Swamp Shack BBQ

So many wonderful things to say about this place. First off, if you're looking for southern hospitality you will find it here. The food...oh my word! Let me tell you, we are from Memphis and we eat a lot of BBQ and Swamp Shack blew us away.
My husband had the brisket plate- it was the most tender brisket we've ever had. The beans and potato salad were wonderful too. I had the BBQ chicken tacos. The chicken was full of flavor and so tender. The slaw had just the perfect amount of dressing. The tacos were so good. I would eat them again for my next meal.
The owner came by our table and visited with us - super nice guy. We met his wife and his parents were in there eating too. They were all the kindest people. We left there happy & full!!

Excellent BBQ. Highly recommend the ribs and brisket. Gotta try the inside out dessert, wow! Great service too. We'll be back next time we're in the area.

Easily, easily some of the best BBQ I've ever had, no exaggeration. Possibly the top of the list all-time, even. Do not miss the brisket, do not miss the potato salad. But really everything was fantastic. This is a spot worth going out of your way for, plus the folks running the place were super friendly and kind. If we're ever back in this state will make a point to return! Highest 5 stars possible. If you're reading this and haven't been here before - GO.

I was in town for work so I stopped in. Pulled into the parking lot with low expectations. Thinking it was going to be another run of the mill bbq joint. I was most definitely wrong about my assumption.

Very clean, nice restaurant. Staff was super friendly. One of, if not the best, pulled pork sandwiches I’ve ever tasted. Talked with the owner for a bit. Super friendly, welcoming, and humble guy. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in town again.

Service was amazing and the food tasted great. I was not disappointed at all. I ordered a little bit of everything from ribs, brisket, sausage, pulled pork, and the loaded potato. The Swamp Shack is now apart of my weekly rotation.. At least.. Highly recommend..

If yall don't try this bbq restaurant shame on you more for me!!! This place is several notches better than other bbq joints we have tried around the Hattiesburg Laurel and mississippi gulf coast area.
Staff was friendly, owner is very knowledgeable on how to smoke a piece of meat it was mouth watering . We will definitely be back to try the brisket. Call ahead before hand because the closing hours are at 2:00 pm monday through Thursday open later on Fridays. Get there first because parking is limited if you sit down in the restaurant. Takeout may be your option if parking isn't available so don't fret it's worth the experience ether way. Don't let the building fool you its really gooood!!!

There’s everything to love about the Swamp Shack! I frequent their establishment on a weekly basis for the best BBQ around and you should too! There are other recommendations that aren’t listed but you can’t go wrong with anything you get from here!
