camping trip. There are 14 different Citico Creek campsite along Citico Road and they are first come first serve. We arrived around 3 pm and found the first few we passed were taken. So arrive at a reasonable time for a weekend trip or a potentially busy holiday. Be prepared to pack out your trash and bring your own firewood.

The best campsite! So many wonderful memories here. Try to stop with flowers for my papaw everytime I go up the mountain.

Citico creek and the different campgrounds are great. We enjoyed the scenery and only saw 3 cars the entire day.

Great camp site to visit! Lovely place! I will be back there!

Very nice campsite. Be prepared because the road in and out are unimproved, but completely worth traveling.

Awesome place to camp.

Citico Creek camp#9, GREAT spot (BEST OF THEM ALL) with easy water access (clean flowing water) and small rock island across from camp site an rope swing. The camp site comes with plenty of shade nesselde in the Forest with level lot. There are two-burning pits at this (x2 camp) site (NO TRASH BARRELS and NO BATHROOM). Take your yard cleaning hardware and trash bags as previous visitors seem to leave a mess, burnt wires, cans, cigarette butts and trash.
Needless to say we left the area in better shape than found.

I noticed day- visitor's loved this spot for swimming and water lounging, plenty of parking space.
If you love to fish, this is the spot come evening time (if permitted).
Low traffic volume. Mostly gravel road, drive slow and watch for pot holes and on coming traffic as roadway is narrow at times.

We love camping in citico. It would be better if they had power and a pay station though. I can't camp in a tent anymore due to health issues, so I bring a camper and a loud generator, that no one wants to hear lol.

Nice place to relax with a cold beer, reminiscing about this same spot back in highschool. Aaahh, where time goes!?!?
