Beautiful park right on the Escanaba river, worth the stop. Hosts are very welcoming.

What a great place to stay in a great little town. We loved it here in Gwinn and stayed here for 3 weeks. It's just a hop and a skip to get to Marquette. The town is very bike friendly and everyone we met was very nice. The camp was clean with a great hiking trail on site. We swam and put our Kayaks in at the park and went down about 2 1/2 hours. Blueberries were fresh on the hill, then we had some blackberries the next week. Great internet and Susie was very sweet and gracious. The store was closed I am assuming for COVID but they always had firewood ready for purchase for $5. We will stay here anytime we come back through!

Easy back in slots that are spaced out. Plenty of room between camp sites for sitting outside without feeling like you are intruding on the neighbors. Great walking trails along the river with plenty of scenery.

This is an RV / Tent park. Small, decent site sizes, hiking trail. Full hookups with 30/50 amp.

Delighted! And pleasantly surprised. We have always had to pay more than double this price for full hookups so our expectations were low. Even looking at the satellite map, we weren't expecting much. But now that we're here, we love it! There are more trees than you would expect especially closer to the bath house. The showers are free, hot, and not on timers. A hop skip and a jump from the campsites is a lovely River with rapids and a small waterfall. The trail along the river is gorgeous but does get rustic after a certain point. Make sure you go as far as the picnic table. And venture on if you're not afraid of walking through plants hanging over the trail. Some of the road trail is a Sandy Road like an ATV route or something. We did not see any people or vehicles on our hike. Nor did we see any moose or bears 😒
Most of the time there is no one in the office except every afternoon approximately 3 to 5:00 p.m. There are people who come around and collect the garbage and do maintenance though. Garbage cans are placed at every campsite and there are stations providing bags for dog waste. It's very clean and well kept and there's always firewood available which I believe is self-serve. There's also a small library and a lot of brochures. As the ground is mostly sandy, it's not muddy after rain. We did not have to do any leveling with our motorhome! Our site was perfectly level. The water pressure is good and we have not had any problems with electric. Also perhaps because we are close to the bath house and office, we have had a strong Wi-Fi signal all week.

Great park to hike and fish. Have never camped but always lots of people. Really nice trails that run along the river. Sons tend to fish here every trip up.

We averaged $30 / night for W/E50/S/I. They do accept Passport America but since we were staying on a weekend, could not use it. This is a township owned, no frills, no amenities 20 spot RV park. Since we don't use campground amenities, it meets our needs perfectly. Our full sun, back-in, dirt site was spacious, though it sloped 4 to 6 inches between our wheels. The internet service was fantastic and the best we've ever had at a campground. The 5 star rating reflects that not only is this a very nice, no frills campground, the value is tremendous! A full hook-up site with fantastic internet for $15 / night with Passport America during the week can't be beat!!!!

Marquette is about 35 minutes away. Climb Sugarloaf Mountain for an incredible 360 degree view. Take in a sunset at Sunset Point on Presque Isle. Visit the Michigan Iron Industry Museum to learn about the history of iron and how it contributed to the steel industry.Hancock City Park

Wonderful park with camping on the Savannah River. What a gem, with North side of Gwinn location right in town but feels like miles out of town. Convenience of this location plus swimming and fishing are great attributes and lets not forget camping sites are all larger than most.

We have been coming here for 20 plus years. Always have had a great time! Is there any kind of Award the Forsyth Township of Gwinn can award Susie and Terri accolades for being the extremely, best ever Hostesses of Farquar Metsa? These Ladies go through hoops to work with you and Gwinn should be very Proud of of them!

Some of the most beautiful views in the area are along the Escanaba River at the Tourist Park. A nice trail follows the Escanaba from the Park to the Gwinn Cemetery. Stop by the Upper Falls and enjoy listening to and watching the swirling waters. Absolutely gorgeous in the autumn.
