AzTec Taqueria

My son and grandson have been wanting to try this place for a while now. So, we stopped here after a bike hike. The place was worth it. I had tacos, my grandson had a chicken quesadilla, and my son a burrito. All were very good and reasonably priced. The outdoor seating was comfortable and the staff friendly.

We recently moved back to the area from Austin (and prior to that LA), and we were pretty sure we'd struggle to find good tacos. Luckily we were wrong! This place is great!!! Homemade tortillas, amazing lengua, birra, asada, and al pastor were all top notch. The drinks were also on point, and the service was great as well. Highly recommend!!!

Really delicious food. The food was so good that I forgot to take a picture of it. Highly recommend. Spent just under 40 (including tip) for 2 people. Steak quesadilla was very good. Wife has steak tacos and said they were the best she's had.

This is a great location, right alongside the bike path... and the food is DELICIOUS! Shared a shrimp burrito and a shredded beef quesadilla, and both were a flavor delight. The margaritas were also tasty and refreshing with some unique options (I really enjoyed the spicy pineapple).

Can't wait to return and try the tacos!

Very good tacos - beef and pork were better than the chicken. Torta was huge. Seating area was full for Saturday lunch.

Food was easily the best food we have had in a while. The burritos are incredible and easily the tastiest we have found in Madison! They have a good array of meat options and their tofu is great too!! Recommend the tromp tacos!

The queso tacos with salsa Aztec are so amazing! Cheesy, crispy, spicy (with the salsa), and just oh so yummy! Highly recommend! (Check out the picture of our order of 12 to feed 4 of us!)

The Elote in a box is carved fresh off the Cobb and a favorite of my son! Also- the kids meals come with fresh fruit (fresh cut mango! My boys couldn’t get enough!)

Delicious authentic tacos - simple but fresh and delicious. Corn tortilla, onion, cilantro, and meat. Perfection! I'm from southern California, and the two things I look for when I walk in to a taco place are 1) aguas frescas and 2) fresh salsa. This place has both, and they are also fresh and delicious just like the tacos. Service is extremely fast, both for take out and dine in. Highly recommend.

My husband and I stopped in here by chance, and dare I say the best taco spot in Madison! WOW. Everything we ordered was fresh, great portions, and fast. All of our food came out super flavorful and the sauces were a 10/10. I loved my tacos and the cilantro rice and pinto beans were so good. My husband ordered the chicken burrito and devoured it! The esquites are made with fresh corn straight off the cob. I can’t recommend this place enough and look forward to coming back soon!

Food is delicious. Quesadillas, tacos (lengua!) and Aztec salad. Came out fast and hot. Indoor / outdoor seating was lovely on a hot spring day. Music was not too loud. Very casual and kid friendly.

Finally made my way to Verona for the tacos at Aztec Taqueria. Glad I took the trip. Was impressed by the taste of the food. The quesa tacos were phenomenal and so were the other tacos I had. Can’t wait to try the other things on their menu. The restaurant itself is beautiful on the inside and there’s a ton of natural light.

An amazing spot for authentic Mexican food! We ordered almost all of the tacos - the homemade corn tortillas were fresh and flavourful and the salsas were amazing. Shoutout to the AzTeca salsa and the queso taco with consommé - yum! The quesadilla, chips and guac, and AzTec salad were also loved. This is such a hidden gem - definitely a must try! Ate it too fast to take more photos!

Great food and service! Very nice staff and clean restaurant. Strong air conditioning and plenty of outdoor seating. Fresh tasting beef (including cow tongue), fresh and well-salted chips, and a perfect guac with plenty of cilantro and lime.

The only tacos I’ll be getting in the Madison area. Fairly priced, highly flavorful, absolutely delicious and their salsas are amazing (get one of each!). I had the chicken, asada, birria and shrimp one. 5/5 will be going again! Lovely service, too. Great ambience with indoor and spacious outdoor seating options. Great menu selection of drinks and foods to try!

Excellent food! I got the queso and lengua with churros for dessert! Their salsa is legendary! Customers were asking if they sold it jarred. Honestly, this place needs more business. Truly delicious with kind and quick service. What more could you ask for?

I recently moved to WI from Texas where I lived on the border for much of my life. I was starting to think I’d never be able to find great, authentic Mexican food here. But I found it at AzTec Taqueria!

I ordered the queso tacos and was blown away. I also tasted the torta (sandwich) and the elote (street corn); everything was full of flavor and memories of home. But far and away the best thing I had was the horchata. I’ve never had one as delicious as this one.

I do wish the salsa for the chips and salsa was bigger and the chips are not housemade which is a shame. But I give them 5 stars nonetheless as I sincerely wish them the best.

I’ll be back for seconds and thirds!

Aztec Taqueria is really good. The Horchata is solid but the standout dish here is the lengua. Which is cow tongue.

I would recommend this place. I think this is the best mexician spot in the area.

Like any woman, I LOVE tacos. It is both a snack AND a full meal! So while most tacos are good, there are times when tacos are amazing and just hit the spot. And this place is a real gem!

The beef tongue (lengua) tacos are sooo tender and amazing. The must marinate and cook that meat all day. It’s absolutely perfect. The tacos are simple but well seasoned, not too salty, but just the right amount of everything. I love the simple salsas that are offered with them, the side of lime just adds the kick it needs. Also, they have horchata! And some horchatas are better than others. AzTec’s horchata is quite perfect! They add a little extra cinnamon on top. This is an excellent little spot for the perfect taco fix. Incredibly satisfying!

Legit tacos here in Verona. Coming from areas where tacos are more prevalent I can put these in very similar category as those places I frequented back in Colorado and California. Handmade tortillas accompany all tacos. The queso tacos are off the walls good in tender with a side of Birra sauce for dipping.
