The Mill Room at East Forty Brewing

We booked The Mill Room at East Forty Brewing Company for my dad's surprise retirement party. I would 10/10 recommend them for your event. Nikki was amazing throughout the whole thing. She checked in on us right before and after the event to make sure everything went great! The room is great and the patio adds a great touch. The staff working that night was amazing, and they made sure we had eveything we needed. They even helped pull off the surprise. Highly recommend

My husband and I hosted our son and daughter-in-law’s wedding rehearsal dinner at The Mill Room at East Forty Brewing. The couple wanted their celebration to stay in eastern Jackson County where they both grew up and we couldn’t have found a better venue! The owners were very accommodating and Nikki, the event coordinator was calm and supportive as we navigated the planning of this event that was so important to our two families. The Mill Room was amazing and I will be using them again when in need of an event space. The staff was so incredibly accommodating and fast to respond. We were planning this event with a short time frame and the staff were so incredibly helpful. The space was lovely and quite large, with an outdoor patio. I highly recommend this event space, and will also note that as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, the space was not only welcoming but affirming. It's not easy to find spaces that are affirming in eastern Jackson County, and this local business is such a breath of fresh air.

My wife and I booked The Mill Room for our 25th Wedding Anniversary (August 2023). Leading up to the event, the staff and owner where highly attentive to ensuring we were getting what we needed from the event. They coordinated the table arrangements, the bar menu (that we got to sample and choose from the brewery and other local spirits), and were very thorough in explaining schedules leading up to the event and what was available for our use at the venue.

The party itself was one of the most efficient events that I have attended and the two staff members that were assigned to our event were some of the hardest working and personable people I have ever witnessed at an event like ours. They were able to keep up with the bar while maintaining the cleanliness throughout the venue, they handled all the technical aspects of the event, and they were super attentive and responsive to any questions or concerns I had. After the party, they helped us box up all our belongings and left over food and although we insisted on helping, they assured us that we didn't have to.

I would definitely book this room again in the future and I certainly hope that the two staff members we had the night of would be available again.

As a side, our party was for about 100 people; although I don't think we had that many people there at any one time. The venue was the perfect size for this many people. If you have any more than that, it may start feeling a little crowded.

We hosted a living celebration of life for my Dad, who was losing his battle with cancer. We wanted to be able to host an event that allowed him the send-off he deserved, and The Mill Room checked everything on that list. They had multiple options for drinks, we were able to bring in our own food (or you could cater, I believe) and they provided all of the tables and chairs we needed, and even set it all up in advance.
We were able to use their hookups and projector screen to do a photo sideshow, play background music, and even had a live musical performance. Everything was clean and orderly, the flow of the space was really nice, as we left one side open for mingling and the other side for food/seating, and the outdoor covered patio with tables and chairs was an added bonus. You have access to the bar or can have your own bartender back there for an additional fee.
Nikki was so nice and easy to work with. I have to commend her, because (due to the nature of the event) we had to cancel last minute, and then we had a turnaround and she helped us get everything back up and going within a day's notice. She was very understanding and helpful, and the event was an AMAZING day for Dad.
10/10 recommend.

We hosted a birthday party at the Mill Room. The event space was beautiful and the staff was responsive and kind. I would recommend the space for any of your upcoming event.

We held my daughter's bridal shower at the Mill Room. It was the perfect set up for 40-50 people. Nikki is amazing at getting things prepared and communication leading up to the event and during getting us anything we needed! 110% recommend!

What a great place. Meet my brother here for a party he was hosting. Very clean and fun atmosphere. It's hidden away. I would have driven by if I hadn't known any better. Worth the stop.

The Mill Room was a perfect venue for our surprise birthday/Derby party! The space was just the right size for 50 people! We were able to use their screen & equipment to stream the Derby. Nikki was great to work with and available to answer all my questions. Our bartenders, Sydney & Brittany were great! They provided 2 signature drinks that were Derby themed, including a mint julep! I would highly recommend the Mill Room!

We hosted my Father's Celebration of Life here. It is a wonderful space, Nikki and Staff were gracious, attentive, and available at all times. Just a phenomenal group of people to work with.

Extra perk: the weather was gorgeous and we were able to open the large garage doors in the front of venue. Good luck finding that anywhere else!

Private event on short notice with nothing but top notch assistance in organizing and a fabulous event. This is a perfect location with the ideal set up for any number of gatherings. With the indoor and patio areas, it is a very versatile space. Everyone at East Forty was also wonderful to work with

We had a graduation party at the Mill Room with about 50-75 guests. It was nicely decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful. The facility was very clean! The overall experience exceeded expectations. Their pricing was comparable to similar venues in Eastern Jackson County. I would highly recommend you consider them for your events. We would use them again.

We had our daughters high school graduation party at the Mill room and it was a great experience! The process from booking, organizing, and setting up for the event went great with no problems. Nikki who helped with everything was pleasant and professional. I highly recommend the Mill Room/ East forty brewery for any event!!

We used The Mill Room to host our wedding reception and it was the best time! Nikki was in constant communication with us so we never had any stresses when it came to where we would hold our reception. It was big enough for our guests and a dance floor. The drink they had for us were amazing! I think someone shared a compliment on each drink to us at one point or another. If you are thinking about using The Mill Room to host your party, use them!

We held our engagement party here last Saturday and could not have been more pleased with the staff, space, drinks and overall ambience of this venue! An absolute (affordable) hidden gem just outside KC. Nikki the event coordinator was amazing to work with and the entire staff there were fabulous - making sure everything ran smoothly and we were enjoying ourselves. All of our guests raved on how much fun the event was and how beautiful the space was! Definitely check them out if you're planning an event in the area!

We rented The Mill Room for our high school 40th reunion. It was the perfect location for us and was exactly what we needed for the event. The room is spacious and nicely laid out. All night long we heard very positive comments about the event and how nice everything was. That's a win in our books!

Excellent event space and reasonably priced. We held a wedding receptions with 60 guest and it was the perfect size venue for that amount of guests. Nikki was amazing with keeping us on track leading up to the event and promptly respond when any questions arose during the planning.
